Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "A Crisis of Faith and Octopus Aliens," who restores Mary's faith in God?

Answer: Sheldon

Mary loses her faith in God when a 16-year-old girl dies in a car accident. Pastor Jeff encourages her to start a new Bible study and start a new garden in their backyard. Mee Maw takes Mary out drinking. Neither of these things make Mary feel better.

However, at night time, when Mary is sitting alone on the front porch, Sheldon tells her "There are 7 billion people in the world and you're the perfect mom for me. What are the odds of that?" This causes Mary to hug Sheldon and thank the lord for him (but not for her other children).
2. To save money on the electric bill, Sheldon tries to build a machine that uses what form of energy?

Answer: Nuclear

When dad tells Sheldon that the electric bill is too high, Sheldon decides to try to build a machine that will save them money. He asks one of his teachers about efficient forms of energy. After rejecting most of the teacher's suggestions, he finally accepts the suggestion of nuclear power. So Sheldon decides to build a nuclear reactor.

He asks Dr. Sturgis how to get radioactive material. Dr. Sturgis suggests getting smoke detectors and telling the companies that it's for a school project so he can get them for free.

Sheldon does just that, but at the end of the episode, the FBI shows up to the house wearing hazmat suits.
3. In "A Math Emergency and Perky Palms," who does Sheldon get into an argument with?

Answer: Dr. Sturgis

Dr. Sturgis gives Sheldon a 95% on a test. Sheldon disputes the wrong answer. This leads to the two of them arguing over the course of the whole episode. Eventually, Dr. Sturgis realizes that he was wrong. He confesses it to Mee Maw, telling her that he is declining with age.

He admits it to Sheldon in the end and fixes the mistake, but tells Sheldon that he did it on purpose to teach Sheldon that being wrong isn't the end of the world. Adult Sheldon, narrating as a voice over, says that Dr. Sturgis was a wise man and if he's ever wrong, he'll admit it.
4. What causes the whole Cooper family to be hated by the entire town?

Answer: A loaf of bread

When Sheldon notices that the bread in his lunch doesn't taste as good as it usually does, he calls the bread company to complain. He finds out that the company has been bought out by a corporation that's determined to make the bread cheaper. He's told that the quality of the bread hasn't changed, but he knows he's being lied to.

He tries to start a petition against the bread company. This catches the attention of the local TV newspeople. Unfortunately, Sheldon says that he admits that communism would solve the problem.

This show takes place during the Cold War, so promoting communism caused the Coopers to be enemies of the whole town.
5. What instrument does Sheldon decide to start playing, in order to become more like Albert Einstein?

Answer: Violin

Sheldon borrows a violin from the woman who told him that he had perfect pitch. He tries to learn how to play it with a tutorial video he watched, but he finds it very frustrating. He also learned that Albert Einstein was Jewish, so he decided to become Jewish.

He asks a rabbi for advice, but then the rabbi tells him "Sheldon, God will never ask you 'Why weren't you Einstein?' but he might ask 'Why weren't you Sheldon?'" This convinces Sheldon to abandon Judaism and the violin.
6. In "A Perfect Score and a Bunsen Burner Marshmallow," who does Sheldon live with?

Answer: Dr. Sturgis

When Sheldon gets a perfect score on a standardized test, colleges start recruiting him. To gain some experience living at college, Sheldon lives with Dr. Sturgis for a night. Everything goes great at first. The two of them are very happy having conversations with each other.

Then, Sheldon has a nightmare. This wakes up Dr. Sturgis, who runs to comfort him, but he bangs his head on the wall, causing Sheldon to try to take care of him instead of vice-versa. Sheldon tries to make tea for Dr. Sturgis, but accidentally causes a fire by doing this.

In the end, Sheldon returns home, making his mom very happy.
7. In the episode that mentions a "Candyland Cheater," Sheldon becomes what?

Answer: School President

Sheldon gets angry that so much of the school's funding goes to football instead of science. He decides to fix this by running for school president. At first, this doesn't go well. No one, not even his family, believes he can win. His opponent, the most popular person in the school, takes his comments out of context and twists them to make him look bad, and people believe this.

However, his family starts supporting him and giving him advice on how to win. Mee Maw says that he must fight the same way his opponent does. Dad says that he should give himself more credit for how brave he is being a boy in high school where everyone is bigger than him. Missy, by knowing his opponent's sister, finds out some facts that Sheldon can use against her. With all of this, plus saying "Don't mess with Texas!" Sheldon wins.

However, it appears he may not have accomplished much by winning when his proposal to remove the words "Under god" inthe Pledge of Allegiance is overruled by the principal.
8. In "A Proposal and a Popsicle Stick Cross," who stays at the Cooper house for a few days?

Answer: Veronica

Despite having broken up with Georgie, Veronica decides to hide with Georgie at the Cooper household to avoid her mother's boyfriend. Her mother's boyfriend shows up at the house and demands to take her home against her will. Georgie tries to defend her, but the man grabs him.

However, dad notices the man grabbing his son and steps in. Dad asks Veronica if she wants to go with the man. She says "No." Dad says "You heard her." The man decides to challenge dad, apparently not knowing that dad is a football coach and a marine.

This doesn't end well for the man. This makes Veronica fall in love with Georgie all over again.
9. In the penultimate episode, who does Pastor Jeff meet?

Answer: Robin

In "A Broken Heart and a Crock Monster," Pastor Jeff stays at the Cooper house because he has problems at home with his wife. Mary convinces him to go home and try to patch things up with his wife, but when he goes home, he finds out that his wife left him.

He considers leaving the church, and his despair causes him to drive unsafely. He gets pulled over by the police. However, officer Robin decides not to give Jeff a ticket. Instead, she promises to go to their church the next day. The next day at church Jeff is very happy because of this and because of all the money that had been raised for church donations. What he didn't know was, Sheldon and Missy raised that money.

They get mad that they don't get any credit for their work.
10. Who do we see at the end of the final episode of the season?

Answer: Future friends of Sheldon

In the final episode of the season, Sheldon announces that he's hosting a Nobel Prize party at 5 AM at his house where they will listen to the Nobel Prize ceremony on the radio. Sheldon ignores Missy's warning that no one will show up. Sure enough, Missy was right. Young Sheldon felt really sad, while adult Sheldon narrated that he knew he was doomed to be alone forever. We then see a bunch of children, who are obviously child versions of adult Sheldon's friends on the Big Bang Theory. We also hear the voices of some of their moms.

After this, adult Sheldon, narrating as a voice over, says "Thankfully I was wrong," fulfilling the promise he made in "A Math Emergency and Perky Palms" that he would admit it if he was ever wrong.
