Question 1 of 10
1. Rats are to be expected in a sewer, but the player should watch the ceiling, as they'll otherwise find themselves being ambushed by Slugs as well. Slugs are resistant to every thing in the game except for one element that they are extremely weak to. What are they weak to? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. If the player would like to make their melee weapons stronger and be able to make boss weapons, an important key item must be looted from The Depths. Which of the following can be found here? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. If the player wants to collect important blacksmith loot, they'll have to get by a new mini boss who's guarding it. Who is this? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Here, Domhall of Zena is met for the first time. He mainly sells Crystal weapons. Crystal weapons have significantly higher base power than non-Crystal counterparts, but come at one large downside. What is their drawback? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Around the middle of the area, the player will find an NPC, trapped in a locked door which is being guarded by a Butcher mini boss. What NPC can the player rescue here? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The Butcher guarding a trapped NPC will, one time only, drop the Butcher Knife when slain. At first glance, this is a fairly ordinary Axe class weapon. However, it comes with a unique special effect that's only shared by Smough's Great Hammer. Other than deal damage, what does the Butcher Knife do when striking an enemy? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. The boss of The Depths is the Gaping Dragon. This is a massive foe that hits especially hard. As such, it's not terribly surprising the game has provided multiple NPCs for help with this boss. One of them was previously encountered at the Undead Burg, and gave the player the White Sign Soapstone. Who is this? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. A second option for an NPC summon to fight the Gaping Dragon is an NPC the player could've freed from a locked room at the Undead Parish. Who is this? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. If the player is creating a Strength build, this boss will be incredibly important. If the player is able to cut the Gaping Dragon's tail off, they will acquire an amazing Strength weapon. What weapon? Hint

Question 10 of 10

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rats are to be expected in a sewer, but the player should watch the ceiling, as they'll otherwise find themselves being ambushed by Slugs as well. Slugs are resistant to every thing in the game except for one element that they are extremely weak to. What are they weak to?

Answer: Fire

Slugs resist melee weapons which do not have Fire the most, while their resistances to Magic and Lightning are still high but not as thorough. Fire, however, will eat through their health bars remarkably quickly. Before traveling into the Depths, if the player cannot obtain a Fire melee weapon or spell, it would be a good idea to stock up on Firebombs to help deal with Slugs.
2. If the player would like to make their melee weapons stronger and be able to make boss weapons, an important key item must be looted from The Depths. Which of the following can be found here?

Answer: Large Ember

The Large Ember, when given to Andre, will allow him to take the player's melee weapons to +10, increasing his previous limit of +5 substantially. +10 is the minimum needed to make a boss weapon, so this will also open up Giant Blacksmith's ability to do this by proxy.
3. If the player wants to collect important blacksmith loot, they'll have to get by a new mini boss who's guarding it. Who is this?

Answer: The Butcher

The Butcher is a tall, bulky foe with a lot of health and a big Butcher Knife for a melee weapon. He also has two grab attacks, forcing greatshield users to play cautiously when trying to block his attacks.
4. Here, Domhall of Zena is met for the first time. He mainly sells Crystal weapons. Crystal weapons have significantly higher base power than non-Crystal counterparts, but come at one large downside. What is their drawback?

Answer: They cannot be repaired

Crystal weapons cannot be repaired. If the player breaks one, they may as well discard it, as it's base damage will have been obliterated from the weapon breaking.
5. Around the middle of the area, the player will find an NPC, trapped in a locked door which is being guarded by a Butcher mini boss. What NPC can the player rescue here?

Answer: Laurentius of the Great Swamp

Simply put, the player must defeat this Butcher, whereupon they can free Laurentius. He will then move to Firelink Shrine, where he can sell the player Pyromancies.

Answer: Slightly heals the player

Specifically, the weapon will heal for 8% of the total damage done, to a maximum of 8% of the player's maximum health. It will only do this, however, if the player connects with the weapon itself. It is possible for the weapon to collide with a surface and create a brief shockwave that can damage enemies, but this will not heal the player.

Answer: Knight Solaire

As he always does, Solaire comes equipped with the Sunlight Straight Sword, Sunlight Shield, and has the Miracles Sunlight Blade and Lightning Spear equipped.
8. A second option for an NPC summon to fight the Gaping Dragon is an NPC the player could've freed from a locked room at the Undead Parish. Who is this?

Answer: Knight Lautrec

Lautrec of Carim dual wields a Shotel in one hand and a Dagger in the other. Despite wearing heavy armor, he is able to fast roll, which can enhance his survivability in this fight significantly.
9. If the player is creating a Strength build, this boss will be incredibly important. If the player is able to cut the Gaping Dragon's tail off, they will acquire an amazing Strength weapon. What weapon?

Answer: Dragonking Greataxe

When two handed and pressing the heavy attack button, the character will hold the axe high and slam it down, and the collision will cause a massive shockwave to emit for a considerable distance. The axe itself can also strike the opponent if in close distance, and the two in tandem do a ton of damage. With solid durability to boot, this weapon is arguably the best Strength weapon in the game.
10. When defeated, the Gaping Dragon will drop a very important key. What key is this?

Answer: Blighttown Key

Shockingly, the Blighttown Key is used to unlock the door connecting The Depths to Blighttown! After having this revelation occur, the player will likely want to go and use this key to progress the game.
