Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After Tuco and his men left the junkyard, Walt and Jesse sat in Jesse's car, while Walt did some calculations. To what was Walt referring when he mentioned the number 737?

Answer: Thousands of dollars for his family

Walt had calculated the amount of money he needed to leave for his family, and that number was $737,000. He told Jesse that they'd need to do eleven more drug deals for each of them to get that amount. He also told Jesse that their future meetings would be in public places. Both Walt and Jesse looked pretty shook up from watching Tuco beat his henchman known as No-Doze for essentially no reason.
2. As Walt and Jesse were leaving the junkyard, Tuco and Gonzo returned, nearly crashing into Jesse's car. Tuco got out of his vehicle, yelling for Heisenberg. What did he want Walt to do?

Answer: Perform CPR on No-Doze

Tuco pulled a convulsing No-Doze out of the SUV and told Walt to perform CPR on him: "Do something. You're smart, right? Do that thing". Tuco wanted Walt to breathe into his mouth, but Walt said, "they don't teach that anymore". Then Tuco told Jesse to do it, but Walt stopped him because it was too late.

When Tuco realized No-Doze was dead, he told Gonzo to get rid of the body, so Gonzo put the body under a stack of vehicles that shifted slightly while he was doing so.
3. Jesse had used the Dog House restaurant to make drug deals in the past. What did he buy there with a stack of cash in this episode?

Answer: A gun

Jesse had a wad of cash under his food tray, which was picked up by a man who then gave him a paper sack with a gun in it. Jesse later told Walt that he believed Tuco was planning to kill them. He said that he'd had multiple hang up calls on his phone last night and a black Caddy driving in his neighborhood with no headlights. Walt said no to the gun, but Jesse argued, "It's him or us".

But Jesse couldn't even figure out how to open the gun to see how many bullets were in it.
4. Hank and Gomez were watching a security tape of the night two thieves (Walt and Jesse) broke into a warehouse to get a barrel of methylamine. Hank and Gomez were impressed with the use of thermite to burn through the lock, but what made them laugh?

Answer: The thieves carried a barrel rather than roll it.

Gomez told Hank that thermite was "the kind of stuff you see in a James Bond movie", and Hank was impressed that the thieves knew to use it. But then they started laughing when they saw the thieves carrying the barrel ("try rolling it, morons"). When Gomez told Hank that the thieves had stolen methylamine, Hank said that they must be "cooking old school Biker meth". Hank deduced that the thieves had "book learning but no street skills" which led Gomez to guess that they might be college chem students.
5. After spotting a dark SUV parked near his house, Walt became paranoid like Jesse, but he still didn't agree with Jesse's proposal for dealing with Tuco. What method did Walt suggest for eliminating Tuco?

Answer: Poisoning his meth sample with ricin

Walt noticed a dark SUV parked in his neighborhood, and when he approached it, the driver turned around and took off. He grilled Jesse about how Tuco could know where he lived, but Jesse claimed he never said anything. When Jesse suggested they get a second gun for their attack on Tuco, Walt said he had a better idea and showed Jesse castor beans. "Are we just going to grow a magic bean stalk, climb it and escape?" asked Jesse.

When Walt explained that they were going to process the castor beans into ricin, Jesse thought he meant "rice and beans". Walt then told him about how the Soviets used a ricin pellet to kill a Bulgarian journalist in the 1970s, and after they created the ricin, Walt mixed the ricin in with a small packet of meth that he told Jesse they would give to Tuco as a sample of their new product.
6. Hank stopped by the house to ask Skyler to return Marie's calls. What did Skyler tell Hank about Marie that she discovered Hank already knew?

Answer: She was a shoplifter.

When Skyler asked Hank if Marie had sent him, Hank answered that he was there for "self preservation" because Marie wasn't really talking to him. Hank knew the two had had a fight, but he told Skyler that they needed to talk it out. Skyler then told him the reason she didn't want to talk to Marie was because Marie had shoplifted the baby shower gift and didn't even apologize when Skyler nearly was arrested when trying to return it. Hank's response surprised her: "Yeah, I thought you were going to return it". Hank admitted that he knew about Marie's problem and that they were working on it.

But when Hank told Skyler that they needed to support Marie, Skyler's eye twitched and she blew, "I need support. Me. The almost 40-year-old pregnant woman with the surprise baby on the way. And the husband with the lung cancer who disappears for hours on end..." She also ranted about her moody son, the overdrawn bank account, and the broken water heater.

When she broke into tears, Hank tried to give her a hug and offered to check the water heater.
7. While he was working at a crime scene in the junkyard, Hank called Walt to apologize for the scene with Skyler. He then sent Walt a picture from the crime scene where No-Doze was found dead. Who else was in the picture?

Answer: Gonzo

Hank asked if Walt had been home yet and then apologized "in advance" for getting involved with Marie and Skyler's fight. He figured that Skyler would complain to Walt. Hank was at the junkyard where No-Doze had been killed. But the picture he sent to Walt also showed Gonzo, and Hank said that they were "a couple of local bullet-heads" who had "pissed off the wrong guy". Jesse was looking at the picture over Walt's shoulder, and they both looked shocked.
8. After seeing the photo of the two bodies that Hank had sent from the junkyard, what did Walt tell Jesse to do?

Answer: Leave town

Walt ran into Jesse's kitchen and grabbed Jesse's gun. Jesse tussled with him, arguing that it was his and he needed it, but Walt told him he didn't if he left town. He told Jesse, "Get out of here" because Tuco would come after them since he had already killed Gonzo. Walt then left to go protect his family, and Jesse grabbed the bag with his money from under his sink.
9. What did Hank realize about one of the bodies in the junkyard when he looked more closely at the crime scene?

Answer: It was an accidental death.

The first thing Hank noticed was that the bodies hadn't been dead for the same amount of time ("the big one smells fresher"). He couldn't see any bullet holes on Gonzo's body so he waited until the body was moved from its position against the car. When two of the crime scene personnel pulled Gonzo's body away from the vehicle, Gonzo's arm ripped off.

Then Hank realized what had happened: "Big stuff here was moving this guy's body when the stack [of cars] must have shifted. Crushed his arm, pinned him here and he bled out".
10. At the end of the episode, Walt looked out his window and saw Jesse parked in front of his house. What happened when he went out to ask Jesse what he was doing there?

Answer: Tuco pointed a gun at Jesse's head and told Walt to get in.

Jesse had tried to call Walt while Walt was talking with Skyler, but Walt didn't answer. He appeared to be ready to have a heart-to-heart talk with Skyler ("I don't know where to begin") when he saw car lights in front of his house. He went out to ask Jesse why he was there and then he saw the gun. Tuco had been lying down in the back seat; he leaned forward and told Walt to get in. Walt hesitantly did so, and they drove off.
