Pete walked up to Addison and kissed her, in 'revenge' for her kissing him on the beach in the last episode. They kept kissing and Dell walked in to tell them that their patients were waiting. He looked surprised to see them making out, but told them not worry, that he would keep what he saw "locked in the Dell vault".

Sam took down the address that his patient gave him, and was confused when he pulled up in front of a Circus Liquor store. Then he saw his patient standing at the door, and motioning for him to come in. When he went in, he found out what was wrong - the store clerk was sitting on the floor, holding his bleeding leg, and screaming "She shot me!". Sam looked around for "she" and saw a young woman brandishing a gun in his face, demanding that he fix up the bullet wound in the clerk.

Her husband, Jason, had been killed in the line of duty and she was having trouble adjusting. One of Jason's colleagues, Kevin, showed up at practice, wanting to be with Susan when she delivered the baby. Susan refused because it was not part of her plan (which involved a water birth in a tub, coached by Addison and Pete). Kevin did not leave, though, and soon the clinic's waiting room was full of police officers who wanted to be in there in support of Susan.

The woman with the gun, Kelly, kept screaming "I need a doctor" and Sam, trying to tend to the store clerk with very few supplies, snapped "I am a doctor!" The woman then said she needed a doctor for herself because her water just broke and she stepped aside to reveal her very pregnant body.

It turned out that the store clerk was her ex-boyfriend who broke up with her, and she went to rob his store to get money and supplies to care for the baby. Kelly refused to go to the hospital, and after a quick call to Naomi to find out what to do, Sam had to deliver the baby in the convenience store.

Naomi was looking after a pregnant woman who already had three sons. She had come just for a check-up, but Naomi discovered that she was already in labour and that she would deliver that day. While Naomi was on the phone with Sam, she sent Dell in to monitor the woman's contractions.

The woman told Dell that she'd already done this three times, and she knew the feeling that the baby was coming right then and all he had to do was catch it. Dell scrambled to the phone to page Naomi, but by the time she got there, Dell was holding a newborn baby in his hands.

He apologized to Naomi, saying the baby had "just jumped right out", but he was very excited and proud of himself for having delivered the baby without any help.

At the beginning of the episode, Violet was acting irritable, and Cooper suggested she probably just needed to have sex. Violet thought about it and decided that he was right, and she just needed to find someone who would sleep with her, no strings attached.

She asked Cooper and he agreed wholeheartedly and they made a date to meet at her house that night. However, when they were in Violet's bedroom undressing, he watched her take her clothes off and then decided that he couldn't go through with it, because they were such good friends. Violet got very upset, and kicked him out of her house.

She had flirted with Kevin a little bit during the day, but when he asked her out for a drink that evening, she politely declined. He told her, maybe some other time, and then left. Addison declined because she already had plans that night; she was expecting Pete at her house at eight o'clock.

After leaving Violet's house, Cooper showed up at Addison's front door. He said he had been going to Sam's house to talk to him, but Sam wasn't home, and he noticed that Addison was alone. He asked her if she was supposed to have a date with Pete, and she replied, yes, an hour ago. Addison was sad that Pete stood her up, but invited Cooper to stay and order pizza and get really fat with her.

Violet answered a knock at her door, thinking it would be Cooper coming to apologize. She was surprised to find Pete there and asked him what was wrong. Pete had been troubled by the day of 'baby palooza' at the clinic, and because he had been tending to the young widow who was giving birth, it made him think about his late wife.

He revealed to Violet that he and his wife had been trying to conceive when she passed away. Violet invited him in to talk about it.
