Kira's trip was to rescue Lorit Akrem. He had recruited her into the Shakaar resistance cell during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Dukat, however, had a more sinister motive. It turned out that he had a Bajoran mistress with whom he had a daughter. Family was very important for Cardassians and therefore if his half-Bajoran daughter were to become public knowledge on Cardassia, his position would be severely weakened.

2. Alexander Siddig IS James Bond. Well nearly. The good Doctor received a new holosuite mystery to star in when a transporter accident introduced the rest of the senior staff into his adventure. Which "DS9" episode was this?

Answer: Our Man Bashir

There were some great quotes in this episode. I particularly like Garak's comment: "Kiss the girl, get the key. They never taught me that in the Obsidian Order".

There were many references to James Bond films during this episode, including the stardate of 49300.7. After the episode aired, MGM wrote to the producers. It would appear they were unimpressed!

3. Inspired by one of Chief O'Brien's ancestors, he formed a U-N-I-O-N with the rest of Quark's employees. Naturally, this attracted the attention of the Ferengi Commerce Authority! In which episode did Rom do the unthinkable?

Answer: Bar Association

In Ferengi society, unions were forbidden and initially, some of the other Ferengi workers were shocked by Rom's suggestion. When Quark was unresponsive to the workers' demands, they went on strike. This led to both the Ferengi Commerce Authority and the Federations trying to settle things.

By the end of the episode, Rom has left his brother's employment and joined the station's maintenance staff.

4. When Starfleet agreed to provide Cardassia with industrial replicators, the true allegiance of two recurring characters is revealed. This causes problems for Captain Sisko when he is lured away from the station in the Defiant enabling the Maquis to steal the replicators. Which episode is this?

Answer: For The Cause

Lt. Commander Eddington briefed Captain Sisko that he believed Kasidy Yates was a member of the Maquis and didn't want the responsibility of finding out! Eddington took the opportunity whilst Sisko was following the Xhosa to stun Major Kira and take command of DS9. Ordering a communications blackout, Eddington was able to deliver the replicators to the Maquis as opposed to the Cardassians.

5. In which "DS9" is Worf put on trial by the Klingons for allegedly destroying a transport full of civilians whilst on convoy duty?

Answer: Rules Of Engagement

It seemed that Lt. Commander Worf had acted on his warrior instincts in the heat of battle. But was there something amiss? Captain Sisko arranged for Odo to look into the matter further whilst he conducted Worf's defence. Fortunately, the Klingons were being duplicitous and trying to frame Worf to try and discredit the Federation.

6. The recently disgraced Dukat had become the captain of a freighter and had to escort Major Kira to a conference. The Klingons got there first and destroyed the colony where the conference was to take place so Kira helped Dukat commandeer their Bird of Prey. In which "DS9" episode does this occur?

Answer: Return To Grace

In "Return To Grace", we saw the consequences of Dukat returning to Cardassia with Ziyal. The freighter he commanded could not even puncture a Bird of Prey's hull with its shields down!

When Dukat had command of the Bird of Prey, the Cardassian government offered him his old job back, however he declined on the basis he didn't want to work for a military that was not interested in fighting.

7. Quark offered his remains for sale and received a generous bid, which he promptly accepted... only to find he had been incorrectly diagnosed. In which episode was Quark diagnosed with a terminal disease?

The mysterious bid was from Liquidator Brunt of the Ferengi Commerce Authority. Unfortunately, he was not prepared to accept a refund or anything other than Quark's remains. "A contract is a contract is a contract" but would Quark honour it?

8. O'Brien and Bashir's runabout crashed on a planet. Unfortunately, a Jem'Hadar ship had also crashed. The First was no longer addicted to ketracel white and wanted the same for his men and the Doctor felt compelled to help. In which "DS9" episode did this happen?

Whilst Bashir was prepared to try and help the Jem'Hadar overcome their addiction, O'Brien was more wary. Julian ordered him to assist, however O'Brien disobeyed and destroyed Julian's equipment, preventing any further work on a cure.

9. What's worse than the Jem'Hadar? Renegade Jem'Hadar! One of the upper pylons is broken. The senior staff take the Defiant into the Gamma Quadrant and team up with some loyal Jem'Hadar to stop the renegades from gaining control of an Iconian gateway. Which "DS9" episode tells this story?

Answer: To The Death

"To The Death" marked the first episode in which Jeffrey Combs played the role of Weyoun, however he is killed by the Jem'Hadar First at the end of the episode. According to memory-alpha.org, the way Combs performed as Weyoun resulted in the producers making the Vorta a race of clones specifically so that he would be able to reprise the role in subsequent episodes.

10. Captain Sisko had always been uncomfortable with his role as Emissary to the Bajoran people. When a poet from Bajor's past emerged from the wormhole and claimed he was the Emissary, Sisko was happy to relinquish the post, until Akorem advocated the reintroduction of Bajor's caste system. What was the title of this episode?

Answer: Accession

Akoren Laan had mysteriously disappeared and did not know that the Cardassian occupation had taken place. He believed that by restoring the caste system that the hurt caused by the occupation would be erased. Captain Sisko was unhappy about this as the restoration of the caste system would make Bajor ineligible for Federation membership. There was therefore only one was to ascertain who was the true Emissary... a visit to the Prophets!
