Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Teams commenced the race at Place St-Bernard at the base of which Canadian peak?

Answer: Mont Tremblant

Ten teams gathered at the start line at the Mont Tremblant Resort in this eighth Canadian "Amazing Race" and embarked on a trip that would take them to five provinces in eleven legs. Amongst the ranks this time were famous Canadian musicians, dancers, athletes, and business people, and due to the filming date of this season, they all had to contend with the possibility of COVID-19 interfering with their race.

After receiving the go from Jon at the start line, the teams raced around Place St-Bernard for their first tasks and then hitch a bus ride to Montreal.
2. La Grande Roue de Montréal, seen here, was the site of which of these tasks in the first leg of the race?

Answer: Road Block

After the teams arrived in Old Montreal in Leg 1, a series of small to-dos would lead them to La Grande Roue on the edge of the St. Lawrence River, and there they would need to choose one team member to engage with the race's first Road Block task. This particular one required racers to climb to the top of the ferris wheel to collect their next clue, a Detour, which would then need to be selected and completed before they raced to their first Pit Stop in the historic Rialto Theatre.
3. The Prince of Wales Hotel, encountered in Waterton Lakes National Park at the end of Leg 2, featured which of these types of Pit Stops?

Answer: A keep-on-racing Pit Stop

After teams spent a leg of the race in Montreal, Quebec, Leg 2 sent them due west to encounter challenges in and around Lethbridge, Alberta, taking on traditional tasks for the first half of the leg and then taking on a high-tech Road Block in the back half.

At the end of the trail, teams were told to drive to the far southwest of the province to Waterton Lakes, and there they found that Jon would be giving them a clue to head into their third leg of the race in Fernie, B.C.
4. In Leg 4, all teams whitewater rafted down what Canadian waterway?

Answer: Kananaskis River

Teams spent Leg 4 in Kananaskis County around Canmore, Alberta and in the shadow of the Three Sisters Mountains. In addition to teams rafting down a stretch of this chilly waterway, Jully and Kathy and Cassie and Jahmeek, both reentering the race on account of three teams being pulled for COVID-19 isolation, had to inflate rafts to paddle down the river as part of a Speed Bump task.

The latter team would end up last at the Pit Stop at the Canmore Nordic Centre, but they would be spared by a non-elimination leg (saving them once again).
5. Teams encountered four seasons in one day in Leg 5, during which they travelled through what Canadian region?

Answer: The Okanagan Valley

Teams crossed back into British Columbia for the fifth leg of the race, taking a trip through the Okanagan Valley to visit Kelowna and Vernon. In addition to paragliding over the region, some racers took a snowy race through a biathlon course in Silver Star Provincial Park. Teams also had to head into the region's apple orchards to count the local crop before checking in at the Pit Stop where, after accidentally incurring a penalty, Jully and Kathy were eliminated once again.
6. Moments before heading to the race's seventh Pit Stop at Sandbanks Provincial Park (in Ontario), how many teams utilized their Express Passes?

Answer: Two

Both Franca and Nella and Brendan and Connor used their Express Passes in the seventh leg (Jesse and Marika used theirs in Leg 6) to bypass a sign language task waiting for them at the Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf in Belleville, Ontario. This leg was brought to them immediately after a leg in London, Ontario; teams arrived at the Pit Stop there to find that not only would they keep on racing, but they would be headed to Belleville and Prince Edward County (quickly!) to avoid a double elimination at the next Pit Stop.

It was there that Cedric and Tychon and Cassie and Jahmeek were eliminated (the latter for another time).
7. Teams had to solve a murder mystery in what Quebec town in Leg 8?

Answer: Montebello

Teams flew to the nation's capital in Leg 8, starting tasks in Ottawa and crossing over to Gatineau for others, but the final challenges for this stretch of the race had teams driving to the small town of Montebello, Quebec. The six teams headed there completed their first Face Off task for this season (croquet) before completing a local murder mystery and racing on foot to the Pit Stop for the final non-elimination leg of the season.
8. Teams travelled to the Acadian Peninsula in Leg 9, and it was their only trip to the Maritimes in what province?

Answer: New Brunswick

Teams headed to the east coast in Leg 9, stopping for a leg in the province of New Brunswick. There, the six remaining teams were dropped off in Bathurst and travelled around the Acadian Peninsula, one of the earliest established regions of the country (and the continent).

In addition to finishing tasks that allowed them to go back in time to live life in the 17th century, teams had to learn dance moves and pay attention to modern details before checking in on the coastal beaches at the ninth Pit Stop.

It was there that Court and Ali were eliminated in sixth place.
9. In Tobermory in Leg 10, teams dove into the waters of Georgian Bay looking for numbers that would unlock a treasure chest. What was inside?

Answer: Car keys

Flying back west in Leg 10, the final five teams were told to make their way from New Brunswick on the Atlantic Coast to Central Ontario, making a brief visit to Oshawa and Bowmanville before flying to the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron's shores. The first stop there was the town of Tobermory, where teams had to dive into the clear waters to find local shipwrecks. Teams also Faced off in a game of Snooker and joined the Armed Forces before visiting the race's final Pit Stop on Cobble Beach and Beverley and Veronica were eliminated in fifth place.
10. Teams raced to the finish line at the depicted building. They found it in what city?

Answer: Vancouver

BC Place was the last spot for teams to visit in the final leg of the race, one that saw all four teams in the lead at one point or another. Teams raced around all of Vancouver encountering two wildly different Road Blocks, tests of skill, tests of patience, and tests of memory, all en route to the Finish Line where Catherine and Craig took the $250,000 CAD prize.

They were followed by Jesse and Marika, Franca and Nella, and Brendan and Connor in that order.
