Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first episode of season 2, Walt and Jesse witness Tuco beating his henchman No-Doz to death. They are both rattled by witnessing this murder. In the aftermath, Walt and Jesse sit in Jesse's car dazed. Walt quickly figures out how much more money he needs to make sure his family is taken care of after his death. He tells Jesse the amount. What is the amount?

Answer: $737, 000

Vince Gilligan, the creator, writer, and director of "Breaking Bad" used this amount as the title of the first episode of the season. He cleverly placed a hidden message in all of the titles of season 2. This message indicates what happens in the season finale: "737" - "Down" - "Over" - "ABQ".
2. In episode 3 of season 2, Walt fakes a fugue state by walking into a grocery store, taking off all of his clothes, and wandering around the store naked. Does he ever tell anyone that he faked the fugue state?

Answer: Yes

Walt has been evaluated in the hospital for a few days. The doctors are having a hard time understanding, based on test results, why Walt had this "fugue" attack. The hospital shrink pays a visit to Walt to stress the psychological seriousness of the situation. Walt tells the shrink the truth in order to get out of the hospital more quickly.

He's assured by the shrink that doctor/patient privilege is in effect.
3. In episode 4, Jesse crashes into something with his body. What is it?

Answer: Porta potty

In this episode, Jesse is having a string of bad luck. He gets arrested. His parents kick him out of his Aunt's house. Walt will not talk to him or take his calls, and when he does will not listen long enough to help him. Jesse breaks into the junkyard where the RV is being kept by Badger's cousin.

When scaling the junkyard fence, he falls into the porta potty. We see him burst through the door covered in the blue dye and waste. He crawls to the RV, puts on a respirator, and falls asleep on the floor on the RV.

The next morning Badger's cousin follows the trail of sludge to find Jesse asleep in the RV.
4. What is Walt's street name/drug lord name?

Answer: Heisenberg

Heisenberg is Walt's street/drug lord name. Walt invented this name after the Werner Heisenberg who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1932.
5. What is the name of the "tweeker"/meth head that dies by getting his head crushed by an ATM machine?

Answer: Spooge

Skinny P gets robbed by Spooge and his tweeker wife. Jesse says to Skinny P, "Let me get this straight, you got jacked by a man named Spooge?" Spooge's wife kills him by pushing a stolen ATM machine over crushing Spooge's head. Jesse witnesses this murder, and tells everyone that he killed Spooge. This lie gives Jesse "street cred" for a while...until the truth is discovered.
6. When filling out the application to rent the apartment managed by Jane, Jesse gives her a fake last name. What fake last name does he give her?

Answer: Jackson

Jane sarcastically asks Jesse, "Your name is Jesse Jackson?" When Walt comes to visit Jesse he claims to be Jesse's father, she says, "You must be Mr. Jackson?" Walt looks confused and bemused for a second. Then, Jesse opens his apartment door and says, "Come on in, DAD..."
7. Hank makes his own home brewed beer. What does he name his beer?

Answer: Schraderbrau

Hank's man cave is in his home garage. This is where he "cooks" his home brew.
8. What is Saul Goodman's catch phrase?

Answer: Better Call Saul

Jesse finds Saul Goodman from his commercial ad. Saul Goodman becomes an asset to Walt and Jesse throughout this season. There's nothing better when you need help with your drug business than an unscrupulous lawyer!
9. What is the name of the manager of Los Pollos Hermanos that eventually becomes Walt and Jesse's new drug boss?

Answer: Gustavo

Walt and Jesse are told to go to Los Pollos Hermanos to wait for the guy, that knows the guy, that Saul knows to help them. They sit in the restaurant for a long time, and "the guy" is a no show. However, Walt goes back to the restaurant and figures out that the manager is "the guy." He asks for a few minutes of Gustavo's time and pleads his case. Gustavo reluctantly agrees to work with Walt because he's wary of Jesse being a drug addict.

In Season 3, the relationship that Walt and Jesse have with Gustavo gets deeper, more interesting, and ultimately more complicated.
10. Does Walt witness Jane's overdose and subsequent asphyxiation?

Answer: Yes

Walt goes to Jesse's apartment to find he and Jane in bed strung out on heroin. Jane starts to cough and vomit. Instead of helping her, Walt watches as she chokes to death on her own vomit and dies. He stands there stoically and cries once she is dead. Walt knows that Jane has not been a good influence on Jesse. In Walt's mind, this is the only way to eliminate Jane from the picture.
