Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Katniss and Peeta reunited in the Winter for the victory tour, why did Peeta fall over so easily?

Answer: After the first "Hunger Games" his leg was amputated

When Katniss and Peeta were attacked by the Mutts in "The Hunger Games", Peeta's leg got caught by one of the Mutts. Katniss created a tourniquet. After the Games his leg got amputated in the book, but not in the movie. Katniss forgot that he had one artificial leg and Peeta wasn't really used to it yet, so he fell.
2. What was on the cookies that Peeta had baked, that were given to President Snow when he was in Katniss' Victors Village house?

Answer: Tiger lilies

When President Snow unexpectedly showed up at the Everdeen's residence, Katniss' mother brought Katniss and President Snow some tea and a couple of cookies. Katniss noticed that they were beautifully decorated with tiger lilies that only could have been made by Peeta.
3. In "The Hunger Games" it was Madge, the mayor's daughter, who gave Katniss her District token. What did she give Katniss after Gale was whipped, to stop his pain?

Answer: A box full of morphling

Because Madge and Katniss were both outsiders at school, they silently agreed to sit with each other at lunch. That bond created some sort of friendship. At the first "Hunger Games" Madge gave her the Mockingjay pin; in "Catching Fire" she showed up in the middle of a blizzard to hand them a box and said she needed to use it on Gale.

Then she ran off. When Katniss opened the box she discovered it was some kind of painkiller called morphling.
4. Why does Katniss never notice when Peeta has a nightmare?

Answer: When he wakes up and sees her he doesn't feel panicked anymore

In "Catching Fire" Katniss asks Peeta "Peeta, how does it come that I never notice it when you have a nightmare?" He says that he doesn't scream or anything like it, he just wakes up paralyzed by fear. When Katniss says that he needs to wake her up when it happens he answers "Not necessary. In most of my nightmares I'm afraid to lose you, so when I wake up and see you, it's okay."
5. At the 25th "Hunger Games", what was exactly the Quarter Quell?

Answer: The citizens had to vote which kids went into the Games

At the announcement of the 75th Quarter Quell, President Snow first repeated what the former Quells were. At the 25th Games every District had to vote which boy and girl went into the Games. At the 50th "Hunger Games", the year Haymitch participated, they sent forty-eight children into the arena instead of twenty-four. At the 75th Games, former victors were sent into the Games again.
6. With what act did Peeta surprise the Gamemakers at the Training Hall?

Answer: He drew a portrait of Rue when she died

Katniss had to wait a long time before she could enter the Training Hall after Peeta. After that long period she entered the hall and saw a big mat in the middle of the room, but she didn't know what was beneath it. She also smelled cleaning agents. When Katniss revealed what she had done, Peeta said he drew Rue.
7. With what act did Katniss surprise the Gamemakers at the Training Hall?

Answer: By hanging a doll with Seneca Crane's name on it

Katniss wants to show her hatred to the Gamemakers but she doesn't yet know how. Then it comes to her mind. She wants to do something more powerful than Peeta's act. She grabs a doll, makes a noose like Finnick taught her, hangs it around one of the bars at the ceiling, grabs the paint and paints Seneca Crane on it.
8. Between four o'clock and five o'clock the Jabberjays were active in the arena. What sound did they make?

Answer: The screams of the tributes' loved ones

Between four and five in the clock arena, the Jabberjays were found all over the place. Katniss heard the screams of Prim and Gale; for Finnick it was Annie. They couldn't escape the zone because it was blocked with an invisible barrier.
9. After Peeta shows his medallion with the pictures of her family to Katniss, Katniss tries to sleep. What does she think of when she dozes off?

Answer: A world without the Games and the Capitol

When Finnick takes over Katniss' guard time she tries to sleep. When she dozes off she imagines a world without the Games and without the Capitol. A world where Peeta's child could be saved.
10. When, after the tributes have blown up the forcefield of the arena, Katniss thinks she is picked up by the Capitol, with what tool does she want to help Peeta stop suffering?

Answer: With a syringe needle

When they finally let her free from the medicine, she assumed she and Peeta were captured by the Capitol. She didn't want Peeta to be tortured, so she grabbed the only thing she could find: a syringe needle. She wanted to kill Peeta with it so the Capitol had no power over him.
