Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode began in the Situation Room, where President Bartlet, Leo, and Chairman Fitzwallace were on a video conferencing call with General Wendell and were asked to wait while he took another call. What did Bartlet suggest the General was doing?

Answer: placing a bet

Fitz responded with humor, asking if that was allowed and then volunteering that if it was, he'd like to go make a bet as well.
2. What kind of wit did Deborah Fiderer say President Bartlet had?

Answer: Noel Cowardesque

When President Bartlet called Debbie by the wrong name, she asked if it wasn't too early in the day for his humor. Debbie was then subjected to recounting of a joke Bartlet had made earlier with Leo and Debbie dryly stated that it was clearly never too early for the President's Noel Cowardesque wit.
3. What did C.J. tell the press pool the military operation in Kuhndu was named?

Answer: Safe Haven

The next question in the press conference was whether or not C.J. had decided on a press policy, to which she responded tongue-in-cheek, "Always be upbeat." She then clarified that she didn't get to decide such things for the US Armed Forces.
4. The Senior Staff went to the Oval Office to discuss the tax plan with the President and found him talking with Zoey and Jean Paul. Josh volunteered that the Senior Staff could come back later because the three of them needed to what?

Answer: bond

The President then took Josh aside and whispered in his ear, "If you leave, I'll kill you." In response, Josh leaned in clandestinely and said, "Yes, Sir." The Senior Staff seemed to enjoy President Bartlet's discomfort with Zoey's choice of boyfriend.
5. What had C.J. been hit with the last time they visited Orange County?

Answer: avocado

C.J. told the reporters that boys threw fruits and vegetables at her. In the meeting with Bartlet, she clarified that she'd been wearing a suit, not a dress, and it had been an avocado. Toby told her it could have been worse, and when she asked how, he told her, "They could have hit me."
6. When Will told Toby he thought the speechwriting staff didn't like him very much, how did Toby respond?

Answer: "No. No. No. They don't like you at all."

Toby's always a good one for pointing out the silver lining.
7. On the phone with Sam, what did Will say was going on Monday for which a speechwriting staff was needed?

Answer: environment

Will couldn't tell Sam that it was the tax plan because they were keeping it a secret to benefit Sam's campaign.
8. On the way to California in Air Force One, Toby was shocked to find that Andy was aboard. He described all the dangerous aspects of the plane and then called it a what?

Answer: flying death tube

Toby was obviously concerned about Andy and the twins' welfare, but he's never been very good at tact or delicacy. He went on to call Andy a minivan and questioned her ability to even fit in a seat.
9. Josh told Donna to meet with Ivan Perez to see if he was for real. Donna asked what Litmus test he'd like her to use. What criteria did Josh first suggest?

Answer: shoes and shirt

Then he got serious and said Perez should have a strong opinion of Richard Sutter or else he wasn't playing at Donna's level. Donna seemed flattered that Josh thought she had a level, but he played it off saying that her level was pretty much defined by shirt and shoes.
10. When C.J. told Josh that Interstate-5 had been closed down because of some confusion about when and where Air Force One was landing, he asked if I-5 was a freeway that got used a lot. How did C.J. respond?

Answer: "Not for the last hour and a half, no."

I-5 (and all the freeways in Los Angeles) are of course used more than a lot, so they were definitely causing an inconvenience.
11. President Bartlet was criticizing the Republican tax plan and gave Josh extra points in the discussion because he was both funny and right when he said the plan would stimulate which economy?

Answer: Swiss

Because the Republican plan would benefit the rich, their Swiss bank accounts would see more activity.
12. Did Toby fire the speechwriting staff?

Answer: No

When Will called him in California, he originally said he fired them because they were incompetent, but at the end of the conversation admitted that they had all quiz because of Will.
13. When the President met up with Sam before the rally, Sam asked about Kuhndu. Who did the President say had denied the U.S. access to their airspace?

Answer: France

Bartlet commented that he wasn't sure why the French thought they were going to need it to get from the U.S. to Africa.
14. What did Will pass out to identify the interns?

Answer: sports jerseys

Thereafter he called them by the numbers on their jerseys.
15. Where did Cassie Tatum, the intern who seemed to be the leader of the four, tell Will she went to college?

Answer: London School of Ballet

She later told Will that she had been an American Studies major at the University of Texas. Will told her he knew that; that he had looked through her file.
