"The Addams Family Goes to School" Quiz

The school district had found out the Addams family had two children who had never attended school. He was there to tell Gomez and Morticia to send the kids to school. He first was met by Wednesday, who said the house was nice and gloomy.

In this series, Wednesday was younger than Pugsley. The actress, when she was cast, was also unable to read so they had to speak her lines to her and she had to repeat them back. We find out how old the children are when Mr. Hilliard is explaining to Morticia that Wednesday and Puglsey have never attended school.

Gomez was playing with his trains when Mr. Hilliard was explaining the children needed to attend school. Gomez responded that he didn't want to send the children away to school and that Mama took care of their education, giving an example of how well Wednesday raised spiders as to how well-educated she was. Then he talked about how Mama taught the children the arts, too.

Answer: Morticia's carnivorous plants

Mr. Hilliard's advice for the principal was to leave the Addams children at the house and forget about making them come to school. The school staff begins to suspect Mr. Hilliard has been drinking.

Gomez said he would be lost without the children. But Morticia said Wednesday would look out the window at the other children going to school... Uncle Fester then said he never went to school and look how well he turned out. Morticia quickly replied that she would call the school and tell them the children would attend in the morning.

Morticia reminded Gomez that he hadn't heard from duBois for years, so he may not be taking mail orders anymore. The assistant principal suggests a nice, old-fashioned horsewhipping. Gomez likes that and suggests using a boa constrictor. The assistant principal is loving this - and then suggests dipping him in boiling oil.

It's unclear as to whether the assistant principal knows Gomez isn't joking, but Mr. Hilliard is eavesdropping and clearly thinks neither Gomez nor the assistant principal are pretending.

Answer: They killed the dragon

Pugsley shows Morticia and Gomez the book Wednesday was given of Grimm's fairy tales - a very nice title, but the stories are not appropriate. Morticia and Gomez decide the best course of action is to call Mr. Hilliard to the house to discuss the matter.

Answer: Lurch was very hard to refuse

Mr. Hilliard protested, saying he didn't want to come because he hadn't yet made out his will. Lurch carried Mr. Hilliard into the house.

Answer: Walking away saying he had misjudged the Addams family

When Gomez and Morticia confronted him about the book and how violent it was, Mr. Hilliard went off, saying he saw their point about toy guns, real guns, bombs, atom bombs, and how their thinking could save the world. He then left the house, leaving a perplexed Morticia and Gomez who couldn't figure what Mr. Hilliard would do about the book.

In the end, Mr. Hilliard apparently did talk to the school board, who accepted their ideas enthusiastically.

Answer: Death Valley

When they hear thunder, Morticia is reminded about their honeymoon in Death Valley - the stillness in the air, the full moon, the fluttering of bat wings, and the divine cave.
