In a Playboy interview in 1980 John Lennon said, "I'd spent five hours that morning trying to write a song that was meaningful and good, and I finally gave up and lay down. Then "Nowhere Man" came, words and music, the whole damn thing as I lay down".

In the movie "Yellow Submarine" the Nowhere Man character was voiced by British actor/comedian/TV star, Dick Emery (1915-83).

Charles Hawtrey was a British comedy actor famous for his appearances in the "Carry On" franchise, deaf aid is a term for hearing aid and is also the nickname for The Beatles' Vox amplifiers.
