3. The captain of the Enterprise immediately preceding Captain Kirk was named Captain Christopher ________.

Answer: Pike

Captain Pike was portrayed by Jeffrey Hunter in the original pilot episode ("The Cage") of "TOS". After the pilot was rejected, Hunter decided not to continue with any further attempts at making the series. For the reworked version of the pilot, entitled "The Menagerie", Pike was played by Sean Kenney. Pike was again seen in the 2009 "Star Trek" movie reboot, played by Bruce Greenwood.

4. Everyone has their enemies, but who are the natural adversaries to the non-corporeal beings that the Bajorans consider to be their Prophets?

Answer: Pah-Wraiths

The Prophets and the Pah-Wraiths used to both reside within the Celestial Temple (wormhole), although at some stage the Pah-Wraiths were imprisoned in the fire caves on Bajor.

5. In "Star Trek: Voyager", the crew encountered a race called the Vidiians. What infliction were they suffering from?

Answer: The Phage

The Vidiians were encountered in the fifth episode of the first season of "VOY". While Neelix was on an away mission, he was attacked. It was later determined that his lungs had been removed from his body. The Vidiians had made it a practice to harvest needed organs from people (without their consent) in order to combat the disease. The Phage was breaking down their genetic codes and cellular structures, leaving them looking most gruesome.

6. After Doctor Bashir's genetic status had been revealed, he worked with four other genetically enhanced humans. Which one posed as an Admiral, concealing his identity by always answering "That's a stupid question"?

Answer: Patrick

On the first occasion Bashir was working with Patrick, Jack, Sarina and Lauren, they were able to work out recent events involving the Dominion, Ziyal's death and Damar's rise to power just by watching a speech Damar was giving.

Unfortunately, they also calculated that there was no way the Federation could win a war with the Dominion and recommended that Sisko surrendered. This did not go down well. Bashir was, however able to prevent this from happening.

7. "P" is for Paris: In the "Voyager" two part episode "Workforce," the crew was drugged which suppressed their memories, given new identities, and put to work at an energy plant. There was a great labor shortage. Would it be true to say that Tom Paris became a valued employee who excelled at his duties at the energy plant?

Answer: No

This is not true. In fact, despite the great shortage of workers, he was fired. He was fired by none other than Annika Hansen (Seven of Nine), the efficiency monitor, after a disagreement. He eventually persuaded the proprietor of a bar to hire him.

8. "P" is for Prey. In the "Voyager" episode "Prey," the Hirogen were hunting a member of which alien race, the prey, that came on board the Enterprise?

Answer: Species 8472

The Hirogen saw all other species as prey to be hunted. Their whole lives were consumed with the hunt and the kill. A wounded member of Species 8472 hid on board the Enterprise. The Alpha-Hirogen was also on the Enterprise in Sickbay being treated for injuries after being rescued by the Voyager crew and of course he wanted to pursue his prey. Janeway was dead set against this and wanted to return the creature to fluidic space.

Species 8472 was their Borg designation and were able to resist assimilation by the Borg due to their extremely advanced biology.

9. In the "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "Flashback" (and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country"), Captain Sulu encountered an energy wave. What was the name of the Klingon moon had been destroyed, resulting in the energy wave's creation?

Answer: Praxis

The events surrounding the Klingon peace talks that followed the destruction of Praxis were told in "The Undiscovered Country". 10. What was the name of the starship on which a young Ensign Riker served under the then Captain Pressman? At that time, a phased cloaking device was being secretly developed. Unfortunately an accident occurred and most of the crew died.

Answer: Pegasus

As told in the "TNG" episode "The Pegasus", when the phased cloak failed, USS Pegasus partially materialised inside an asteroid. The Romulans had found the asteroid field in which this had occurred and Admiral Pressman arrived on USS Enterprise to try and find the ship first. Unfortunately, this tested the relationship between Picard and Riker as Pressman had ordered Riker not to tell his Captain anything about the reason why the Pegasus was so important.
