As Morticia is knitting a sweater with a very long neck, Gomez is standing on his head (apparently it's very restful for the feet, but doesn't help the head). Gomez apparently has tried to get Uncle Fester to join, but something was bothering Fester, who has been acting strangely. Morticia says he's just improving with age.

Gomez went out to get the newspaper but couldn't find it. Lurch wouldn't tell him what happened to the newspaper, but Thing motioned Gomez over to his box. Using morse code, Thing tapped out what was going on: Uncle Fester had been stealing the newspaper. Gomez remarked that it would be a madhouse without Thing.

Answer: Black widow spider village

Gomez was complaining to Morticia that Uncle Fester was interfering with the children by spoiling them. He promised Puglsey a gila monster, which Morticia said was good for children to have pets, but Gomez objected because it was expensive. Then Wednesday called her parents over to show what Uncle Fester gave her: a black widow spider village. Wednesday said they did nothing but fight. (Morticia said 'that's life.') Now Gomez and Morticia decide they need to scold Uncle Fester - but gently because the last time he wouldn't come out of his closet for weeks. (Although it was an act - he loves being in his closet.)

When Morticia and Gomez confronted Fester about spoiling the children, he complained that he didn't feel wanted - they wouldn't even let Fester fit the leak in the roof even though his finger fit in the hole perfectly. But it was Morticia's favorite leak. And Gomez was using his electric shaver without connecting it to Fester (Fester was looking run down and Gomez's new shaver was a/c and Fester was d/c).

We also learn why Fester was stealing the paper: He was scanning the lonely hearts column.

He is dictating a letter to Thing, who has very delicate handwriting, to try to find a woman and signs it 'modesty'. Morticia and Gomez suggest adding a photograph to the letter - maybe the one the city took the time he fell asleep on the park bench? But he was thinner and had hair... Gomez offers to take a new one!

Gomez and Morticia were talking about how Uncle Fester was preparing to find a wife and move out. He'd found a nice house in a condemned section of town. They also wondered what their children would look like, with Gomez hoping the girls would look like Fester. Fester seems to be getting ahead of himself - he hasn't even had one response to his letter yet. Morticia hadn't seen him this happy since he'd blown up the guest house.

Wednesday asks Morticia if she likes the gift, but Morticia can't see it. Wednesday responds that 'it's the thought that counts' and that she's thinking of a nice friendly cobra. Gomez loves the idea - it will save the family a lot of money. Thing then gives Morticia a wrapped box with a shrunken head in it. Gomez remarked that it was just what Uncle Fester wanted. Pugsley has yet to buy a gift.

Wednesday met the woman before she got to the porch and we find out that Morticia uses baking powder on her face and Uncle Fester uses a spray-on preservative 'just to keep.' But Fester thinks the woman came to see him and becomes very nervous. Morticia, seeing that the woman arrived with bags, thinks the woman is scheming and up to something.

Her suspicions seem confirmed when the woman admits she enters someone's home 'several times a day'.

Answer: new wardrobe

Gomez and Morticia think Mis Carver is crazy about him. With a new wardrobe and staying out of the sun for a few months, Morticia tells Fester that he would like her. Miss Carver then tries to show Fester some of her items - maybe something exotic for the boudoir? Morticia is mortified. And that's when Miss Carver starts to understand that the Addamses don't think she's there to sell cosmetics, she's there to meet Fester. And Miss Carver runs away. Morticia said Fester was lucky - Miss Carver seemed very vain: her case was full of nothing but cosmetics and not a bit of baking powder.

Answer: It is alive

Each time Pugsley needs money, he has to chase his piggy bank around his room. We see the pig run into the closet and then Pugsley comes out with coins in his hand. No idea where the coins come from - as the next episode the pig seems intact (unless it's a new pig each subsequent episode).
