This episode begins with Bart and Homer doing work on the front lawn. While Bart uses Homer's manual lawn mower, Rod Flanders is next door using Ned's riding lawn mower (with an umbrella and a cold drink). Bart tries to get Homer to buy a riding lawn mower, but Homer states that they should not try to compete with the Flanders family.

This is when Ned drives up with a new RV, complete with satellite dish. Homer can't figure out how Ned can pay for it, but Ned tells him that he just uses credit.

After talking to Flanders, Homer decides that the family should invest in an RV, and he sets his sights on the RV lot's most expensive product, the Ultimate Behemoth. This RV comes equipped with a wood-burning fireplace, chandelier, big-screen TV, and four deep-fryers (one for each part of the chicken). Homer soon discovers that his credit rating isn't good enough, and that the Ultimate Behemoth is a bit out of his price range.

Bob the RV salesman ends up using his sales techniques in order to persuade Homer into buying the worst RV on the lot without consulting his family. When Homer and the family packs up for a camping vacation, he shows the RV to Ned. Although Homer thinks that Ned is jealous, Ned simply hopes that the family will have a great time on their trip and that they will enjoy their new RV.

Answer: It's driven over a cliff

Homer decides to take the family's RV, filled to the roof with belongings, on an offroad journey through the forest because he thinks that the vehicle can handle the environment. When the family yells at him to stop, he ends up parking with the front half of the RV over the edge of the cliff. Luckily, the family sneaks out the doors, but the RV teeters over the edge and explodes at the bottom of a ravine. Homer remains optimistic.

After deciding that the family may be doomed, Homer sets Marge and Lisa up with a small shelter (which Marge doesn't think of as a shelter) before taking Bart to find help. Marge allows Maggie to follow the two, but they are unaware that she is tagging along.

As the vultures circle the family overhead, Bart and Homer talk about animals sensing fear. When Maggie begins sucking on her pacifier, Bart and Homer flee in fear.

After Homer and Bart accidentally fall off a cliff (and a waterfall), Maggie is left unattended on the forest path and a bear approaches her from behind. Unphazed by the bear's roars and growls, Maggie sticks a pacifier into its mouth and calms it down. Meanwhile, having lost their clothes on the trip down the waterfall, Bart and Homer create new outfits out of leaves, mud, moss, and twigs.

When Homer and Bart find that their adventure through the forest is making them hungry, Homer devises a plan to make a trap and capture a local forest creature. Using a sapling and a leaf, he attracts a rabbit, but his trap flings the bunny across the woods. Homer also has a Plan B though.

He decides to flush out some creatures by making a lot of noise in the bush. This also turns bad when the creatures begin to attack him in defense.

While Maggie waits in the bear cave, the bears that took her in go out and gather baby necessities like toys and milk from local campsites. Meanwhile, Lisa and Marge are back at their makeshift campsite where they've cleaned up, built a shelter, and made a fire. Bart and Homer, on the other hand, are left shivering in the cold in the middle of the forest.

After coming along a beehive in the wilderness, Homer swallows a handful of honey filled with bees. He runs to the nearest source of water (which is actually filled with mud), where a man is using his video camera to film wildlife. When Homer runs into the mud, he gets coated in it and his mouth is stuck together with honey. Because of this, the man taping the incident thinks that Homer is Bigfoot and the media gets a hold of the tape. Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa are found by park rangers and Marge identifies Bigfoot as her husband.

Once the media gets a hold of this information, they use it in their stories about Bigfoot. After finding Maggie, Bart and Homer come across the crowd of reporters who immediately shoot him with a tranquilizer. After extensive biological examinations, they release Homer, but they are still unsure if he's a below-average human or a brilliant beast.
