Answer: On the beach

While out at the beach in February, members of a polar bear club are out for a quick swim. On the way back in to shore, one man finds the corner of a chest and digs it up. When he opens it, he finds a kid stuffed inside. Mac and Stella arrive and dig up the chest only to find that it's actually much smaller than a chest.

It's more of a small box. The body suffers from severe rigor mortis and Mac and Hawkes are forced to pop the kid's bones back into place while Stella takes the box.

When the body is fully laid out, Mac finds a copper coin in the victim's hands. The coin was stamped near the Cyclone roller coaster. While checking the box, Stella finds a hair fiber that is too big to be human while Aiden finds that the rope from around the box is extremely strong.
Danny and Flack go to an apartment in the meantime to investigate a large pool of blood.

Answer: Miss Iowa

When they arrive at the apartment, Danny and Flack decide to search for a dead body because there's too much blood on the ground for a victim to have survived. Danny finds that the shower curtain is missing while Flack finds that there's a full fridge of food. Danny also finds red powder on the floor and takes a sample.

While doing this, he notices blood drops leading outside to a chute down the hall. This is where they find a body, but it's not Miss Iowa's. Meanwhile, Mac and Hawkes check the body of 'box boy'. Oddly, none of the kid's bones are broken despite the fact that he was stuffed into the small box.

Answer: Asian elephant

After discovering that the boy in the box was alive when he was placed into the box, Aiden tells Mac and Stella that the hair found in the box was from an Asian elephant, so Mac checks out the local circus. Here, he talks to a Russian contortionist who is actually the father of 'box boy'.

When Mac talks to Neiman, the contortionist breaks into a fight with a trapeze artist named Bernardo because of background issues.

Answer: Anasuya

Although Lukas was always the star of the show, Bernardo felt that Anasuya was the star. Anasuya claims that she and Lukas were friends and she has a necklace with a Cyclone symbol on it much like the coin from Lukas' hand. She says that Lukas got it for her on one of his trips out to the city. Both Lukas and Anasuya were main characters in the circus' main theme 'Romeo and Juliet'.

She also explains that her father hurt her arm so she didn't perform that night. He only hurt her arm grabbing her for the trapeze though.

Answer: Rosie

At the circus, Mac and Stella find an elephant as well as the strong twine from the box. When Mac looks into a garbage can, he finds Lukas' circus costume. They also notice that a nearby dolly has sand in its tires. At the lab, Mac finds two droplets on the costume that aren't sweat stains.

After taking a print from the dolly, Aiden finds that it's traced to the elephant handler. Later, Stella finds red make-up on the box and it belongs to a clown named Rosie. Rosie claims that the make-up on the box was part of the act, but he also caused the cane-shaped bruises on Lukas' behind during 'clown court'.

Answer: Lita

Flack and Danny catch Paige while she's hailing a cab and she IDs the victim as Lita Cartey. She also explains that her husband Jason Cartey was a major problem for Lita. When Danny and Flack interrogate Jason, he says that he was at the apartment, but he was talking to Lita through the closed apartment door.

This explains why Jason's fingerprints are all over the doorknob. Before she died, Lita had filed three charges of domestic violence against her husband.

Answer: Loomi

Loomi is also known as black lime, and it's a spice used in Middle Eastern dishes. When he realizes this, Danny gets frustrated and Mac tells him to stay on track and watch the evidence.
In Mac and Stella's case, Mac finds that there was traces of chalk found in the sweat of Lukas' costume. This brings him and Stella back to the trapeze artist, Bernardo, who says that he pulled Lukas off his daughter when he found them kissing.

Danny searches the apartment and finds a receipt for a grocery service that Lita used in order to stay in the apartment. In the interrogation room, Danny talks to the delivery man. Danny also says that he found blood on the man's pocketknife belonging to Lita.

He explains that he thought she wanted to sleep with him, but when she scratched him in the face when he tried to advance on her, he stabbed her in the thigh and cut an artery. She bled out while her husband was at the door and the delivery man stuffed her into the trash chute. In the other case, Hawkes is the first to find out that Lukas suffered from a disease that causes collagen to be manufactured slowly in his body.

This causes his bruises to last much longer and it explains why the bruise on Lukas' arm was still around after five days.

At the circus, Anasuya reveals that the droplets on Lukas' costume were from her. Her tears and mascara dripped onto the costume when she found him after he committed suicide in the box. She took Lukas' box to Coney Island because they'd been there together before. Anasuya was also supposed to commit suicide (like Romeo and Juliet) on the trapeze, but she changed her mind and let her father catch her arm.
