Yeah, you toss a handful of seeds at one, no matter what he's doing he's got to stop and pick it up. If he sees a knotted rope, he's got to untie it.

After Mulder shared his thoughts about vampires being obsessive-compulsive, Hartwell chimed in, "Yeah, obsessive... Like Rain Man. It's like when that old boy dropped them matchsticks, he had to pick them all up. Same thing, right?" Mulder corrected him, saying that Rain Man had counted the matches rather than actually picking them up, but agreed that if he'd picked them up he would have been a vampire.

Mulder said it was much harder to shoot out the tires on an RV than it looks, and then confessed that he'd tried a different approach. We then cut to Mulder hanging on for dear life from the back of the trailer, body flat on the ground, being dragged in circles with the RV, screaming "Help!" Hartwell looked on, encouraging Mulder: "Come on, bird dog it! Attaway!" Mulder eventually let go and rolled to the side, landing in a mud puddle. Just then, the RV ran out of gas and slowed to a stop, which Mulder recounted as him and the Sheriff prevailing!

Answer: cream cheese bagel

When Mulder got back to the hotel room, he described himself pitifully: "Tired, frustrated and lacking a solid lead, I just wanted to get cleaned up. I had the sheriff drop me at the motel, which is where I ran into you." Scully then went off on Mulder nagging him about his demands on her: "What do you mean you want me to do another autopsy?! And why do I have to do it right now?! I just spent hours on my feet doing an autopsy, all for you. I do it all for you, Mulder. You know, I haven't eaten since 6:00 this morning, and all that was, was a half a cream cheese bagel, and it wasn't even real cream cheese, it was light cream cheese. And now you want me to run off and do another autopsy?" Finally, Scully left, but not before yelling at Mulder on her way out, "Don't you touch that bed!"

Ronnie said the total was $12.98 and Mulder gave him $13. Perhaps if Mulder had been a better tipper, Ronnie would have spared him.

We'd heard Scully's end of the call before. The phone rang when she was doing the autopsy, but when she picked up, all she heard was groaning and heavy breathing. When Mulder was telling his side of things, though, we realize that he'd called her, but because of the drugs was unable to talk. Scully of course hung up on him, muttering "Creep."

Mulder was drugged, but he had enough presence of mind to grab the bag of sunflower seeds and throw them at Ronnie. Stooping to pick up the seeds, Ronnie admonished Mulder, "Oh, man! What'd you have to go and do that for? You are in big trouble."

Mulder told Scully that, as he lay on the floor by the bed, he saw Scully shoot Ronnie twice square in the chest to no effect. Then Ronnie jumped over the bed at Scully. Scully interrupted Mulder to clarify, asking, "he sort of flew at me like a flying squirrel?" Mulder retorted, "Well, I don't think I'll use the phrase 'flying squirrel' when I talk to Skinner, but ... yeah, that's what happened."

Answer: "Gee, that's a tough one."

As the coroner prepared to state the probably cause of death, he pulled back the sheet covering the body. Upon seeing the stake driven through Ronnie's chest, the man sarcastically said, "Gee, that's a tough one."

Scully reached over to straighten Mulder's tie, but he batted her hands away. He was clearly annoyed and didn't want her help with anything.

Answer: "I was drugged!"

Sitting in the lobby, Scully had encouraged him to keep reminding Skinner that he'd been drugged, but Mulder didn't want the advice, saying "Would you stop that?" Of course, as soon as Skinner stepped out, Mulder used the first excuse he could think of. He seemed like a kid being called into the principal's office!

Mulder had left Scully with Hartwell to watch the cemetery while he went to check out the RV park, saying "Don't say I never did nothing for ya." Sitting in the car, Hartwell gave Scully some coffee, which turned out to be drugged so that she'd pass out.

As Scully succumbed to the effects of the drugged coffee, Hartwell revealed his true nature: "I really need to apologize to you about Ronnie. He makes us all look bad. He's just not who we are anymore. I mean, we pay taxes, we're good neighbors. Old Ronnie, he just ... he can't quite seem to grasp the concept of ... low profile. But though he may be a moron, he is one of our own."

When Ronnie woke up and tried to get out of the coffin, Mulder had to sit on the lid to keep it shut. As Mulder read Ronnie his rights, he sat atop the coffin, trying to keep his balance, looking more like he was riding a mechanical bull than sitting on a coffin! Finally, he said in frustration, "Come on, cut it out, Ronnie." Then Mulder managed to hook his handcuffs to the coffin handles and lock Ronnie in.

Mulder said, "That is... essentially, exactly the way it happened." Scully evasively agreed, "Essentially." Then Mulder snuck in his one dissent: "Except for the part about the buck teeth."
