Mama was painting it to hang at Gomez's zen yogi society. That's when Gomez got the idea to hire Picasso as Mama's teacher.

Gomez called France first but the operator had never heard of Picasso, so Gomez called Spain. This Picasso got the call at just the right time - he was about to hang himself.

Wednesday's doll seems to change between Marie Antoinette and Mary Queen of Scots, in this episode it's the latter. Sam Picasso gestures toward the grave of Red Riding Hood and laughs, saying she doesn't die. Wednesday responds that she dies the way Wednesday plays.

Sam apparently was a VERY starving artist, so when he arrives, he very excitedly ate whatever Gomez was feeding him. But as for Mama's painting, he said it would be better to look at it on a different floor. Mama was working on paintings for the charity bazaar.

Gomez has a response for every one of Picasso's reasons why he can't paint:
- goat hair brushes: Gomez would get them from Nepal
- Egyptian canvasses: Gomez would helicopter them on the way back from Nepal
- can't paint in living room: Gomez fixed up the playroom as Picasso's studio

However, the playroom is also a dungeon, and Picasso was locked in. Now he thought he was a prisoner. Morticia said great suffering would bring something precious out of him.

Morticia said Picasso should suffer for his art, but dying was a step too far.

He ran to the bed of nails (which is where he was told he could sleep) and found a loose one he could use to try and pick the lock of the door.

Picasso was sneaking out of the house and ended up in the conservatory, but Cleopatra (the African strangler) wrapped herself around Picasso. Gomez and Morticia found it cute that Cleopatra liked him.

Picasso is again trying to escape, this time by trying to throw a stool against the door (although I wonder why he didn't try to pick a lock since it worked the first time), when Fester comes in. Picasso thinks Fester is going to kill him but really, Fester was just going to be a model for Picasso. Fester explains that he models for all of Gomez's pumpkins, but Picasso says he only paints apples.

Wednesday went into the playroom through one of Pugsley's tunnels and started finger painting. But by the time Gomez and Morticia returned to the studio, Wednesday had left so they thought the paintings had been done by Picasso. Picasso, for his part, didn't reveal the truth because he just wanted out of the house and seeing as Gomez and Morticia were pleased, thought they would release him. But Gomez and Morticia insisted Mr. Swain come to appraise the pieces. Mr. Swain said the paintings had a childlike simplicity and imagination: trees with human heads.

In the end, Morticia revealed that Picasso was such a good influence on Wednesday to the point that Wednesday was now painting exactly like him.
