Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode opens with Gomez and Fester playing navy. Why is Fester upset?

Answer: He's tired of playing the bad guy

Gomez was barking orders to Fester, who was playing the sailor, and was preparing to fire a cannon at a painting of a ship. When Fester pouted, Gomez decided to be nice and gave Fester the captain's hat.

Gomez then recalled a story where Admiral Addams sank an enemy vessel... well, he went to his cabin while possibly someone else did. Apparently, the real Admiral Addams was eventually hanged 200 years ago.

The cannon ended up wrecking the plumbing. Again. Uncle Fester put too much sulfur in the gunpowder.
2. Who suggested calling the insurance company instead of a plumber?

Answer: Morticia

Gomez shut off the water and was about to call the plumber when Morticia suggested calling the insurance agent and letting him do all the work to get the plumbing fixed instead.
3. Why didn't the insurance company like the Addamses?

Answer: Their franchise was about to be pulled because of too many claims

They had had three big claims in the past year. If they sold another policy like that, their franchise would be pulled.

But Mr. Beesley found a loophole that would get them out of paying the Addamses cheap.
4. When Gomez and Morticia decide that Fester has been spending too much money, how do they decide to punish him?

Answer: Hold his allowance until 1986

Uncle Fester got upset and decided he would watch out for himself from then on: He would get a job. He looked through the wanted ads and found an ad for the insurance agency that Gomez's insurance policy was at.
5. When Mr. Beesley says Uncle Fester needs previous experience for the insurance salesman job, how does Uncle Fester respond?

Answer: He's held the same job for 37 years

Apparently the job has been in public relations - Uncle Fester's father paid him to keep out of public. But when he died, Uncle Fester retired. Uncle Fester claimed to be a great salesman and was magnetic, then demonstrated by showing he was actually magnetic with an object on Mr. Beesley's desk.

Mr. Beesley eventually gets scared of Uncle Fester and tells him to sell anything and hands him a sales kit.
6. Uncle Fester isn't as great a salesman as he thought he was and made no sales. How DIDN'T someone try to make him feel better?

Answer: Gomez gave him a new sword

Gomez and Morticia had never seen him so distraught. Gomez had an idea and decided to take the tough approach with him and started yelling at Uncle Fester to get up. Then Gomez sat down and told Uncle Fester to sell him a policy. But Uncle Fester had never really gotten far, so Gomez decided to do a role reversal and have Uncle Fester act like the customers he'd had.

As Gomez went through the policy, he realized the policy was pretty good, so he decided to buy it.
7. Why was Mr. Henson mad that Uncle Fester made a sale?

Answer: They were trying to get rid of the Addamses as customers

Mr. Beesley told Mr. Henson to think that the premium was huge. Mr. Henson then thought that if he never accepted the check, the policy would never be valid... but Gomez paid in cash.
8. Mr. Henson and Mr. Beasley went to the Addams house to try and convince Gomez to take back the policy. But Gomez wasn't home. Where was he?

Answer: Jumping from 20,000 feet

Morticia told them not to worry, he had his parachute... still. Gomez had a theory that if you decreased the size of the parachute each time you jumped, eventually you wouldn't need a parachute at all. "He'd have it figured out one way or another by the end of this week."

At that point, the children set off an explosion and Morticia told them they needed more sulfur.
9. While talking with Mr. Henson and Mr. Beesley, Morticia reassured them that Gomez wouldn't take the children on safari because he worried about them so much. Where did he take them instead?

Answer: India

Morticia said Gomez took the children to India and they would poke around looking for cobras. Definitely not as adventurous as going on safari to Africa.
10. What was NOT written into the insurance policy?

Answer: Gored by Viking helmet

Gomez was happy because Uncle Fester had given him complete coverage. Morticia said they couldn't cancel the policy because Uncle Fester would be crushed, so Gomez instead asked to double the policy.

But Mr. Henson found out that Gomez owned the corporation that ran the insurance company... And Gomez made Mr. Beesley the boss over Mr. Henson since Mr. Beesley recognized how good a worker Uncle Fester was.
