Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. These gentlemen were very serious about the law. They wanted to know the facts, only the facts. Can you name this duo from the 1967 television show "Dragnet 1967"?

Answer: Sergeant Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon

Jack Webb played Sergeant Joe Friday since 1951. It wasn't until he teamed up with Officer Gannon that they struck gold in 1967. If you ever have the chance to view the "Tonight Show" tapes with Johnny Carson, Jack has a memorable appearance on there. Jack guest starred with Johnny in 1970 and they had a 'clever clip about Claude Cooper from Cleveland!'
2. In 1968 we saw the original duo in "The Odd Couple", with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Jack and Walter teamed up again in 1998 for the sequel, "The Odd Couple II". We know who played in the movies, but do you know who played the roles of Oscar and Felix in the television show, in 1970?

Answer: Tony Randall and Jack Klugman

Oscar was the sloppy one, the one that always threw things on the floor. It seemed like Oscar would do this just to annoy Felix at times. Felix, who was always picking up and vacuuming, was the neat freak. Neil Simon actually came up with this idea, because his brother had gotten a divorce.
3. Catherine Zeta-Jones was the showgirl. Renee Zellweger was the jealous one, who wanted to be on stage. They both went to jail for murders they had committed. But after jail, they teamed up to make one heck of a duo. Who are these women?

Answer: Velma and Roxie

"Chicago" was a great musical movie. The movie has it all, singing, dancing, excitement and murders! Both Roxie and Velma end up in the slammer, trying to fight for the most attention from the media. The cat fight is great, but in the end, they decide to team up with each other. Both ladies perform all their own singing and dancing routines.
4. John Travolta and Olivia Newton John teamed up for the 50s movie, "Grease". The movie was a major hit, but do you remember the name of the two main characters?

Answer: Danny and Sandy

There were so many great hits in this movie. "Grease" was sung by Frankie Valli in the beginning of the film. Of course, we have to give credit to Sandy and Danny for singing "You're the One That I Want" together. They re-released the film 20 years later, in 1998.
5. This duo was lucky enough to meet the Mummy, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, and even Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Do you know their names?

Answer: Abbott and Costello

Bud and Lou teamed up numerous times over the years, starting their partnership in, "One Night in the Tropics". The duo split up in 1957 after 20 plus years together. Lou passed away a couple years later in 1959, from a heart attack.
6. No one could replace Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. They were the best duo around, on a Sunday afternoon. Can you name this duo, Kimosabe?

Answer: Lone Ranger and Tonto

Tonto was a faithful friend and follower of the Lone Ranger. I remember watching the repeat episodes on Sunday afternoons. John Hart did play the role of the Lone Ranger for one season. But nobody said "Hi-Yo Silver..." like Clayton could.
7. This couple was totally crazy, and in love with each other. Never mind that they were a little illegal at times. They were just out to have a good time and to rob a few banks along the way. Who are these characters?

Answer: Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde were portrayed by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in the 1967 movie of the same name. You can actually see the real Bonnie and Clyde car at the Primm Valley Hotel and Casino in Nevada. Bonnie put it best when she said, "We rob banks!" I'd say that pretty much sums it up Bonnie.
8. This dynamic duo was "zapping", "powing" and "socking" all the time in their television show. Actually, I'm going to give you their names. They were known as Batman and his sidekick, Robin. But could you give me their real names?

Answer: Adam West and Burt Ward

Adam West was Bruce Wayne, the Caped Crusader while Burt Ward picked up the role of Dick Grayson. Alan Napier played the role of Alfred, the butler. George Clooney did don the mask, years later. I enjoyed all the different words on the screen in the older days of "Batman", the "BIF", the "CRASH" and the "SPLAT".
9. One sang a little bit country and the other sang a little bit of rock and roll. Can you name this musical duo?

Answer: Donny and Marie

Donny was born in 1957 and his little baby sister, Marie, was born in 1959. Donny and Marie had their own television series in 1976. They had numerous guest celebrities on the show including, Farrah Fawcett, Barbara Eden and Andy Gibb. The show was nominated for two Emmys but never picked one up. You could usually catch some of the other Osmond brothers performing an act or two.

Donnie and Marie went on to star in a talk show in 1998. The old "Batman" duo, Burt Ward and Adam West appeared as guests on the newer show. Barbara Eden visited the Osmond duo again in the newer show too.
10. This duo is a little unique. One is green and eats a few flies. The other just adores herself and can be a little 'porky'. Can you name this twosome?

Answer: Kermit and Miss Piggy

The Muppets are the cutest things since Mickey Mouse. I'm sorry Miss Piggy, but rumor has it that Kermit is the most popular Muppet of all time. He's got the cutest little eyes and the nicest smile of all. Miss Piggy joined the gang in 1979.

Jim Henson was the voice of Kermit from 1969 to 1990 on "Sesame Street". Jim passed away in 1990 from bacterial pneumonia. He was only 53 when he passed on, but he left us years of entertainment.

Thanks for playing partner, hope you had a good old time too. Ya'll come back now, ya hear?
