Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first scene shows Springfield Elementary's classes engaging in some Christmas themed festivities. Which of these themes is depicted by Lisa's second grade?

Answer: Santa Clauses From Around The World

Lisa is the main student involved in the Santa Clauses From Around The World act. Her impression of "Tawanga, the Santa Claus of the South Seas" involves some rather risqué clothing, a witch doctor mask and a fire juggling act that any 8 year old would have been proud of.
2. The Christmas theme continues with Bart's fourth grade class performing which traditional Christmas song together?

Answer: Jingle Bells

Whilst the remainder of his class sing the traditional lyrics to "Jingle Bells", Bart sing his own interpretation: "Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg. Batmobile broke its wheel, the Joker got awa-" - at which point he is removed from the stage by Principal Skinner.
3. Back at home the Simpson children are writing their Christmas lists ready to send to Santa. What present does Lisa request several times on her Christmas wish list?

Answer: Pony

Lisa's list contains a request for a pony on six separate occasions. Marge tries to discourage her daughter from asking for such an expensive present by explaining that a pony won't fit inside Santa's sleigh.
4. Which of the Simpsons is outside attempting to successfully set up their Christmas decorations?

Answer: Homer

Homer's attempts to decorate the house end up in a disastrous failure. Not only are most of the decorations falling down but when Marge turns on the electricity very few of the bulbs are actually working. Homer's shame is increased when his neighbour Ned Flanders turns on his decorations that work perfectly, including a talking Santa on his roof.
5. Bart goes against his parents' wishes by going to a tattoo parlour and getting a tattoo done, lying to the tattoo artist about his age in the process. What does Bart end up with on his arm when he leaves the shop?

Answer: "Moth"

Marge finds her son more than halfway through the tattoo being done and immediately puts an end to it. The removal of the tattoo ends up costing the Simpsons all the money they had saved throughout the year to buy Christmas presents.
6. Homer doesn't get his expected annual Christmas bonus as Mr. Burns cancels the bonuses for "semi-skilled workers" to ensure that the management keep their bonuses. In order to avoid telling Marge this Homer asks to do the Christmas shopping himself. Where does he end up going to get the presents?

Answer: Circus Of Values

Homer is enticed into the Circus of Values by their tagline of "Nothing Over $4.99". The presents end up being a six-pack of panty hose for Marge, pads of paper for Bart, and a squeak toy pork chop (normally for dogs) for Maggie.
7. Whilst drinking at Moe's in a depressed state, Homer stumbles upon a chance to earn extra money by being a Santa at the mall. After some strict training and lots of hard work how much money does the job end up paying?

Answer: $13

Homer enrolls on a course to become a mall Santa, learning such things as the correct way to say "Ho, Ho, Ho!" and incorrectly naming Santa's reindeer ("Nixon" being an inaccurate guess). Homer eventually ends up passing the course but his disguise is rumbled by Bart. Homer earns $120 in total but after a series of taxes it ends up being a net income of $13.

The taxes are: Social Security, unemployment insurance, Santa training, costume purchase, less beard rental and an unspecified "Christmas Club".
8. Whilst Homer, Bart and Barney head over to the Greyhound track to gamble Homer's earnings on one race, Marge, Lisa and Maggie are at home with which of their relatives?

Answer: Patty, Selma and Grandpa

Lisa is watching the adventures of the "Happy Little Elves" on television whilst Patty and Selma spend most of the evening bad-mouthing Homer. Their insults only end when Lisa launches an impassioned plea to them to not criticise her father, the main male role model she will have in her life.
9. Homer unsuccessfully gambles his Santa earnings at the Greyhound track, whilst Barney picks a 12-1 winner called Whirlwind and celebrates in style. What is the name of the dog that Homer picks which finishes last?

Answer: Santa's Little Helper

Santa's Little Helper is a last minute replacement runner at odds of 99-1 to win. It finishes last by a long way and is kicked out by its owner shortly afterwards. Homer and Bart rescue Santa's Little Helper and bring him home as a Christmas present for the whole family.
10. Before the episode ends there is one last chance for some Christmas singing! The whole family lend their voices to the singing of which Christmas song that closes out the show?

Answer: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

As with "Jingle Bells" earlier, the Simpson children are on hand to include some different lyrics to this traditional song. Bart adds that Rudolph's nose glows "like a lightbulb", Lisa suggests "Pergola" as a name the other reindeer call Rudolph, "strip poker" is the reindeer game of choice according to Bart, and Rudolph will go down in history like "Attila The Hun". Thanks for playing!
