Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the beginning of the episode, Bart and Lisa fight over which of these?

Answer: A bottle of glue

The episode begins with marge removing turkey innards in preparation for a Thanksgiving dinner. As Maggie breaks free of her high chair, the rest of the family is in the living room. Homer watches TV while Bart and Lisa fight on the couch. Homer stops them from fighting over a simple bottle of glue, but Lisa says that Bart is just looking to be territorial; he only wants the glue because she needs it.

When Bart tosses the glue aside after she hands it to him, she runs off to finish her errand. Homer and Bart go back to watching the Thanksgiving Day parade.
2. Which of these historical female figures was not on Lisa's cornucopia centerpiece?

Answer: Marie Curie

While the guys watch TV, Maggie crawls upstairs (not a safe task, evidently) and finds Lisa in her room working diligently to create her masterpiece, a cornucopia arrangement commemorating trail-blazing women of American history which she hopes to place in the center of the dinner table. Lisa allows Maggie to help decorate.
In the kitchen, Bart claims that he wants to help make dinner. He proves to be a nuisance, even when trying to open a can of cranberry sauce. It doesn't take long before he leaves.
3. What does Homer state is his favourite football team?

Answer: Dallas Cowboys

Homer continues to watch TV though it's clear that he's moved on to the football game. He hijacks Maggie on her way through the living room and gets into game mode shortly before Marge reminds him that he needs to pick up Grandpa. He states that he'll do as she asks, but won't go until half-time.

At that moment, Marge's sisters, Patty and Selma, arrive with Swedish meatballs and salmon almondine. Homer makes a scene by kissing both of them (to please Marge) much to their disliking and he heads out to the retirement home.
4. Marge's mother attends Thanksgiving dinner.

Answer: True

Homer arrives at Grandpa's home just as the old folks are sitting down for their turkey puree and the announcement of letter from family members who wished they could make it for a visit (but couldn't). Homer wants to leave immediately- he finds the place depressing.
Meanwhile, at home, the Bouvier girls baste the turkey as their mother, Jacqueline, arrives at the house. Marge answers the door to her laryngitis-stricken mother only to be told that she can't do anything right. Homer tries to start a fire and is criticized by everyone BUT Mrs. Bouvier.
5. Who brings the turkey to the family's Thanksgiving dinner table?

Answer: Bart

The family sits down to dinner as Lisa brings down her elaborate centerpiece. Everyone compliments her work, but as she explains her reasoning behind the piece Bart interrupts her and waltzes in with the turkey. Homer is thrilled. Bart and Lisa argue for room on the table and in their argument, Bart accidentally tosses all of her hard work into the fire (sparking the flames that Homer tried to light earlier).

The two of them fight and knock over a lot of the food on the table before Marge and Homer split them up. Lisa runs crying to her bed and Marge and Homer send Bart up to his room without dinner for ruining Thanksgiving.
6. How does Bart escape his room without apologizing?

Answer: Through the window

Bart can't see the error of his ways and blames the others for the issues during dinner. Meanwhile, downstairs Homer says grace and alludes to the events that have just transpired (to which one of Marge's sisters comments "worst prayer yet"). Lisa starts playing her sax and Marge heads up to talk to both kids. Lisa isn't ready to come out; she's lost her appetite.

When Marge speaks to Bart, she says that he must apologize sincerely to Lisa before he comes out for dinner. Bart doesn't agree and decides to leave by climbing out his window, down a tree, and into the backyard.
7. Who accompanies Bart through town after leaving home?

Answer: Santa's Little Helper

As Bart makes his way out of the house, Homer forces Santa's Little Helper out the back door after the family dog gets its teeth on a turkey drumstick from the dinner table. The two of them decide to depart together in search of a Thanksgiving dinner.
They arrive at Mr. Burns' house first to find a feast (which Mr. Burns plans on promptly disposing of since he's too full after a single bite). When Bart tries to steal a pie from the windowsill, a security system catches his near-theft and Burns releases the hounds. Luckily, Bart escapes at the last minute by falling through a tall hedge.
8. What does Bart decide to do to earn money for Thanksgiving dinner?

Answer: Donate blood

Lisa decides to write metaphorical poetry against her brothers actions. Meanwhile, the boy and dog cross the wrong side of the tracks into Springfield's seedy underbelly. Bart goes into a blood bank, lies about his age with Homers ID, and donates to earn money. When he leaves, he faints due to the blood loss and he's found by some homeless guys. These men bring Bart to a rescue mission when he comes to.
At home, the family wonders when Bart will apologize. Grandpa says that when Homer was a boy, he folded instantly (to which Homer agrees).
9. Which character does Bart find at the rescue mission?

Answer: Kent Brockman

At the rescue mission, Kent Brockman presents a piece about thankfulness for the news. The family watches from home on the TV before Lisa comes downstairs with her poem about the evening's big argument only to be interrupted once more, this time when the family realizes that Bart is on TV. Bart lies to the reporter and says that he didn't apologize, but the family does care- they're all shocked he's at a rescue mission.

As the reporter heads out, the homeless people return to the street. Bart, feeling bad, gives the men who found him his blood donation money and rushes home. The police arrive at the Simpson house to ask questions about Bart and Homer and Marge admit that they've been a bit harsh.

The rest of the family leaves.
10. Does Bart apologize for his behavior?

Answer: Yes

Bart finds himself at home as night falls and stands outside the door thinking of possible reactions to his return. He decides not to go in fearing that his family will still be angry. Instead, he goes to the roof to find a stockpile of unfound, lost items tossed up there at an earlier date.

Here, he hears Lisa writing in her journal about missing Bart despite his horrible actions. When she starts to cry, he calls to her from a pipe in the ceiling (leading to her vent) and gets her to come to the roof. Lisa asks him why he burned her centerpiece, but he can't explain why he did.

She soon convinces him to apologize though because he finds that he feels bad for hurting his sisters feelings. She accepts. Homer and Marge, eavesdropping from the bathroom below, realize that everything will be okay. Bart and Lisa come inside and everyone heads downstairs to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers around the kitchen table as a family.
