Homer calls a family announcement at the dinner table. Bart and Homer are unhappy when they get told by Marge that it is Lisa's recital at the School on the same Saturday. Marge asks them what time it is on at and Homer says '8 o'clock'. Homer and Bart are happy when Lisa's recital is at 5:00pm.

Rod: "When's Todd's solo Dad?". Ned: "It's coming up son, it's coming up!". This is at the recital which Lisa is participating in.

Leo: "Mrs. Simpson, I'm Leo G. Clark, Inventor and operator of Truckasaurus. Let me just say, Truckasaurus feels very badly about what happened". Marge then gets a half bottle of champagne off Leo.

When Bart, Homer, Marge, Maggie and Lisa go with Doctor Hibbert to see people who have suffered 'entertainment related accidents', there is a boy who broke his leg trying to fly like Superman and there is a boy who's brother hit him with a wrench from watching the wrestling match at the start of the episode.

Bart: "Otto, i'm gonna leap over Springfield Gorge on my skateboard". Otto: "You know Bart as the only adult here I feel I should say something". Bart: "What?" Otto: "Cool!". This is when the Springfield Elementary kids go on the field trip to the Springfield Gorge.

Otto is humming into his microphone driving from the Springfield Gorge. Bart asks Otto if he can borrow the microphone. Bart gets it and tells the students on the bus that on Saturday he is going to leap over Springfield Gorge on his skateboard. He then sits next to Lisa when she says the line.

Nelson: "Where is he? I thought he said noon!" Milhouse: "Oh, he's just doing this to build a suspense". Nelson: "What a Showman!". After this dialogue is said Bart comes down the street and does a few warm-up tricks.

Bart is wearing a blue vest with a skull on. He also has a red cape on.

Homer attempts to jump the gorge to show Bart what it is like to risk your life. Homer jumps in the end. He says he won't but the skateboard drags him down anyway. He thinks he is going to make it but crashes and hits his body on multiple rocks. The episode ends with Homer in a hospital bed next to Lance Murdock, when Homer says "You think you got guts, try raising my kids!"

Note: In "The Simpsons Movie" Homer and Bart jump the Gorge on the motorbike together!
