In this scene we are introduced to the power-hungry Lord Cutler Beckett, who produces warrants for the lovers' arrest. When asked on what charges, he recalls their involvement in Jack's rescue from the gallows. Apparently by assisting Jack in his escape from hanging in 'The Curse of the Black Pearl', they condemned themsleves to the same fate.

Answer: A skeleton's limb

After Jack shoots his way out of the coffin and expresses his condolences to the bird he killed, he breaks a limb off of the skeleton. He then apologises for any inconvenience caused and proceeds to row himself to the 'Pearl'. Trust Jack to draw attention to himself with a good 'second' first impression!

Answer: A heart

The heart is that of Davy Jones, king of the ocean depths and keeper of the dreaded Kraken. He is also keeper of the key which Jack is so desperate to find. In order to get to the chest, Jack relies on his 'broken' compass to point the way.

Jack offers to give up Will in order to pay his debt but apparently Jack's soul is worth a lot more than just one. Jack agrees to Davy Jones' offer and immediately heads off to Tortuga to look for 100 willing 'crew members' as he only has three days to complete this task.

The former Commodore, usually so clean shaven and dressed to the T, surprises us with his unkept appearance. His dignity and pride have also been somewhat lessened as he stoops to the low of requesting to join Jack's crew. Elizabeth notices his ragged condition and, with pity, whispers "James Norrington, what has the world done to you?"

Answer: True

Will challenges Davy Jones to a game of Deception, offering to serve Davy Jones for an eternity if he loses. If he wins, he gets the key to the chest. Unable to bear the thought of his own son having to endure such a terrible fate if he loses, Bootstrap includes himself in the game and takes Will's punishment upon himself when he does, in fact, lose. Will is horrified at this sacrifice and promises to free his father, whatever the cost.

Answer: Elizabeth

When Jack realises that Elizabeth is to join his crew, he recollects the incident on the stranded island and acts quickly to secure his rum from this new threat.

Answer: Jack

This sequel brings along a lot of surprises including the possibility of a tinge of romance between Jack and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is troubled at the prospect of the compass telling her that Jack is her real desire, not her fiance. However, Jack could have merely been standing in the way as the compass pointed towards the location of the chest.

In this light, the direction of the compass point can be seen as ambiguous.

Answer: A monkey

Tia Dalma demands payment and Jack complies by giving her the undead monkey. She accepts this small token and tells Jack where to find the key in return. She also gives him a free jar of sand to ward off Davy Jones as Jones can never step foot on land except once every decade.

Answer: Barbossa

Barbossa appears, takes a bite out of his apple and enquires "What's become of my ship?" The film ends here, leaving a few jaws dropped and almost everyone anticipating the continuation of the journey in the third installment. Thanks for playing my quiz!
