The series began with an unexpected twist as the train transporting the twenty-five contestants suddenly stopped and three contestants, one from each carriage, had to leave. Those who chose to sacrifice themselves were Jack, Fozia, and . Later on, at the castle, three traitors were chosen with Armani, Linda, and being tapped on the shoulder by Claudia.

Episode one ended with the traitors choosing their first victim, , because this player was assessed, probably correctly, as being astute. The first murder had been accomplished. Episode three saw the first traitor to be uncovered as fell victim to over-confidence and was banished. The remaining traitors then disposed of by murder.

With two of them left, episode five saw the traitors decide against a murder and instead try to seduce to join them - the invitation was declined, though, so an opportunity was lost. Episode six was eventful as Dan was banished and four players were chosen by the traitors to take part in a death game. This involved each player having two cards, with the initial eight cards available being seven death cards with just one life card saving the player holding it. was the unlucky player in the third and final round and was murdered in episode seven.

Episode seven also saw the banishment of leading to receiving an ultimatum to become a traitor or be murdered. The choice made was to become a traitor, and the player turned out to be ruthless. Two faithful were murdered and two more banished, with the traitors pulling the strings, before the banishment of the last of the original traitors in episode ten.

With only one traitor left standing, another ultimatum was issued with being the unlucky player, as the traitor successfully set up the unwilling new traitor to be banished. The player did get some revenge by voting for the traitor at the round table, but would the remaining players realise?

The game then took another twist as one player was given the chance to become a seer and pick one other player who would be forced to reveal to the seer whether they were faithful or a traitor. The seer was who, by chance, chose the sole traitor left in the game, meaning episode twelve had the seer and traitor accusing each other and trying to persuade the players left that they were faithful and the other was the traitor. The faithful prevailed and the last traitor was banished. In a final twist, though, the rules were changed and the banished player was not allowed to reveal whether they were faithful or a traitor.

Four players were left around the firepit, all of whom were faithful but were unaware. Two further rounds meant two final banishments and only two players left standing - Leanne and . As both were faithful, it meant they shared the prize pot of £94,600.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

The opening part of the game, with the sadistic twist of three players having to leave, was a total shock, and there was an extreme reluctance for anyone to depart the game before it had even started. Fozia was the first to volunteer with Alexander and Jack being the other two. The gamble was that they hoped they could be brought back into the game, and that is what happened in episode four, at least for two of them. The three players were suspended in cages above the ground and the remaining players had to collect coins to enter into a box which would lower the cages. The first two to reach the ground would be allowed to join the game, with the third one eliminated permanently. Jack was the unlucky player to not even see the castle.

Minah was the third of the original traitors chosen and played an excellent game to begin with. Armani initially seemed to be the leader, with Minah and Linda going along with her suggestions. The choice to murder Yin was made on the basis that she seemed far too observant and was likely to pick up clues that others would miss, so Yin was murdered without really taking part. Armani brought suspicion on herself by being too talkative and being rather too obvious in her efforts to influence other players. She found herself voted out and banished in episode three. Options were limited as many of the players had immunity from the day's challenge, so she may feel that she was unlucky. To compound her misery, the remaining traitors chose to murder her sister, Maia, that night.

Linda and Minah then attempted to recruit Anna as a traitor, but she declined to join them. She was fortunate as she had the option to refuse - later recruits had to become traitors or be murdered. Episode six saw the traitors having to write the names of four players on a painting without being detected by the faithful. They succeeded in this part, choosing Alexander, Leon, Anna, and Fozia to take part in a deadly card game. The first two rounds of the death game saw Anna and Alexander successful with the final coming down to Leon against Fozia with Leon managing to secure the all-important life card. Losing Fozia as a faithful was a blow to the chances of the faithful, had they but known it, as she was very good at picking up nuances.

Episode eight saw the faithful catch a second traitor with Linda being eliminated. Jake had been suspicious of her from the beginning, having spotted her turning her head to look at Claudia as the latter specifically addressed the traitors at the very first round table. He had been unable to persuade his fellow faithful though. Linda sealed her fate by over-reacting to the murder of Livi which had been revealed at that morning's breakfast. Her crocodile tears did not fool the majority and she was banished. Minah then issued Charlotte with the ultimatum to become a traitor or be murdered. Minah felt that Charlotte would be supportive but had made a bad mistake as Charlotte proved herself to be devious and ruthless. She had adopted a Welsh accent from the beginning, noticing that the accent appeared to give the impression of being trustworthy, and maintained the deception throughout. When suspicion fell on Minah, with Alexander pointing out that she had rarely been forthcoming with suggestions of traitors, had tended to follow the majority and had gone rather under the radar, Charlotte took the risk of voting for her fellow traitor. It paid off, as Minah was banished in episode ten.

Charlotte then behaved even more deviously, giving Freddie, the youngest player, the ultimatum to join her or be murdered. She then persuaded Freddie that they should murder Leanne, a player that Charlotte knew but Freddie didn't, was protected by a shield. When Leanne appeared at the next day's breakfast Freddie was unable to conceal his shock and compounded it by lying badly that he had known about the shield too. He was unable to extricate himself from Charlotte's web and was banished that night. He managed a small amount of revenge by voting for Charlotte before becoming the last player to have to reveal his status to all the players as he left the game.

All was looking good for Charlotte, but the introduction of the seer ruined her plans. With the help of Alexander, who knew he couldn't win, Francesca became the seer and could summon any of Alexander, Jake, Leanne, or Charlotte to a meeting to reveal their status. After much deliberation, she chose Charlotte, convinced that she was a faithful and would be an ally in the end game. She was totally shocked to discover Charlotte was a traitor. Breakfast the next morning was tense, and the day remained so as both Francesca and Charlotte tried to convince the players that each other was the traitor. Charlotte did her best, including turning on tears, quite convincingly, but Freddie's vote from the previous night was enough to turn the others against her and she became the last player banished at the round table. The other twist was that she was not required to declare her status, meaning that it was still only Francesca who knew for sure that she was a traitor.

The end game came at the firepit as the four players left had to decide whether to end the game or banish again. Suspicion that there could be another traitor remained and two further rounds took place, with Alexander and Francesca both being banished. The flaw at this stage is that banishing players means the share of the pot becomes bigger for those left in the game, although it did seem that the players were not thinking that way.

With only Leanne and Jake left, the money would be shared if both were confirmed as faithful while the whole amount would be claimed by a traitor. Leanne was the first to be asked to confirm her status as a faithful. Jake, perhaps unkindly, refused to look her in the eye at the end, leading her to suspect he might be a traitor, before confirming he had been a faithful from the beginning, meaning they shared the prize fund equally.
