1. Simone Biles

Simone Biles, born in Columbus OH in 1997, is an American artistic gymnast. She won four gold medals and one bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and added a silver and a bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. With multiple world championship titles, she revolutionised the sport with her level of difficulty, including moves named after her, such as the Biles vault and a floor exercise.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Biles won three gold medals: In the team competition, she helped the US team defeat Italy and Brazil; in the all-around and in the vault, she beat Brazil's Rebeca Andrade. She won silver on the floor exercise behind Rebeca Andrade. In Paris, Biles took her Olympic medal tally to seven gold, two silver and two bronze, making her the third most decorated female gymnast in Olympic history - behind Larisa Latynina (USSR) and Vera Caslavska (Czechoslovakia).
2. Lee Kiefer

Lee Kiefer, born in Cleveland OH in 1994, is an American foil fencer. She became the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in individual foil at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Kiefer has also won several World Cup titles and numerous Pan American Championships in both individual and team competition. At collegiate level she won three NCAA titles while competing for the University of Notre Dame.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Kiefer successfully defended her Olympic title in the women's individual foil event, defeating her U.S. teammate Lauren Scruggs 15-6 in the final. She also helped the US women's foil team to a gold medal in the team competition.
3. Brady Ellison

Brady Ellison, born in Glendale AZ in 1988, is an American recurve archer. He won three Olympic medals prior to Paris: team silver at London 2012, plus team silver and individual bronze at Rio 2016. Ellison is also a multiple World Cup champion and world record holder in men's recurve. He won gold in the individual recurve event at the 2019 World Archery Championships, becoming the first American to do so in over 30 years.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Ellison won silver in the men's individual event, narrowly losing to South Korea's Kim Woo-jin in the final. He also competed in the mixed event with Casey Kaufhold. The duo lost 5-3 to Germany in the semi-finals before winning a bronze medal against India.
4. Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler, born in Ridgewood NJ in 1996, is an American professional golfer. He won his first tournament in 2022 and quickly became the world's top-ranked golfer. That year he won his first major championship at the Masters Tournament. Scheffler continued his dominance in 2023 and 2024, winning several PGA Tour events, including The Players Championship and another Masters title.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Scheffler won the men's singles at Le Golf National in Guyancourt. He shot a course-record 62 in the final round to win gold by one stroke over Tommy Fleetwood (Great Britain) and Hideki Matsuyama (Japan).
5. Noah Lyles

Noah Lyles, born in Gaynesville FL in 1997, is an American sprinter who specialises in the 100m and 200m. He won his first major international title at the 2019 World Championships, winning gold in the 200m. Lyles defended his title at the World Championships in 2022 and 2023 and added 100m and 4x100m relay gold medals in 2023.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Lyles won gold in the 100m in 9.79 seconds, just 5 thousandths of a second ahead of Jamaica's Kishane Thompson. It was the first US victory in the 100m since 2004. In the 200m, Lyles took bronze in 19.70 seconds behind Letsile Tebogo (Botswana) and Kenneth Bednarek (USA).
6. Torri Huske

Torri Huske, born in Arlington VA in 2002, is a U.S. swimmer who gained international recognition at the 2021 US Olympic Trials, where she set an American record in the 100m butterfly. In the following years she won multiple world championships both on the long and the short course in individual and relay events.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Huske won three gold and two silver medals, making her the most decorated female athlete of the Games: She won gold in the 100m butterfly, 4x100m medley, 4x100m mixed medley and silver in the 100m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle.
7. Olivia Reeves

Olivia Reeves, born in Chattanooga TN in 2003, is an American weightlifter who competes in the 71kg category. She won several national titles and broke a number of U.S. records. She won gold at the 2023 Pan American Championships in Santiago and the 2024 World Championships in Manama.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she competed in the women's 71kg weightlifting event and won the first weightlifting gold medal for the USA since 2000. She lifted an Olympic record of 117 kg in the snatch and 145 kg in the clean and jerk. Silver went to Mari Sánchez of Colombia and bronze to Angie Palacios of Ecuador.
8. Kristen Faulkner

Kristen Faulkner, born in Homer AK in 1992, is an American professional cyclist, who transitioned to cycling in 2017, after competing in rowing at Harvard University. She won several stages at events such as the Giro d'Italia Donne and the Tour de Suisse. In 2023 she won the women's road time trial at the Pan American Games in Santiago.

Faulkner won two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: She finished first in the individual road race ahead of Marianne Vos of the Netherlands and Lotte Kopecky of Belgium. In the women's team pursuit, she teamed up with Jennifer Valente, Lily Williams and Chloé Dygert to beat New Zealand in the gold medal final.
9. Vincent Hancock

Vincent Hancock, born in Port Charlotte FL in 1989, is an American skeet shooter. He won Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games before finishing 15th at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He bounced back at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to win his third gold medal in the men's skeet event. He won multiple World Champion titles and World Cup medals.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Hancock won his fourth Olympic gold medal in skeet. In the last series of the final he beat Conner Prince (USA) by 58-57. In the mixed skeet team event he teamed up with Austen Smith. The duo won the silver medal after losing 45-44 to the Italian team in the final.
10. Amit Elor

Amit Elor, born in Walnut Creek CA in 2004, is an American freestyle wrestler. She won gold at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships in the 72kg category, becoming the youngest American to win a world title in the senior division. She followed that up with another gold at the 2023 World Championships and the 2023 Pan American Championships. Elor has also won multiple world titles at junior and under-23 level.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Elor competed in the women's -68kg freestyle wrestling category. She beat Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu (Turkey), Wiktoria Chołuj (Poland) and Pak Sol-gum (North Korea) to reach the final. There she beat former world champion Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan 3-0.
