Travis is engaged to and lives with Madison, who is the mother of Nick and Alicia. Although Nick is a drug addict and has given his mother much grief, Travis tries to play a fatherly role for him and even goes to investigate the church where he seemed to have a psychotic incident (but really saw a walker feasting on a body).

Nick calls Madison and Travis in a state of shock after having a struggle with and shooting his drug dealer. When they go back with him to the scene of the crime, Calvin has vanished. As they are leaving by reversing through a tunnel, they see the transformed Calvin. Madison and Travis get out of the car to attempt to talk to him, not realizing what he is, and the walker tries to bite Madison. Nick then runs the walker over several times.

Travis is a Māori-American. The subject comes up when Troy Otto questions Travis about his background and is impressed by his Māori "warrior heritage." The Māori are the indigenous people of mainland New Zealand originating from settlers from East Polynesia.

Chris is the son Travis had with his ex-wife Elizabeth (Liza) Ortiz. Chris ends up parting with his father to run with a group of callous young men who kill him when he breaks his leg in an auto accident. Travis goes on to mourn his son, saying, "We're all living minute by minute, every single one of us, and at the drop of a hat we could all be done and you won't have a chance. I just wish that I told him."

Celia is killed when she is locked in the wine cellar by Madison. There, Celia keeps the infected because she still considers them friends and family. Predictably, she is devoured by walkers. Travis shoots and kills his ex-wife Liza out of mercy because she has been bitten. Brandon he beats to death in a rage because he learns Brandon shot his son after a car accident.

He also beats to death Derek, a member of Brandon's group, in the same fit of rage.

Answer: He slams Oscar's head in a door

Oscar Diaz, in an attempt to stop Travis from beating Brandon and Derek to death, pushes his way through the door where Travis is brawling with them. To keep him out, and clearly not thinking of the consequences, Travis slams the door on his head. Oscar later dies of a cerebral brain hemorrhage as a result.

Travis threw himself out of the helicopter shortly before his family settled at Broke Jaw Ranch. He never saw any of the subsequent camps where members of his family settled, including Dell Diamond Baseball Stadium and Wittington's Denim Company. He did spend some time living at the estate on the Abigail Family Vineyard with his family, Victor Strand, and Victor's boyfriend.

He also ended up at the Rosarito Beach Hotel for a short time with Madison and Alicia.

When a horde overruns the military facility where Travis was taken captive, he rescues Luciania and gets her to safety in a helicopter along with Alicia. Little do they know he was bitten when fighting off walkers in a walker pit. The helicopter takes off and later takes on fire, during which Travis gets shot.

He knows he will die in the helicopter from his bullet wound, and if he dies, he will turn and pose a risk to the others on the helicopter, so he throws himself out to protect them.

Lee, known as "Crazy Dog," was a former U.S. Army sniper who was a member of the Black Hat Reservation. He was attempting to shoot down the helicopter in which Travis was escaping when he shot Travis. The Black Hat Reservation wanted the helicopter for themselves, as they were engaged in a rivalry with the Ottos and Broke Jaw Ranch.
