Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to Flack, how many hotel rooms are there in the city?

Answer: 70,000

In the beginning of this episode, Mac and Stella are called to a laundromat for hotels where a man unloading a bag of sheets has found a woman with her throat slashed. According to Flack, there are 70,000 hotel rooms in the city, so Stella hypothesizes that they have a 70,000:1 chance of finding her room.
Meanwhile Aiden and Danny are called to the streets where they find a man in silver paint dead on the ground. The man is a street performer who stands like a statue for tips.
2. What is printed onto the sheets containing Jenny Lee's (the laundry victim's) body?

Answer: Lynford Hotels

While checking the sheets that the body was wrapped in, Mac and Stella find the words 'Lynford Hotels' on the corner. This narrows down their search to about a dozen hotels. Blood spatter on the blankets also indicate that the victim was killed on the bed. In the lab, Stella looks for the victim on the Missing Persons database and Mac narrows down the search to five hotels.
3. Of what nationality are the tourists that knock over the statue victim?

Answer: Swedish

Aiden and Danny talk to Officer Lilly at the crime scene and they are told that two Swedish tourists knocked the victim over while he was leaned up against the wall. He also said that his location was a great spot for cash because it was right outside the subway, but none of his money was stolen. Danny soon finds that the man used braces to keep his position and in the lab Hawkes discovers that the man was in poor physical condition (with lice, tooth decay, etc.).
4. What is found inside Jenny Lee's stomach?

Answer: Caviar

When Stella can't find a name on the database for the laundry victim, Hawkes tells her that the contents of the victim's stomach included $700 Almas Caviar. This along with the bedsheets leads the CSIs to the Dunsmore Hotel, a hotel where foreign diplomats often stay when the United Nations is called upon.

The hotel records say that only one serving of that specific caviar was delivered, and it was to room 523. Here the group meets Robert Costa, a diplomat for the island of Tescara, and his employees.

They have them clear out before investigating the apartment. Mac finds a laundry slip while Stella examines a hairbrush in the bathroom. Both of them find a bleached mattress and Mac rips it open to find dried blood.
5. During an interrogation at the hotel, did Robert Costa admit to knowing the victim?

Answer: Yes

After leaving the hotel, Flack digs up a bit of info on the Tescaran diplomat. In college he was accused of raping a woman named Susan Young (who had the same linear cuts on her limbs). Due to minute evidence and info given from his three dorm mates (now employees under him), Costa was let go. Flack and Mac talk to Costa about the facts and Costa admits to knowing the girl from the previous night.

He says that the woman's menstrual blood was what caused the stain in the mattress. The woman was also IDed as Jenny Lee.
6. What did the statue victim die of?

Answer: Natural causes

Oddly, Hawkes tells Aiden and Danny that their victim died of a brain aneurysm, and not of an injury. Although the death was natural, postmortem shaving indicates that someone took the body and placed it onto the streets. Mac tells Danny to drop the case because the body wasn't murdered, but Danny decides to stick with the case behind Mac's back.
7. What was the murder weapon that was used to kill Jenny Lee?

Answer: Champagne bottle

At the lab, Mac is told that a green dress and two bleach containers were found at the hotel as well as a broken champagne bottle with blood on it. He and Stella also discover that there were roofies in Jenny's system. They talk to Costa's driver and he claims he got a cut on his hand from a hubcap.

The driver's face was the one described to the police by Jenny's best friend. Meanwhile, Danny IDs the statue man as John Hawkins and discover that he has been arrested nine times by Officer Lilly for disorderly conduct. Lilly later tells the two that John Hawkins is actually a homeless man- not a performer.
8. Where does Danny find the serial number that links the statue victim to the murderer?

Answer: On the insole of a shoe

Using the video footage from the crime scene, Danny and Aiden find that the victim's femur to ulna ratio was shorter than a man standing at the same spot the previous day. Danny later finds the serial number on the insole of the victim's shoe.
Meanwhile, Mac and Stella find that the ring on Jenny Lee's finger was from Robert Costa's grandmother. They also analyze blood spatter from the victim when she was in different locations on the bed. They find that Jenny was on top of Robert Costa when they were together, yet she was drugged.
9. Officer Lilly killed John Hawkins (the statue victim).

Answer: False

After matching the insole number to a person, they bring the suspect in and find that his ratios match the ones from the surveillance tapes. David Scott, a professional street performer, is the culprit. He tried to help John Hawkins by giving him food, but he realized that the man was dead.

He took the body home, shaved it, braced it, and painted it, then placed it out onto the streets so he could have a day off to himself because he worked seven days a week for three years. He says that on his first day off, he didn't do anything, much like he does in his act.
10. Who killed Jenny Lee?

Answer: Frank Barret

After discovering the blood patterns and the history behind the ring, Mac tells Costa that he knows that he didn't kill Jenny. It turns out that Frank Barret, the man with the hearing aid, killed Jenny. Costa killed the woman that Barret loved (Susan), and Frank finally got revenge ten years later.

He drugged them and killed Susan before placing her overtop Costa. The blood dripping from the bed was louder due to his hearing aid so he ripped it out and tossed it behind a safe. He would have killed Costa's wife, but Costa didn't love her; he loved Jenny Lee.
