John tells Jack, that he believes it's Jack's destiny to remain on the island. John says, "You're not supposed to go home." Further, John tells Jack, "You're gonna have to lie." John insists that the only way to protect the island, is to lie about everything that has happened to them. John says that, the island is a place where miracles happen. Jack says, "There's no such thing as miracles."

Desmond says that, there are enough C4 explosives here, to blow up an aircraft carrier. They continue to examine the wiring, noting the variety of trip wires and triggering mechanisms. Even though Desmond indicates, that he has had six months of ordinance training, he doesn't possess the knowledge to disable the bomb.

During the ambush by Ben's people, all of Keamy's men are killed. Kate escapes with Ben. Keamy tries to pursue them, but Keamy is attacked by Sayid. Keamy manages to overpower Sayid and is about to strangle him with a tree branch, when Richard approaches from behind and shoots Keamy in the back.

Walt's grandmother greets Hurley, and wants to know if Hurley is going to do anything crazy. Hurley replies, that he is not going to do anything crazy. Hurley and Walt greet each other, and Hurley says, "You're gettin' big, dude."
Walt laments that no one came to visit him, with the exception of one person.
Walt also wants to know why they are lying. Hurley says, that it's the only way to protect everybody, who didn't come back.

Michael explains that the battery requires a chemical reaction to detonate. He says that, if he uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the battery terminals, it will prevent the device from detonating. However, there is only one canister of Cryo-cil on the boat. So, it is only a temporary measure, to give them more time.

Daniel is preparing to transport the next group of people to the boat. He tells Miles that the situation is dire, and that he needs to be on the boat. Miles sarcastically concedes that the situation is dire, but chooses to remain on the island. Charlotte has been prepared to leave with Daniel, until she has an enigmatic conversation with Miles. She, too, decides to stay on the island.

Answer: Ben gives John a DHARMA video.

Having lost patience with John's barrage of questions, Ben says, "Why don't you watch this very informative video. It will answer some of your questions. I'll take care of some business." John starts watching the DHARMA orientation video for station 6, introduced by Dr. Edgar Halliwax. Meanwhile, Ben is filling the vault with metallic objects. John tells Ben, that according to the video, metallic objects must never be placed in the vault. Ben blithely ignores John, and continues to fill the vault with objects.

Sawyer says, "Hey, Kenny Rogers. What are you trying to do there, pick a lock?"
Sawyer successfully removes the handcuffs from Frank, with a hacksaw and wrench. Frank tells everybody to get aboard, for their trip back to the boat. He says, "Let's go for a ride!"

Keamy unexpectedly arrives in the elevator. Ben is hiding in the dark somewhere, listening to what Keamy has to say. Keamy explains that, he is wearing a heart-rate monitor, which will detonate the explosives on the boat, if his heart stops. He calls it a "dead man's trigger." John comes out to greet Keamy, and implores him to spare the lives of those, remaining on the boat. Keamy goads Ben into a fit of rage, by describing the death of Ben's daughter. Ben emerges from his place of hiding, attacks and kills Keamy. Keamy's dying words were, "Wherever you go, Widmore will find you." When he dies, the radio transmitter activates the device on the boat. John says, "You've just killed everybody on that boat." Ben's only reply is, "So."

Answer: Sawyer

After throwing everything they can into the water, Jack asks Frank, if that is enough weight, "Can we make it?" Frank says, "I'd feel better if we were a few hundred pounds lighter." Sawyer whispers something into Kate's ear, kisses her passionately, and then jumps into the ocean. After a moment, Sawyer emerges, and starts swimming towards the island.

Answer: Hurley is playing a game of chess.

Before Sayid enters the building, he assassinates a person sitting in a car, who is apparently keeping Hurley under surveillance. Sayid enters Hurley's room, where Hurley is engaged in a game of chess. Sayid wants to take Hurley to a safe place. Hurley agrees to go with Sayid, but before they leave, Hurley makes another move on the board, Qxa1, and announces, "Checkmate, Mr. Eko."

The red light on the device has been activated, indicating that the explosives will detonate at any moment. The room is suddenly filled with the familiar whispering sound, often heard on the island. Michael looks around, and sees Christian Shepherd. Christian says, "You can go now, Michael." Michael replies, "Who are you?" At that very moment, the boat is destroyed in a massive explosion.

Answer: Charles Widmore

Sun meets Charles Widmore in London. She chastises Widmore, for pretending not to know who she really is. Sun tells Widmore that they have common interests. She goes on to say, "As you know, we're not the only ones who left the island."

Answer: It opens a passageway, leading to an icy room.

Apparently, Ben's objective is to create an explosion, clearing the way into another passageway. Ben clears the remaining debris, and enters the narrow, rocky corridor, which in turn, leads him to an icy room. Inside the room, there is a rotating wheel. Ben steps in front of the wheel, with handles, looks up, and says, "I hope you're happy now, Jacob." With considerable exertion, Ben slowly turns the wheel clockwise. Eerie sounds radiate throughout the surrounding area, and the island suddenly disappears, in a brilliant flash of white light.

Answer: John

Jack wanders over to the coffin, and sees the body release form, lying on top of the coffin. The name of the deceased is listed as, "Jeremy Bentham." Jack opens the coffin lid, and peers inside, apparently stricken with grief. Ben steps in, and says, "Hello, Jack." Ben asks Jack about the discussion, that Jack had with John. Jack says that, he must go back to the island. Ben says that he is there, to tell Jack that the island will not let Jack return alone. Ben says, "All of you have to go back." Ben says, that he has some ideas on how to help Jack accomplish this.

A view into the coffin shows that the late Jeremy Bentham, is, in fact, John Locke.
