Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the killer in the "Halloween" movies?

Answer: Michael Myers

Michael Myers had a plain white mask with brown hair, it did not have a facial expression, which made it that much scarier. I wonder if Michael Myers, the actor from "Austin Powers", got his name from these movies?
2. What was the name of the killer in the first "Friday the 13th" movie?

Answer: Pamela Voorhees

The only so-called mask Pamela Voorhees wears is that of a kind, innocent lady whose son died while away at camp. Even after the movie "Scream" makes mention of it, a lot of people still think that Jason did the killing in part one.
3. Which "Friday the 13th" film did the killer get his trademark hockey mask?

Answer: Friday the 13th, Part 3: 3D

In the earlier movies he wore a white burlap sack over his head with one eye hole cut out. Shelly, played by Lary Zerner, brings the hockey mask to scare the campers but Jason takes it and wears it for the remainder of the series. Lary Zerner is now a successful lawyer in California.
4. The mask used in the original "Halloween" movie was a William Shatner "Star Trek" mask painted white.

Answer: True

It was shot on such a low budget that they simply went to a costume store and bought the William Shatner mask and painted it white. I have to say it worked well.
5. What is the name of Spider-Man's secret identity?

Answer: Peter Parker

There was even a spoof comic called "Peter Porker The Amazing Spiderham".
6. In what film, co-staring Ben Affleck, do we see Daredevil on a movie lot?

Answer: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

You have to be quick to see this one. When Jay and Silent Bob are running from security on the movie lot, you see a man in an obvious 'Daredevil' suit, have to jump out of their way. 'Daredevil' was the first blind superhero, so his mask has no actual eye holes.
7. What color is the Lone Ranger's horse?

Answer: White

Silver was the name of his horse, not the color. The Lone Ranger not only wore his black mask over his eyes, but he also wore complete false identies so he could walk around town and not be noticed.
8. Robin is Batman's cousin.

Answer: False

Bruce Wayne, Batman, takes in Dick, Robin, after his parents are killed, but they are not related.
9. What actor is behind the devil mask in the movie "Legend"?

Answer: Tim Curry

No one plays a better Satan than Tim Curry does in this film. The devil mask was complete with two very long horns coming out from the top.
10. What was the killer's mask made out of in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"?

Answer: Human Flesh

Even though he's called Leatherface, it is human flesh.
11. This Spanish California hero always leaves behind his simple "one-letter calling card' with his sword. Who is this masked man?

Answer: Zorro

Zorro has been a hero since the early 1900's and has always used a mask to cover only his eyes.
12. What was the name of the masked villain in the "Star Wars" spoof "Spaceballs"?

Answer: Dark Helmet

Dark Helmet is played by Rick Moranis.
13. What actor physically played Darth Vader in the movie "Star Wars"?

Answer: David Prowse

David Prowse did all of the physical acting under the mask of Darth Vader, but he didn't know they were going to use James Earl Jones voice over his own.
14. What was the name of the clown in the film Stephen King's "It"?

Answer: Pennywise

It wasn't really a mask that he wore, but a face full of clown makeup that worked just as well. Tim Curry once again did an excellent acting job.
15. What PBS children's show featured Spider-Man as a regular feature?

Answer: The Electric Company

They did a pretty good job on his costume and mask, but you have to be pretty old to get this one right.
