Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the Fluffy Bluff Galaxy (located in World 1), consider the third mission, "Every Planet Has Its Price". In this level, the player must feed a Hungry Luma a certain number of coins to be able to advance. How many coins are needed to feed the Hungry Luma?

Answer: 100

"Every Planet Has Its Price" is a secret mission located in the Fluffy Bluff Galaxy. The Hungry Luma in question is located on a large cloud that is accessible by spinning through a Sling Star. Near the Luma, there is a large "?" coin that will spawn four rows of ten coins.

This will indicate to the player that the Luma may want coins, not star bits, as was the norm in Super Mario Galaxy. This Luma in question wants a whopping total of 100 coins.
2. Hungry Lumas infest the world maps of "Super Mario Galaxy 2". These Lumas crave many star bits, of which Mario must supply for them. Which one of the following is a galaxy created by feeding these Hungry Lumas?

Answer: Flash Back Galaxy

When the player clicks on the Lumas on the world map, the Luma will eagerly join Mario and Co. on the ship.

Corresponding with each of their worlds, the Lumas will require increasing amounts of star bits. One Luma in the game even requires a massive 2000 star bits. Of all of these, Wild Glide Galaxy (World 2), Slimy Spring Galaxy (World 6), and Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy (World 3) are all regular galaxies that do not require a Hungry Luma. Flash Back Galaxy (World 6) is one of the seven galaxies that are created by Hungry Lumas.
3. In the Supermassive Galaxy (located in World 4), consider the green star mission, "Green Star 3". Green stars have been hidden around the level, and Mario must now search for them. Where is the green star in "Green Star 3" located?

Answer: Located on the spherical planet that has three koopas that can be obtained by triple jumping.

The following choices, "Located in between the bottom sides of two large blocks that are occupied by two thwomps" and "Located off of the first planet that can be obtained by long jumping off the platform" are the first and second green stars of Supermassive Galaxy. "Located off of the wiggler platforms off to the side" is completely made up, so the answer is, "Located on the spherical planet that has three Koopas that can be obtained by triple jumping."
4. In the Chompworks Galaxy, consider the Prankster Comet mission, "Cosmic Clones in the Chompworks". How many cosmic clones follow Mario around in this level?

Answer: Ten

If you walk around mindlessly for a certain amount of time, you'll be able to see ten cosmic clones following your every movement. In fact, there are a maximum of ten clones that can follow you around in any level, though it seems like much more are.
5. In the Beat Block Galaxy, consider the first mission, "Step to the Beat". How many beats are in between every switch of the blocks?

Answer: Seven

The blocks actually switch on beat 1. The music continues for four more beats, only to be followed up by three consecutive "warning" beeps that indicates to you that the blocks are just about to toggle. Therefore, even though beat 1 is when they switch, there are 7 beats in between every switch.
6. In the Beat Block Galaxy, consider the Prankster Comet mission, "Silver Stars in Double Time". How many times faster do the blocks toggle in comparison to the first mission, "Step to the Beat"?

Answer: Four times faster

It switches four times faster because the blocks switch every two beats, not every eight. Though the song in the background seems to be moving at a faster tempo, the song in fact, is not.
7. In the Throwback Galaxy, consider the green star mission, "Green Star 2". Although the game does not specify, each green star mission has you replaying one of the levels of that particular galaxy. Which of the following levels is being played through to acquire the second green star?

Answer: "Return of the Whomp King"

"To the Top of the Fortress" and "Chip Off Whomp's Block" are from "Super Mario 64", so these cannot be correct. "Return of the Whomp King" features green stars 1 and 2, whilst "Silver Stars in the Whomp Fortress" features green star 3.
8. Which of the following is NOT a way to activate a Chance Cube (one of those dice that will give you rewards)?

Answer: Ground Pound it at a considerable height

The only way to NOT activate a Chance Cube is to ground pound it. Mario would either slide off or completely miss. He may even look as if he has just hit an invisible wall.
9. How many times did you have to face off against "The Chimp" in the game? (Note: Assume that you are going for a 100% file.)

Answer: Six

You face off against him six times, though he does make seven total appearances. After every duel you have with the Chimp, he'll say something to the effect of "my eternal rival." The long the time period gets, the closer you are to completing his mini-games.
10. Consider the final mission of the game, "The Perfect Run". Which is the choice that is true about ALL aspects of this level?

Answer: 1 total star bit, 8 sections, 21 flipswitches, 1-Up mushrooms

There are 21 flipswitches in the second section of the level. There are 8 sections in this level total (the 7, where you actually advance, with the 8th being the planet with Rosalina). There are also multiple 1-Up mushrooms in this level, one at the beginning of the third section and one at the very end, behind the house that Rosalina stands in front of.
