Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode began with a dream; what was the setting of the dream?

Answer: an elevator

Addison was dreaming about her and Pete making out in the elevator at work. The dream ended with Addison falling out of bed. She confessed to Naomi that she had been having dreams about Pete, and she had several more throughout the episode, each ending with her falling out of bed.
2. Who did Violet say is her fantasy man?

Answer: Bill Clinton

Naomi told Violet that Addison was dreaming about Pete. Violet told the two of them about her fantasy involving Bill Clinton - the year is 2010, Bill and Hillary have grown apart. She runs into Bill at the Lincoln Memorial and they have a wild night. Violet's point was to let Addison know that it is perfectly normal to fantasize about someone to help her 'scratch the itch' on her own. Addison replied that she didn't do that, leaving Violet and Naomi perplexed.

It was Naomi who suggested that Addison invest in a good showerhead.
3. Maya went to Addison and told her that she thought she had what?

Answer: an STD

Maya phoned Addison and asked her not to tell Naomi that she was consulting her. She told Addison she thought she had an STD and asked for some medicine to clear it up. Addison was horrified that Naomi and Sam's daughter was sexually active at such a young age, but it turned out to be Maya's friend that was actually having a problem; she had just asked Maya to help her and get the medication for her.
4. Pete treated a young athlete in this episode. What was her sport?

Answer: running

The running coach asked Pete to see what he could for the young runner, Nicole. She thought she just had a bit of a cold, but Pete determined that it was much more serious and that she would need to stop running while they treated it. Nicole was heartbroken because she had races coming up that would determine her qualification for the Olympics.
5. What did Cooper tell Addison he was doing, vis a vis Violet's situation with Allan?

Answer: disengaging

Addison sought Cooper's advice about Maya's problem, because she wasn't sure how she could keep it from Naomi and Sam. Cooper reminded her that her responsibility was to the patient and she had to keep all information confidential. He told Addison to "disengage" and that that was what he was doing with Violet and Allan. Allan had just come back into Violet's life and was attempting to be "just friends" with her. Cooper thought that Violet was falling into the same old trap, but he didn't want to get involved anymore.
6. What did we find out about Dr. Charlotte King?

Answer: she runs marathons

Pete was running tests on Nicole at St. Ambrose Hospital and Dr. King walked in. She said she wanted to meet Nicole before she started seeing her picture on the Wheaties box. Pete gave her a quizzical look, and by way of explaining how she knew about Nicole, Charlotte said "I run marathons, okay?" Pete turned to Nicole and said a little sarcastically "This is Dr. Charlotte King.

She runs marathons."
7. What setback did Dell encounter with his second patient?

Answer: she thought he was too cute

As part of his midwife training, Dell was supposed to perform a Pap smear all on his own. He got really nervous with his first patient, who spent the whole time talking on her cell phone, and dropped the instruments on the floor. She wasn't impressed with him.

His second patient was a younger woman and she said that Dell was way too cute to be poking around down there, "unless you want to", said with a suggestive smile. His third patient was an older woman who said that Dell looked to be about five years old and that she wasn't going to let such a young boy anywhere near "Ladytown". Dell finally had enough and ranted to the third woman about how qualified he was and how he would give "Ladytown" the most respectful, thorough exam that it would ever get.

He managed to impress the woman, and she let him perform the procedure.
8. Sam recommended that his patient, Beth, take memory-altering drugs.

Answer: False

Beth was attacked by a rapist in her own home. She was fine, physically, and asked Sam if she could get an innovative drug that would make her forget the event. Sam asked Violet about it, and after Violet met with Beth and her husband, she said that it was her opinion that Beth could get past her ordeal without the help of medication.
9. What problem did Maya's friend Ruby have?

Answer: ectopic pregnancy

It was revealed that it was Ruby having problems when Maya called Addison and asked her to come to her house. Ruby was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. They rushed her to the hospital and Addison had to scrub in for surgery, because Ruby was having extreme complications with a late stage ectopic pregnancy (which occurs when the fetus develops in a fallopian tube rather than in the uterus).
10. What made Addison compare Pete to a cowboy and a gladiator?

Answer: he had punched someone

Pete hit Nicole's running coach because the coach had given her a performance enhancing drug to "help" her sickness, rather than pulling her out of the race. It just made Nicole sicker and she collapsed on the track. Pete had to break the news to Nicole that because of this, she may never race again rather than just the few months that it would have taken otherwise.

Then he went and found the coach, and punched him. When Pete arrived back at the practice, he told Addison what had happened. She was impressed and said that he was like a cowboy or a gladiator, and then rushed off. Pete asked her where she was going and she told him that him as a gladiator or cowboy would help her 'scratch the itch'.

He said that he didn't need to know that, and she went home and installed her new showerhead.
