Answer: Hunting

Katniss has been hunting and is making her way home at the beginning of the book. After she drops off the meat at Gale's house Katniss goes to the Hob for lunch. On the way out Katniss grabs Haymitch's liquor, and Greasy Sue teases her before she leaves to get ready.

Answer: she splashes water in his face

Katniss makes Haymitch some coffee, but only after she tries to shake him, so do not work. Katniss is on her own, because Peeta does not arrive until later.
"'What are you doing?', roars Haymitch as he lunges out of his chair and grabs his knife. 'Asked you to wake me without giving me pneumonia.'"

Answer: Snow

Snow arrives and grills Katniss about what she did. Snow accuses her of inciting rebellion and agrees to punish her. While Katniss is on tour and during the games Snow lives up to his threat, and plans to destroy District 12. Snow kills Cray and replaces him with a hard nosed dictator named Romulus who flogs Gale in the street.

He electrifies the fence, making it impossible for Katniss to hunt, and shocks her in the process. And if that were not enough, when the Capital loses viewership for the "Hunger Games", he bombs District 12 and burns down the Hob.

The citizens of District 12 escape to District 13, where they are rescued.

Answer: Johanna Mason

Johanna enters the elevator and complains that her stylist is an idiot, then says she should have had Cinna make her costume. To get a rise out of Katniss on her way to her floor Johanna does a striptease, and when the elevator arrives at level 7 she walks out of the elevator buck naked. Johanna always gets on Katniss's nerves, but she is fun to work with since she is a member of the alliance to bring down Snow. Johanna works in a paper plant in District 7 and is the daughter of a logger.

She is skilled with axes and knives and has a whole collection of tomahawks, which she is not afraid to use on the Careers.

Answer: Woof

When the bloodbath starts Finnick signals to Chaff to take Mags and the older members of the alliance into the woods to hide, while the younger members of the alliance head to the Cornucopia with Katniss to retrieve their weapons and a bale of cable that Beetee needs to deactivate the force fields. On the way the Careers ambush them and Katniss shoots at Gloss and Enobaria, who escape into the water to dodge the arrows; Gloss gets hit in the calf, which slows him down. Finnick shows the bracelet to Katniss and tells her he is a member of the alliance, then they head to where Mags and Peeta are. Finnick and Peeta take out the males from Districts 5 and 9, while Johanna and Brutus take out the females from Districts 9 and 10. Woof is the first to die, most likely drowned or killed by Cashmere; Brutus kills Cecelia as she is escaping, and Gloss most likely kills Seeder with a dagger, since they are next to each other.

Answer: Bread

Haymitch sends them loaves of bread with patterns on them to indicate the day and the time of the rescue, and the placement of the wire in relation to the shape of the arena. Beetee and Haymitch tell Katniss the plan on the final day when she is rescued.

The district the bread come from is District 3, indicating the day; the number of loaves indicates the time as 12:00 midnight, and the pattern indicates the placement of the wire. With this knowledge, the alliance drew up their escape plan to get the tributes out of the arena.

Answer: Blight from electrocution

It is in this time that the tributes learn the arena is a clock with an electrified force field around it, and traps are placed in every sector which are activated every hour by the Game Makers and kills the tributes. Peeta and Blight run into the force field and both go down. Finnick revives Peeta, but Blight is not so lucky - he dies minutes after the 24 Hours of Horror begins.

At 1:00 am it rains blood and Johanna has to drag Beetee and Wiress with her back to camp after they are attacked by the Careers.

At 2:00 am the poison gas fog appears and Mags dies when she commits suicide by going into it. While they are moving the female Morphling gets killed by the monkey mutts at 3:00 am, and Peeta only had enough time to say goodbye. As for the District 10 male he gets mauled by beast mutts in sector 6, and the Peacekeepers had to send home what was left of him in a match box.

While the alliance was headed to the lake the District 5 female was killed when the Game Makers flooded the arena at 10:00 pm.

The alliance takes shelter by the lake and Wiress is singing "Hickory Dickory Dock". Cashmere and Gloss arrive and Wiress gets stabbed by Gloss. Katniss takes out Gloss with an arrow and Johanna throws an ax at Cashmere, which lands between her breasts and kills her instantly. The Game Makers are ordered by Snow to spin the Cornucopia and all of them are knocked in the water. When Snow leaves, Plutarch says, "That's enough" and stops the rotation.

Answer: They use Beetee's cable and an arrow to shut down the force field.

The plan is to use Beetee's cable to blow the force field. Katniss and Johanna take the cable down to the beach, but they get spotted by Careers. Johanna cuts out their trackers and they play dead, forcing the Careers to leave. Katniss goes to find Peeta, but they get ambushed by Brutus, who kills Chaff. Peeta takes out Brutus, Katniss shoots an arrow at the force field and once the clock hits 12 the surge blows the force field. District 13 finds them and they make it out.

Answer: Katniss, Finnick, and Beetee

Of the six tributes, only Katniss, Finnick, and Beetee are rescued. Everyone else is either killed or captured by the Capital and Peacekeepers. Enobaria is sent back to her district, which will later be captured by District 13; Johanna is given shock therapy and is waterboarded, making her develop a fear of water; Peeta is injected with Tracker Jacker venom and brainwashed with orders to kill Katniss.

Answer: Gale

Gale explains what happened after Katniss and Peeta left on the train. Romulus called in an airstrike and the Capital Air Force bombed District 12. Every building was destroyed, along with some of the mines, which ignited when the coal dust caught fire from the bombs.

The only thing that was not destroyed was the Meadow and Victors' Village. Gale managed to get the survivors out just as the first bomb was dropped. Those that made it to the Meadow escaped over the fence to District 13. Those that were in the Seam or in the rubble of the Hob were killed the moment the bombs fall. All that is left of District 12 is a pile of ash, the remains of a once great district.
