"Thing is Missing" Trivia Quiz

Wednesday played with her doll while Morticia brushed her hair with a new cactus brush (the old porcupine one wasn't as good). Gomez brushed Morticia's hair, and Mama brushed his. Fester brushed Mama's hair and Thing used a back scratcher on Fester's bald head.

Fester said the back scratcher had a slight hangnail and Thing got upset, threw the scratcher on the floor, and ran off.

Morticia found a framed portrait of two hands holding each other: Thing's parents. She said it must have been their wedding picture. Gomez and Morticia didn't think he would pack up and leave without taking the picture, so they began to suspect foul play.

Pugsley claims the 5th amendment, but Gomez doesn't remember which one that was... he was absent that day in law school. (For others who don't remember, that's the one that you claim when you don't want to say something that could incriminate yourself.)

Fester walks in to say the piece of the hose Gomez was holding to intimidate the children was missing from the basement and the basement was flooding, so the children grab the hose and run to the basement to fix the flood.

Morticia responds that at least they learned one thing: They needed a plumber.

Mama said he ruined her blackbird pie by letting the birds go. Mama the threw the suspicion onto Lurch, but Lurch didn't even know Thing was gone.

So the Addams family puts out an ad that says:
Liberal Reward - For missing Thing. Addams, 0001 Cemetery Lane.

Answer: Ransom note

The ransom was to be paid by a disinterested party at midnight, so Gomez decided to call a private investigator named Sam Diamond.

He signs his name Thing T. Thing.

Sam is about to leave when Gomez says he will pay Sam's fee in diamonds. Fester cracks the safe and Gomez finds a cigar, a bomb that won't go off for another six months, and the bag of diamonds he was looking for. Morticia explains all their really fine diamonds are cursed and have been in the family for generations.

Gomez and Morticia were playing chess waiting for Sam Diamond to return after paying the ransom. Sam comes in scared to death and explains he saw just a hand come up and take the ransom. Morticia and Gomez are excited because this was Thing!

Gomez realized that Thing set up the whole scheme himself and the kidnapping was a hoax. That's when Morticia exclaims that she thought the handwriting was familiar. Thing explains that he felt neglected and wanted to test them to see if they really cared about him to ransom him back. Morticia decides they have been neglecting Thing so they should take him to a concert.

Mama gives him a giant nail file. Lurch gives him a musical instrument. Fester gives him a framed picture of Fester as a baby.

Morticia and Gomez didn't bring him anything, but they were taking him out to a concert. Gomez was worried and asked Morticia where he would ride. Morticia responded that he would ride where he always rode: in the glove compartment.
