1. Ulugbek Rashitov (UZB)

Born in 2002 in Taskent, Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Rashitov burst onto the taekwondo scene after becoming the youngest Uzbek Olympic champion at Tokyo 2020, where he won gold in the men's 68kg category. His success continued, with podium finishes at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships and the 2022 Asian Games.

2. Saeid Esmaeili (IRI)

Born in Dezful, Iran in 1998, Saeid Esmaeili first gained international recognition in Greco-Roman wrestling with a gold medal in the 60 kg category at the 2022 World Junior Championships. He went on to win gold in the 67 kg category at the 2024 Asian Championships.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he competed in the men's 67kg Greco-Roman wrestling category. He progressed through the early rounds with dominant wins over Ishak Ghaiou (Algeria), Luis Orta (Cuba) and Slavik Galstyan (Armenia) to book his place in the final.

There he faced Parviz Nasibov of Ukraine and won a close contest 6-5.
3. Winfred Yavi (BRN)

Born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1999, Winfred Yavi has been competing for Bahrain since the age of 15. She is a leading figure in middle and long distance runner and became known for her prowess in the 3000m steeplechase, where she won gold medals at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games and the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she delivered a commanding performance in the 3000m steeplechase. In the final, she set a blistering pace from the outset, outrunning her rivals to take gold with a time of 8:52.76, the fastest time in Olympic history. Silver went to Uganda's Peruth Chemutai and bronze to Kenya's Faith Cherotich.
4. Vivian Kong (HKG)

Born in Hong Kong in 1994, Vivian Kong was the first Hong Kong fencer to win a World Cup title. She achieved this feat in Havana in 2019 and then added more World Cup victories to her name. A consistent performer on the international circuit, Kong was a semi-finalist at the 2023 World Fencing Championships and a top-ranked épée fencer ahead of Paris 2024.

At Paris 2024, she demonstrated her exceptional skills in the women's individual épée event. She beat Aya Hussein (Egypt), Hadley Husisian (USA), Olena Kryvytska (Ukraine) and Estonia's Nelli Differt to reach the final.

5. Carlos Yulo (PHI)

Born in 2000 in Manila, Philippines, Carlos Yulo is a pioneer in gymnastics for his country. His scores of 15.000 on floor and 15.116 on vault secured his place as one of the stars of the gymnastics competition. Yulo's double gold in Paris was not only a personal triumph, but also raised the profile of Philippine gymnastics on the world stage.
6. Veddriq Leonardo (INA)

Veddriq Leonardo, born in Pontianak, Indonesia in 1997, is a speed climbing sensation and world record holder. He gained international fame in 2021 when he broke the speed climbing world record at the IFSC World Cup in Salt Lake City. Over the years, he has consistently dominated the speed climbing circuit, securing multiple World Cup wins and medals and cementing his reputation as one of the fastest climbers in history.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Leonardo lived up to expectations by winning the gold medal in the speed climbing event. With a time of 4.75 seconds in the final, he beat his opponent Wu Peng of China by just 2/100ths of a second.

His triumph was Indonesia's first Olympic gold medal outside of badminton.
7. Tom Reuveny (ISR)

Tom Reuveny, born in Raman Gat in 2001, is an Israeli windsurfer who specialises in the RS:X and iQFoil classes. Reuveny emerged as a formidable competitor at an early age, earning recognition through strong performances at European and World Championships. By 2023, he had secured several top 10 finishes at major international regattas, establishing himself as one of the world's leading windsurfers in his class.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he delivered an impressive performance in the iQFoil event. Over the course of thirteen races, he finished second in the preliminary round.

He finished second in the semi-finals to Luuc van Opzeeland of the Netherlands, whom he beat in the final medal race.
8. Yeldos Smetov (KAZ)

Yeldos Smetov is a Kazakh judoka who has achieved considerable success in the sport. Born in Taraz in 1992, he is a key figure in Kazakhstan judo and has won several international medals throughout his career. He claimed gold in the men's 60 kg category at the 2015 World Judo Championships.

He also won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he competed in the men's 60 kg judo category. He beat world number one Yang Yung-wei of Chinese Taipei in the quarter-finals and Francisco Garrigós of Spain in the semi-finals.

In the final, he defeated Luka Mkheidze of France in a hard-fought contest to claim the gold medal.
9. Kunlavut Vitidsarn (THA)

Kunlavut Vitidsarn is a Thai badminton player who specialises in men's singles. Born in Chonburi in 2001, he established himself as one of the top players in international badminton, particularly known for his strategic play and strong defensive skills.

He ws a three-time World Junior Champion - he achieved this historic feat in consecutive years from 2017-2018-2019. He made a successful transition to the senior level, winning a silver medal at the 2022 World Championships in Toyko and a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships in Copenhagen.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he competed in the men's singles badminton event. He cruised through the group stages with commanding victories to reach the knockout stage. There he defeated Kenta Nishimoto (Japan), Shi Yuqi (China) and Lee Zii Jia (Malaysia) before losing 11-21, 11-21 to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the gold medal match.
10. Aisuluu Tynybekova (KGZ)

Born in Bishkek in 1993, Aisuluu Tynybekova is a Kyrgyz freestyle wrestler and one of the most decorated athletes in her country's history. She became Kyrgyzstan's first ever world wrestling champion, and won gold at the 2019, 2021 and 2023 World Wrestling Championships.

She also won silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, cementing her status as one of the best in the 62kg category. She had been a consistent medallist at the Asian Wrestling Championships, including multiple gold medals. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she competed in the women's 62kg freestyle wrestling event.

After defeating African champion Esther Kolawole (Nigeria) and Kayla Miracle (USA) in the previous rounds, she reached the semi-finals, where she lost 9-2 to Iryna Koliadenko of Ukraine.

In the bronze medal match she beat former world champion Pürevdorjiin Orkhon of Mongolia.
