Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who said, "I'm not going to eat you."?

Answer: Will Turner

Will went looking for Jack to help he (Will) and Elizabeth escape a death sentence. He landed on an island where he encountered a parrot who begged Will not to eat him. Will simply told him he would not eat him and then continued on his quest to locate Jack.
2. Complete the sentence, "We were ____ for trying to help you." - Will Turner

Answer: Arrested

Will got caught in a trap in the jungle when a member of the cannibalistic tribe shot a poisoned dart into his neck, knocking him out. Will was then carried to the tribal land where he came face to face with Jack Sparrow. Jack appeared to not recognize Will so Will informed him that he and Elizabeth were arrested for helping him escape.
3. Who told Lord Cutler Beckett, "I'm here to negotiate."?

Answer: Elizabeth Swann

Elizabeth went to talk to Lord Cutler Beckett, since she told him that she believed they could negotiate a deal regarding her and Will's arrest. She then pulled a gun out on him to illustrate how serious she was. During the negotiations, Lord Cutler Beckett remarked on Elizabeth going to great efforts just to appease Jack Sparrow.
4. Complete the sentence, "See, the Pelegostos believe that Jack is a ___ in human form." - Gibbs.

Answer: God

Will Turner and his pirate friends were held captive by the tribal members who lived on the island of Pelegosto. Gibbs was alongside Will and explained to him that Jack did not cause them to be in their situation, since he had to act like a Chief to the Pelegostos. He mentioned that the Pelegostos saw Jack as a God who possessed a human body.
5. Who said, "Hide the rum."?

Answer: Jack Sparrow

There was a scene, midway through the movie, where Jack reunited with Elizabeth. He then instructed a man of his to hide the rum, if there was any nearby. The man followed Jack's order and began looking for rum to hide. This was a reference to the previous film, when Jack and Elizabeth were stranded on an island and he got upset when Elizabeth burned all the bottles of rum in hopes that the smoke would attract the attention of a rescue crew.
6. Who claimed, "Once you've sworn an oath to the Dutchman, there's no leaving it."?

Answer: Bootstrap Bill Turner

Bill was talking to his son, Will, when he mentioned the rules regarding swearing an oath to a Dutchman and how one could not get out of the oath. Will reminded his father that he never swore such an oath. Bill then advised his son that he still needed to get away from him, since his life would be in danger.
7. Who asked Will, "What service may I do you?"

Answer: Tia Dalma

Jack and Will sought out assistance from Tia Dalma, since they knew she could help them. She noticed Will and asked him how she could specifically help him. Will showed her a map with a drawing of a key and he asked her to help him locate it, since the ship contained a key he needed to retrieve.
8. Who asked, "So tell me, what's become of my ship?"

Answer: Captain Barbossa

In the final scene, Will, Elizabeth, Gibbs, Ragetti and Pintel went with Tia Dalma to her hut after they lost control of The Black Pearl. Tia asked them if they would sail to the ends of the Earth to retrieve the ship and all of them said yes. Tia mentioned to them they would need a captain to commandeer a ship ready to brave the strong waters, while they went in search of The Black Pearl.

This was when Barbossa came down a flight of steps and asked the men whatever happened to The Black Pearl.
9. Davy Jones asked the question, "Do you fear death?"

Answer: True

Will and his pirate friends sailed off on a ship to locate Davy Jones and his men during a huge storm. They battled Davy Jones' men but were overpowered by them. In the next scene, Davy Jones appeared and asked one of the men if he feared death. Davy often asked this question during the movie, right before either killing the person or having them on board his ship as a crew member.
10. Who said, "Do excuse me while I kill the man who ruined my life."?

Answer: Norrington

Norrington had a confrontation with Jack Sparrow, where he intended to kill him and accused the pirate of ruining his life. Will simply commented to Norrington that he would not object to his killing Jack. Jack then told Norrington to think back at how he got into the predicament of taking orders from pirates.
