Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 1, Road Block participants scaled to the top of which Montréal attraction?

Answer: La Grande Roue de Montréal

Reaching the waterfront in Old Montréal, teams located their first Road Block task in the hands of a walking billboard and were told to choose one racer who would need to be 'well-rounded'. For this challenge, the participating team members had to head to La Grande Roue de Montréal and, strapping themselves in, climb to the top of the ferris wheel, two hundred feet above the ground, to collect their next clue and pieces of the Mjolnir from "Thor: Love and Thunder". Connor, Beverley, Jahmeek, Ali, Craig, Nella, Jully, Jesse, Durrell, and Tychon were selected to complete this challenge.
2. Visiting Lethbridge, Alberta in the second leg of the race, team members played which of these for their Road Block?

Answer: Video games

Heading to a virtual reality and gaming cafe in the city of Lethbridge, teams were required to choose one member who would don a VR headset and controllers to play the rhythm and music game "Rhythmatic". For this, they had to swing and hit blocks to the rhythm of the provided song. If they could hit the targets with a final rate of 90%, they would be presented with their next clue. If not, they'd try again.

This challenge was handled by Franca, Marika, Beverley, Brendan, Cedric, Catherine, Durrell, Cassie, and Court.
3. In Fernie, B.C., teams had to learn and perform choreography related to which of these in Leg 3?

Answer: Aerobics

To end off Leg 3, teams hit the streets in Fernie, B.C. in their finest neon aerobicswear and one team member, selected as per usual based on a cryptic clue, was tasked with learning a choreographed aerobics routine to be performed in front of a large crowd on 2nd Avenue. If Connor, Jesse, Ali, Craig, Veronica, Tychon, Dennis, Nella, and Jahmeek could get their right moves down and prove to be a high-energy leader, they could receive their next clue and race onward to the Pit Stop.
4. How many Road Blocks did teams complete in Canmore, Alberta in Leg 4?

Answer: Two

Racing to Canmore in Kananaskis County, Alberta in Leg 4, teams encountered two wildly different Road Block tasks in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. For the first, teams had to learn how to replicate a diamond hitch knot at a Kananaskis River ranch while the second task, completed by the teammate who did not finish the knot, involved riding adaptive eBikes around a slalom course at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

This leg of the race did not contain a Detour as a result of this double Road Block instance.
5. In Leg 5, teams racing through the Okanagan Valley revisited a Road Block challenge previously seen in another season of the race. What sport did it involve?

Answer: Biathlon

Interestingly, Leg 5 was the second leg in a row in which racers had two Road Block tasks back-to-back. This time around, the first team member selected had to perform a tandem paraglide over the Okanagan Valley. The second teammate, automatically required to complete the second Road Block, was sent to the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre to participate in a biathlon, racing 300m on cross-country skis and then hitting five targets on the firing range. Failure to hit the targets meant making another loop to replenish their ammunition.
6. In the Road Block encountered by teams in London, Ontario in Leg 6, racers had to work with which animals?

Answer: Dogs

Arriving at the Middlesex Agility Club outside London, Ontario, team members were tasked with selecting a trained dog and leading it through and along nineteen obstacles in an agility course. Brendan, Tychon, Veronica, Franca, Craig, Marika, Jahmeek, and Court were all selected to make new best friends, ensuring their dog partners completed the course in under forty-five seconds to collect their next clue.
7. In the eighth Leg of the race, team members rode in a biplane over which region of Canada?

Answer: The Ottawa Valley

Racing through the Ottawa-Gatineau region in Leg 8, teams headed from the Canadian Museum of History to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum where one team member needed to find the de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver and grab a ticket to ride over the region.

In the air, if the participant located a giant letter M created in an open field, they would be able to land, collect their clue, and head onward to the Quebec village of Montebello. Nella, Marika, Veronica, Catherine, Ali, and Brendan were selected to complete this challenge.
8. Team members encountered a dance Road Block in Leg 9 when they visited New Brunswick, but what style of dance did they need to learn?

Answer: Stepdance

Visiting the Acadian town of Caraquet in Leg 9, team members split off for a Road Block at a local pub where the participating racers (Connor, Jesse, Catherine, Court, Franca, and Beverley) needed to watch two young dancers perform a traditional stepdance to live fiddle music. If they could replicate all of the steps, moving from a seated position to a standing one to complete the song on the proper beat, then they would receive their next clue. Court and Franca were required to complete this task as per their clue instructions due to their Road Block count to date.
9. In Leg 10, team members completed a precision driving course in Bowmanville, Ontario. Teams could not choose which racer completed the task.

Answer: True

In order to ensure that all teams had equal distribution of Road Block completions going into the final leg (leg 11), racers were informed that Marika, Brendan, Franca, Craig, and Veronica would be required to complete a precision driving course in Leg 10's Road Block at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. For this task, teams had to drive a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with an instructor in the car and finish a test track and precision trial in under two and a half minutes to get their next clue.
10. The final leg of the race contained two Road Block tasks. Which of them involved beating a time limit?

Answer: The second one

Returning to B.C. to end their race off in Vancouver, the final four teams had two Road Blocks, the first of which allowed them to choose a team member while the second forced the other racer to compete. The first of these tasks had the selected team member jump twenty feet down out of a helicopter into Caulfeild Cove while the second had the remaining member complete a rollerskating obstacle course in under seventy-five seconds at the Wallace Shipyards.
