Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The music in Spin-Dig Galaxy is the same as in which other galaxy?

Answer: Boulder Bowl Galaxy

While the two galaxies utilise different power-ups, they both look and sound the same. In Spin-Dig Galaxy, the Spin Drill is used to drill through surfaces, and to defeat Digga-Leg during the boss battle. In Boulder Bowl Galaxy, the Rock Mushroom comes in handy when smashing through enemies, crystals, wooden fences, other rocks and even for lowering bridges.
2. How many times does the Chimp give you a Power Star?

Answer: Seven

The Chimp challenges Mario to a variety of games across the universe, in exchange for Power Stars. He is first met in Fluffy Bluff Galaxy, and pops up again later in the same galaxy, as well as in Freezy Flake, Melty Monster, Shiverburn, Honeyhop and Slimy Spring Galaxies. His challenges usually involve scoring over a set number of points by defeating enemies.
3. How many stages are there in Grandmaster Galaxy's "The Ultimate Test"? For the sake of this question, assume that a stage ends with a Launch Star.

Answer: Six

The very last galaxy in the game is the Grandmaster Galaxy, and boy, is it tough. The first star, entitled The Ultimate Test, features six distinct stages connected by Launch Stars - a flower grapple path, a flipswitch planet, an electric maze, flip-swap platforms, a set of pull stars, and a series of blocks with a lot of Hammer Bros.

The second star for this galaxy is "The Perfect Run". The challenges are basically the same, except you only have 1 Health the entire time, which ramps up the difficulty significantly.

A word of advice: stock up on 1-Ups beforehand - you're going to need them.
4. How many power-ups are on display in the engine room on Starship Mario?

Answer: Seven

The engine room is where the Lumas convert the energy from the Power Stars collected by Mario into fuel for the starship. Inside, Mario's power-ups are displayed in glass cases, but cannot be used. The seven power-ups on display are: the Cloud Flower, the Rock Mushroom, the Spring Mushroom, the Spin Drill, the Bee Mushroom, the Boo Mushroom and the Fire Flower.

The only other power-up Mario uses is the Rainbow Star, but it isn't displayed in the engine room.
5. In which coloured section on the paintbrush planet is the key in Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy's "Silver Chomp Grudge Match"?

Answer: Green

The Star Ball returns from the previous game, and with it, a new galaxy. The Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy has a distinct art theme, hence its name. Mario must navigate through each planet, avoiding perilous falls and determined Bob-ombs to reach the planet with the Silver Chomp on it, whereupon Mario must knock it off the edge to continue to the finish.

The paintbrush planet is the second planet visited, and a key must be collected to allow access to the next planet. In "Silver Chomp Grudge Match", the key is in the green section, but in "Masterpiece Speed Run", the key is in the blue section.
6. Each world has an associated subtitle. For example, World 1 has "The Great Space Journey Begins". Which world has the subtitle "The Far Reaches of the Universe"?

Answer: World 3

Seen when selecting a game save from the main title screen, each world has an associated subtitle or tagline. These are "The Great Space Journey Begins", "Shooting Through the Stars", "The Far Reaches of the Universe", "The Many Mysteries of the Cosmos", "Trial of the Galaxies", "Bowser in Your Sights", and "Here We Go!", for Worlds 1 to S, respectively.
7. What is the maximum number of 1-Ups Mario can collect on Starship Mario at once? (Note: Don't include the inside of the ship with the Chance Lumas, the nearby Starshroom, or any received from the Mailtoad.)

Answer: Three

There are just three 1-Ups that can be collected on Starship Mario without including the one on the Starshroom, and the numerous ones that could potentially be obtained from the Chance Lumas inside the ship itself. The three extra lives can be obtained by: using the Cloud Flower to reach a cloud suspended high above the ship; breaking Yoshi out of his egg and using the grapple flowers to reach a platform with 10 berries which will result in a 1-Up when they are all eaten; and by spinning the Chance Cube located on the side of the ship.
8. How many Magmaarghs emerge from the lava planets during the first pull-star path of Melty Monster Galaxy's "The Magnificent Magma Sea"?

Answer: Four

After leaping off the starting platform into the pull-star path, three lava planets line the way containing four Magmaarghs in total. Careful manoeuvring between the stars and the monsters is required to get through, as well as a great fling all the way up to the Launch Star.
9. In which of these galaxies will Cosmic Clones NOT appear?

Answer: Honeyhop Galaxy

Cosmic Clones are shadow copies of Mario (or Luigi), who follow and copy every movement that Mario (or Luigi) makes. In Puzzle Plank Galaxy, they are found in the Prankster Comet mission "Purple Coin Shadow Vault"; in Sky Station Galaxy, they appear on the flipswitch planet during "Storming the Sky Fleet"; in Mario Squared Galaxy, they feature in the Prankster Comet mission "Luigi's Purple Coin Chaos".
10. Which of these missions does not contain any Green Stars?

Answer: Spiny Control (Yoshi Star Galaxy)

All three of Yoshi Star Galaxy's Green Stars are found in the first mission, "Saddle Up With Yoshi". Two are located on the very first planet, and one is found on the very last planet. Once all 120 Green Stars have been found, the Grandmaster Galaxy will be unlocked in World S.
