Gomez refused her request, claiming that the knife was to be used for carving works of art. But the knife was either dull or Gomez's hair was very strong as the knife wouldn't cut the hair he had plucked off his head. We next saw Morticia sharpening the knife for him.

Gomez needed his new carving knife sharp to carve the pumpkin. He's using Uncle Fester as inspiration for the design of the face. Morticia was getting the punch ready and brought the cookies out (we don't know who made them). Mama was upstairs with the children while they got ready for trick or treating.

Gomez holds out two apples to put into the men's bags and when he looks inside, he sees all the money the robbers had stolen. Gomez totally misunderstands the situation and starts thinking the neighbors are giving out huge sums of money to trick or treaters. So what does Gomez do? He gives the men money instead of the apples.

Answer: Thing

While everyone else is occupied, the robbers are in the main room trying to open the drawer with all the money. Thing reaches behind the one man and takes the gun out of his back pocket, replacing it with a banana.

Answer: crabs

The robbers really want to leave the house but the police are still searching the area. So they agree to play a bobbing game. After all, they remember kneeling around a tank and bobbing for apples when they were little. But Gomez and Morticia have never heard of bobbing for apples - they bob for a live giant crab. That's the challenge. Uncle Fester wants to go first, but Morticia insists - guests first.

Answer: Policemen

Gomez initially thought the policemen had very good costumes, but it was real policemen canvassing the neighborhood for the robbers. The two inside quickly begin bobbing for the crab to try and hide, and when they come up for air, the crab comes up with them. But who won the game? Did the robbers grab the crab or did the crab grab the robbers?

Answer: wrestle a lion

Luckily, the Addamses have Kitty, so Morticia calls Kitty down. I guess wrestling a lion isn't a Halloween party game the robbers actually wanted to play.

Answer: Hide and seek

The robbers confer amongst each other and come up with an idea to get the loot: They will play hide and seek. Apparently, hide and seek isn't in the Addams vocabulary because the robbers have to explain how to play it to Gomez and Morticia. They start to think they were wrong to invite the men in and call the game 'eccentric'.

Answer: The police were right there to arrest them

Thing (still the only member of the family who knew they were bad) locked the front door, trapping the men inside. So the robbers tried to find a way out. Fester was hiding in a suit of armor, Lurch was in the little room by the front door... But Mama and the children had just come home and opened the front door, helping the men escape. Gomez and Morticia, who had been hiding in the conservatory, watched as the men ran straight into the police car.

Answer: Sent up the river

The headlines were: revolution in South America, a war in Asia, a flood, and Marty and Claude (the robbers) were "sent up the river." Morticia remarked that they needed a vacation.
