Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Part Three -- "Strange Bedfellows" Legate Damar is introduced to the Breen representative, Thot Gor, and finally shown the treaty between the Breen Confederacy and the Dominion that he is expected to sign. What part of the treaty, its details contained in a secret protocol, does Damar object to?

Answer: Some Cardassian territories will be given to the Breen

"I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood you. It sounded as if you were implying that Cardassian territory doesn't belong to the Founders. Surely that isn't what you meant?" -- Weyoun

Careful to hide her condition, the Founder meets her new Breen allies, promising that the Federation will not stand a chance against their combined forces. When Damar sees the treaty, he expresses indignation over the unnamed and unnumbered Cardassian planets the Founder has given to the Breen, displeased that she did not seek his consent on the matter. Weyoun questions his submission to the Founders; Damar reluctantly takes back his words.
2. Having reached Cardassia Prime, Worf and Ezri are informed that they will be tried as war criminals, found guilty, and executed. Weyoun gives them an opportunity to aid the Dominion and receive a reduced sentence, and concludes with a jab about Ezri's feelings for Julian. How does Worf respond?

Answer: He breaks his neck

"Overconfidence. The hallmark of the Weyouns." -- Damar, with laughter

Weyoun parries Ezri's sarcasm with the remark that it would be a shame if she died before Bashir knew of her feelings for him, and Worf wastes no time in snapping the Vorta's neck, to Damar's wry amusement. When replacement Weyoun 8 asks if either prisoner has decided to cooperate, Damar suggests, "Maybe you should talk to Worf again!" Damar himself, however, is threatened with execution if he fails to cooperate with the Founder's latest order, placing him beneath Thot Gor in the chain of command.
3. Their relationship progressing apace, Bajor's greatest enemy and its so-called religious leader are viewed by Ranjen Solbor with well-founded misgivings. When Winn learns that her visions came from the Pah-wraiths, she is appalled. What happens when she looks into an Orb for guidance?

Answer: Nothing, the Prophets won't speak to her

"They [the Prophets] have forsaken me because I have been in communion with the evil ones!" -- Winn

While Winn plays into her Guide's hands, she learns in a vision the true source of her task: she is the chosen one of the Pah-wraiths. Dukat smiles as he goes after the Orb. When Winn looks into it and sees nothing, he begins to unravel his deception. Attempting to refute the Pah-wraith's reputation as evil ones, he gives her food for thought in their ability to grant the power she craves. Dismissing Kira's suggestion that she step down as Kai, Winn declares to "Anjohl" her commitment in walking the path of the Pah-wraiths.
4. Awaiting execution, Ezri contemplates her contribution to the Dax symbiont's legacy -- ending it -- and she and Worf finally come to terms, admitting their mistakes and accepting each other's friendship. How do they escape the death sentence?

Answer: Damar frees them and gives them a ship

"I want you to give a message to the Federation. Tell them they have an ally on Cardassia." -- Damar

After futilely confronting Weyoun about the brutal defeat at Septimus III, where 500,000 Cardassian soldiers were left to die, Damar decides to act. He arrives at Ezri and Worf's holding cell, ostensibly to escort them to their execution. Instead, he shoots the Jem'Hadar guards and directs Ezri and Worf to a ship, with a message for the Federation. Weyoun is left with the unenviable task of alerting the Founder to the escape. Attributing the jailbreak to Weyoun's Jem'Hadar guards, Damar gives "encouragement" with the reminder that if the Founder isn't understanding, he'll be awaiting Weyoun 9's entrance.
5. Part Four -- "The Changing Face of Evil" Ezri and Worf arrive back on DS9 just in time to hear a priority transmission from Earth: the Breen have attacked Starfleet headquarters, a blow that proves the worth of the Dominion's new allies in Weyoun's estimation. What Earth landmark do we see on Sisko's monitor, showing heavy damage?

Answer: The Golden Gate Bridge

"We've learned one thing about the Breen today, Captain. They're a race of warriors." -- Martok

Watching a visual from San Francisco that shows a ravaged Golden Gate Bridge, Sisko and Martok reflect on the enemy they know so little about. The Breen attack on Starfleet headquarters evidences their boldness as warriors, and took a heavy toll on both sides. At Dominion HQ, Weyoun showers praise on the Breen. Damar remarks to Thot Gor that Cardassia once held such a celebrated position, and advises him to watch his back: if the Breen fail to bring swift victory, the blame may fall on them as well.
6. Kai Winn wearies of the pretense of serving the Prophets, but Dukat, still in disguise as "Anjohl," assures her that soon, when the Pah-wraiths are released, she will rule with him at her side in the paradise they are bringing to Bajor. What ancient text describes the means of achieving this "Restoration"?

Answer: The Kosst Amojan

"It will be the dawn of paradise. And you, Adami, are destined to rule it." -- Dukat

Winn expresses concern when "Anjohl" talks of releasing the Pah-wraiths from the fire caves, since tradition holds that this means the end of Bajor. He promises that, in the new Bajor that rises from the ashes, the Pah-wraiths will safeguard those they find worthy, including Adami. The knowledge needed to bring this Restoration is in the Kosst Amojan, an evil book forbidden to all but the Kai. For the first time in 700 years, the book is brought out of the archives and opened: its pages, however, are blank.
7. A diversion from the current uncertainty of the war and potential for it to hit closer to home, Miles and Julian continue in their holosuite adventures. At Quark's, they pore over a rather large model built by Miles. To which of their programs does it correspond?

Answer: The Battle of the Alamo

"That's what happens when you share your toys." -- Kira, consoling Miles over the loss of Travis

Julian (Colonel Travis, that is) is fed up with continually losing the Battle of the Alamo. He and Miles study the scale model, debating how best to fortify the mission and change the outcome. Quark watches with disbelief at their calm in the face of the advancing Breen, and Worf declares to Ezri that the childish exercise is a futile one, without more men to defend the Alamo. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes when Julian loses the Travis figurine.
8. When the Allies' lone foothold in Dominion territory, the Chin'toka system, is targeted by the Breen, the Defiant takes its place in the fierce battle to hold it. However, the enemy strikes unexpectedly with an energy weapon for which the Allied ships have no defense. Does the USS Defiant survive this battle?

Answer: No

"The Defiant was the finest ship I ever commanded. There'll never be another one like her." -- Sisko

The Second Battle of Chin'toka is the Breen Confederacy's first match against the combined forces of Romulus, Qo'noS, and the Federation. Only one Allied ship survives; even the Defiant succumbs to the Breen's devastating energy weapon. Captain Sisko must give the order to abandon ship, and soon after the escape pods launch, the Defiant's hull shatters. The victorious Founder allows the survivors safe passage away, so that their account of the battle will spread fear in the Federation.
9. When Winn attempts to deny Solbor's accusations and the revelation that her Guide and inamorato is none other than Gul Dukat, Solbor vows to stop her and declares her a traitor to Bajor. She goes to destroy the evil, seemingly blank book of the Pah-wraiths, but its text suddenly appears. How?

Answer: Blood, from the knife with which she killed Solbor

"Anjohl Tennan died nine years ago in the labor camp at Batal. I warned you not to trust him. I had a sample of his DNA sequenced. He's not even a Bajoran. He's a Cardassian." -- Solbor

Solbor's apprehension grows as Winn sends for more dark texts, and he tries to sneak them away while she sleeps. Dukat catches the elderly ranjen and, striking him, returns the books. When Solbor reveals Dukat's identity, Winn initially shrinks back from the Cardassian, and stabs Solbor in the back to protect herself from exposure. She goes to destroy the Kosst Amojan, but its pages are ignited by dripping blood, and the text is revealed. Dukat sees to removing the body. Their quest continues.
10. Damar's underground resistance acts to begin freeing Cardassia from what have become its occupying forces. Hope grows among the Allies when Damar delivers a speech urging all Cardassians to resist, and announces his attack on the Dominion at Rondac III. What was the attack's target?

Answer: Cloning facilities

"I could be the last Weyoun. That's why he picked that target." -- Weyoun 8

In a message to his people, Damar reports that in the two years since Cardassia signed its treaty, seven million soldiers have died for the Dominion, who has given nothing in exchange and taken their freedom. "Instead of the invaders, we have become the invaded. Our allies have conquered us without firing a shot." Fighting to liberate his home, Damar orders an attack on a Dominion outpost which happens to house a Vorta cloning facility. Coming at a critical point in the war, the Cardassian resistance becomes crucial to the Alpha Quadrant's survival.
