Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chapter 21: "Hellraiser" The Cenobite was released with this Chapter, and with him came which new type of Perk?

Answer: Scourge Hook

Releasing in September 2021, the "Hellraiser" Chapter came at an interesting time. Releasing solely with the famous Pinhead Killer, allowing players to get their chains hooked into Survivors on any given map, this Killer allowed for a couple of interesting mechanics. The first of these involved the Lament Configuration, a puzzle box that could be found on the map that could have effects on the game. The second was the Scourge Hook, a new Killer Perk type that would affect Survivors if they were hooked on them specifically.

Because this Chapter involved a Killer, a Survivor-specific Chapter was released closer to Halloween as well. Called "Hour of the Witch", this Chapter introduced Boon Totems, usable by Survivors, as another new Perk type.
2. Chapter 22: "Portrait of a Murder" The Artist, introduced in this chapter, specifically uses which of these typical "Dead by Daylight" fixtures as part of their power?

Answer: Crows

Though The Artist is, well, an artist, much of her power involves the manifestations of Dire Crows, brought on by her Birds of Torment power, which she can use to attack Survivors, enhance map awareness, and control the playing field. Though a bit tougher to manage for newer players, she also release with a new map, Eyrie of Crows, which took on a generally more open, brighter space.

This chapter also released with the Survivor Jonah Vasquez. The both of them together embraced the game's newer Perk types, specifically the Scourge Hooks and Boon Totems.

This Chapter released at the end of November 2021.
3. Chapter 23: "Sadako Rising" The iteration of Sadako seen with this release was drawn directly from which of these sources?

Answer: The Japanese film, "Ringu"

Based on the original Koji Suzuki creation, Sadako is The Onryo in this licensed Chapter, bringing with her the jumpscares of the films, the classic VHS terror, and a handful of unique Perks that focus on Generator usage. In addition to teleporting around the map via TVs, The Onryo can demanifest to remove her Terror Radius (like The Wraith) and condemn Survivors to kill them without needing to hook them.

The Onryo was released with an adult Yoichi Asakawa as the Survivor as the developers could not obtain the likenesses of the original protagonists from "Ringu".
4. Chapter 24: "Roots of Dread" The Dredge, released as the Killer in this Chapter, can teleport around the map via which means?

Answer: In lockers

Releasing with the game's sixth anniversary in 2022, "Roots of Dread" brought players a new Survivor (Haddie Kaur) with connection's to the game's overarching lore, a new Killer (The Dredge), and a new map and realm (Withered Isle's Garden of Joy).

Although some Killers have interacted with lockers in various ways in the past (like The Huntress and The Trickster replenishing their projectiles), The Dredge becomes the nightmarish thing hiding in that safe space. At any time, the Dredge can charge up its ability to teleport itself to any locker on the map, even if a Survivor is hiding inside. Survivors can lock them, but only once, to give themselves a bit of a chance of escaping with fair warning. Otherwise, The Dredge's power will automatically lead the Survivors to running around during a near pitch-black Nightfall.
5. Chapter 25: "Project W" This Chapter was the second featuring characters from what previous licensed series?

Answer: Resident Evil

While the first "Resident Evil" Chapter, released in 2021, featured the release of Nemesis, Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield, this second iteration of "Resident Evil" added Albert Wesker (of 'Project W', determinedly) as the Killer and both Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers as the Survivors. A quick re-do of the Raccoon City Police Department map was completed and the meta shifted ever-so-slightly to accommodate the new additions.

Notably, this was the first time in the game wherein the developers revisited an earlier IP. It would also be their final licensed Chapter for another year with the release of the "Alien" Chapter in mid-2023.
6. Chapter 26: "Forged in Fog" The Knight was introduced in this Chapter. Which of these can he not summon?

Answer: The Scribe

The Knight was the first Killer able to send off minions to do his bidding (without leaving the controls in the player's hands). While the player kept control of The Knight at all times, he could path out a route for one of his followers-- the Carnifax, the Assassin, or the Jailer-- as they cycled through his available resources. It absolutely made for a unique treat of a Mori.

The "Forged in Fog" Chapter also revealed new Survivor Vittorio Toscano and the Decimated Borgo Realm (specifically the Shattered Square map) in late 2022.
7. Chapter 27: "Tools of Torment" Two Survivors released in this Chapter-- Thalita and Renato. They share which last name?

Answer: Lyra

Releasing in March 2023, "Tools of Torment" continued a streak of front-loading Survivor characters, this time bringing in two new ones (and siblings at that) to show off the new Teamwork Perks, Perks specifically designed to give bonuses to Survivors who work together to accomplish a certain goal (whether that be healing or escaping or otherwise). Additionally, "Tools of Torment" was built around the new Killer, the Skull Merchant, whose introduction ushered in a reworking of the Shelter Woods map.
8. Chapter 28: "End Transmission" Slipstreams, Biopods, and Overclocking all pertain to what Killer, released with this Chapter?

Answer: The Singularity

The first hardcore science fiction Chapter release for "Dead by Daylight", "End Transmission" brought players to an alien planet, showed off a new biomechanical alien Killer known as The Singularity, and introduced Gabriel Soma as the Survivor character.

The Singularity's powers were somewhat new for the series, allowing for a handful of dynamic changes to gameplay revolving around surveillance; players could launch Biopods at surfaces and use them to keep eyes on Survivors, infecting them to teleport itself through the pieces it has left behind. Survivors could destroy them with EMP devices found in chests around the map.
9. Chapter 29: "Alien" Who was the Survivor released alongside The Xenomorph?

Answer: Ellen Ripley

The original heroine of the "Alien" franchise, Ellen Ripley was originally portrayed by Sigourney Weaver in the first four films of the series, and it's her likeness that was used for the Survivor of this Chapter based on the iconic story. Showing up alongside the Alien (classed as The Xenomorph in-game), Ripley's home map is the Nostromo Wreckage site.

The Killer appears alongside new game mechanics, one of which allows it to travel via tunnels like The Demogorgon before it (in "Stranger Things") and one of which has Survivors keeping the creature at bay with flamethrower turrets.
10. Chapter 30: "Chucky" The Good Guy, Chucky, can go into Hidey-Ho Mode to take on which Status Effect?

Answer: Undetectable

This late 2023 Chapter, the thirtieth in the game's collection, released solely with The Good Guy as a feature-- no new map and no new Survivor(s), possibly because of the excess amount of them over 2023. With this Killer, players could go into a stealthy mode in order to sneak up on unexpecting Survivors and lunge at them with a charging strike. In "Dead by Daylight", Chucky was voiced by his original voice actor, Brad Dourif, and Tiffany appeared as a purchasable cosmetic, allowing you to play as Jennifer Tilly's character from the films and show.

To compensate for a lack of Survivor in this Chapter, "Dead by Daylight" released an Alan Wake mid-Chapter in early 2024.
