Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Feng Min
Answer: Technician
Feng's first Teachable Perk, Technician leans into the character's adept ability to work on generators, allowing any missteps to potentially go unnoticed. While a failed skill check on a generator would normally cause it to backfire and create an auditory and visual alert for a Killer to track, Technician gives the possibility of a magically-saved backfire, preventing said alert to occur but still counting as a failed check for the sake of progress. Successful ranks of Technician increase the probability of the preventative measure.
2. Ash Williams
Answer: Mettle of Man
The third Teachable Perk given to "Evil Dead's" Ashley Williams, Mettle of Man has somewhat of a gimmick to it in that it allows the Survivor to be hit by the Killer several times, shrugging off the fourth hit down the line, so if a Survivor is hit three (and potentially hooked once or twice), Mettle of Man gives them a chance to keep running, almost like Decisive Strike without actually being in the Killer's grip, and prevents them from falling into a dying state in that swing.
There is a downside though. If healed fully after using this Perk, the Killer can see your aura within a certain range.
3. Jane Romero
Answer: Head On
Survivor Perks have generally strayed away from bonuses gained from utilizing lockers found throughout the maps in the game, but Jane Romero, introduced alongside The Plague, made them into weapons. A Survivor using Head On can hop into a locker and, when approached, jump out to stun the Killer for three seconds.
This Perk does cause exhaustion if used, but might just turn an assured capture into a fighting chance. The stun works similar to a flashlight if a Killer has a Survivor in-hand, meaning they'll drop the Survivor upon being hit.
4. Dwight Fairfield
Answer: Prove Thyself
Dwight is all about synergy, and Prove Thyself is a Perk that takes advantage of Survivors working together on a common goal. If more than one Survivor is working on a generator, and one of those Survivors has Prove Thyself, then a bonus will be added to the work done on the objective to speed up completion (as normally there is a diminishing return on progress for more Survivors on the same generator.
The bonus increases with more people on the objective, and each of said players will receive more Bloodpoints in the Objectives category as well.
5. Jake Park
Answer: Iron Will
Like to play a stealthy game? Iron Will is a good Perk for that because coupled with something like Urban Evasion or Calm Spirit (another Jake Park Teachable Perk), it allows your Survivor to make less noise when combatting pain or distress. If hit, normally, a Survivor will make noises of pain; this minimizes that (or eliminates it at the highest level). Additionally, if the Survivor faces the Doctor, Iron Will allows them to avoid making too much noise when dealing with the effects of Madness.
6. Kate Denson
Answer: Boil Over
Cowgirl singer Kate Denson, introduced alongside the Clown, brought this Teachable Perk with her to combat the straining effects of the Killer Perk Iron Grasp, which has the ability to reduce the amount of strafing a Killer needs to do to en route to hooks. If someone with the Boil Over Perk is grabbed, it allows them to struggle as normal, but their attempts to escape will be more volatile for the Killer, making handling much more difficult and, potentially, save the Survivor by allowing them to leap away. Boil Over also affects aura-reading abilities, blocking out hook auras within range at this time.
7. Nancy Wheeler
Answer: Inner Strength
Appearing with the "Stranger Things" DLC pack alongside Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler's three Perks allow her to take stock. While Better Together and Fixated allow Nancy to broadcast generator auras and see her own scratch marks (as the Killer can), Inner Strength activates when Nancy dismantles any totem. When this is done, she can hop into any locker and, after a short time, heal one health state. This can be done multiple times in one session reliant, of course, on the totems in play.
Inner Strength changed to the general Survivor Perk Inner Healing over time.
8. Quentin Smith
Answer: Wake Up!
Escaping the Nightmare is a tough feat, and Wake Up! leans into the idea that the quickest escape is the better one. When equipped, this Quentin Perk allows a Survivor to open the Exit Gate faster, locate the exit gates via an aura, and then broadcast the location of the Exit Gate to other Survivors within a certain range.
This is very much meant to combat certain speedy Killers, endgame and Exit Gate-related Perks, and the Nightmare (Freddy Krueger) himself since his Blood Warden Perk can often shift focus of the endgame if activated. Speed is critical!
9. David Tapp
Answer: Stake Out
For anyone expecting to be close to the Killer, David Tapp's Stake Out Perk can be a great boon since it allows the Survivor to accrue tokens for being within the Killer's terror radius without being seen or heard. For each token of Stake Out received, any good skill check hit automatically becomes a great skill check. Higher levels of the Perk allow for more tokens to be held (to a maximum of four). Detective Tapp came to the game from "The Saw Chapter"; he was played by Danny Glover in the "Saw" film.
10. Jeff Johansen
Answer: Breakdown
Jeff Johansen, introduced alongside The Legion, had a few interesting Perks that never really aligned with his character, but Breakdown became an interesting utility Perk that quickly prevented hook camping with less adept Killers. Breakdown allows a Survivor to, when saved from a hook, break the hook they were on (much like it were sabotaged). This was not usable on basement hooks.
