Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Dr. Crusher visits Wesley at Starfleet Academy in this episode.

Answer: The First Duty

Picard joins Dr. Crusher when they both return to Earth to pay a visit to a rehabilitating Wesley, who had sustained injury during a mission involving his friend and squadron leader, Nick Locarno. The visit is a rather abrupt one, however, as Wesley is concentrating on preparing to be questioned in the aftermath of the flight maneuver that accidentally lead to the deaths of fellow Starfleet Academy officers.
2. Counselor Troi is onboard a Federation shuttlecrft when she faints into Data's arms, which happens shortly after being equipped with a special armband device in preparation for transport back onto the Enterprise.

Answer: Timescape

While still onboard their shuttle, Geordi, Picard, Troi and Data collectively determine that they can avoid the effects of the time fragments permeating the Enterprise by wearing special emergency transport armband devices. Picard, Data and Troi are then equipped with the armbands, and when Geordi uses the shuttle's computer to activate them, bursts of yellow electric energy momentarily flash around his crewmates.

The energy burst causes Troi to faint right into Data's arms, having been overcome with dizziness, which Geordi explains may have been triggered by the sudden switch in time frequency.
3. Alexander sees the body of a dead Klingon inside crew quarters onboard the Enterprise in this episode.

Answer: Reunion

Near the end of the episode, the lovely Ambassador K'Ehleyr is discovered to have been brutally attacked when Worf and Alexander go to pay her a visit in her quarters following her heated verbal confrontation with Duras. When K'Ehleyr speaks her final word and sags lifelessly into Worf's arms, the Enterprise's security chief releases the trademark Klingon howl that is always heard whenever a close acquaintance succumbs to death.

The outcry of mourn terrifies Alexander, who momentarily runs away, but he does catch a brief glimpse of K'Ehleyr's dead body when Worf later explains how very real the image of death is.
4. Yar, from her tactical station on the bridge, prepares then launches an energy beam from the Enterprise down onto a planet, supplying a lifeform on the surface with enough power to join its space-faring companion that's holding position in close proximity to the ship.

Answer: Encounter At Farpoint

The pivotal moment near the end of the series pilot sees Picard and his crew having determined that the mysterious 'Farpoint Station' was not really a station at all, but rather a lifeform whose 'mate' was intent on destroying the Bandi city upon arriving at the Enterprise's position. Picard orders Yar to prepare and then launch a narrow beam of glowing white energy projected down onto the Farpoint Station, which enables the jellyfish-looking alien to leave the surface, fly up into space and finally reunite with its companion.
5. Lieutenant Barclay is jokingly referred to as the name of a vegetable in this episode.

Answer: Hollow Pursuits

In Barclay's first appearance of the series, we learn that he is having a difficult time interacting with the Enterprise crew and proves himself to be rather clumsy and incompetent. Besides that, we also learn that some of his crewmates have been calling him 'broccoli' instead of by his proper surname, as Riker explains to Picard and Geordi near the beginning of the episode.

But then later on, a slip of the tongue on the captain's part leads to Barclay being called 'broccoli' again, much to Riker's amusement and surprise.

The mention of this healthy green vegetable isn't mentioned at all in the other three episodes.
6. In this episode, the Enterprise crew encounters a race of humanoid aliens who all have blond hair and run everywhere instead of walking.

Answer: Justice

This early first-season episode sees the Enterprise crew encountering a humanoid race called the Edo, who are all blond and jog everywhere instead of walking. It's no surprise that all of the actors and actresses playing the individual members of the Edo seen in this episode are physically fit and appear as though running--or just exercising altogether--was a daily regimen for them.
7. Geordi emits a phaser blast from his bare hand without actually physically holding a phaser in this episode.

Answer: Interface

Perhaps the giveaway clue for this question is 'without physically holding a phaser', which suggests that a power of some kind is being used here. "Interface" saw Geordi equipped with the experimental technology that allowed him to enter virtually any kind of remote environment where he could physically interact with any object without actually being there. Early in the episode, Geordi is traversing the interior of the ship when he is given the ability to fire a phaser blast at a nearby wall console, which I personally thought was a really cool special effect.

It's too bad the interface wasn't used earlier in the series, as it might've gotten the Enterprise crew out of a lot of dire situations more easily than the solutions they ultimately had to come up with.
8. Worf is seen bathing in a pool of mud in this episode.

Answer: Cost Of Living

A visit to the Enterprise by the outrageous Lwaxana Troi is never complete without something totally bizarre and humorous happening! This time, she befriends Alexander, taking him on a thrilling adventure on the holodeck against the wishes of her half-Betazoid daughter and the Enterprise's chief of security.

After Lwaxana treats Alexander and the other colorful holodeck characters to a mud bath within the fantasy world partway through the episode, we see her and Alexander in the mud bath again at the very end, but now joined by Counselor Troi and a very disgruntled Worf...all of them presumably naked!
9. A Klingon temporarily assumes Riker's role as first officer onboard the Enterprise, giving orders to Wesley and Worf on the bridge while Picard continues his role as the Enterprise's captain.

Answer: Sins Of The Father

A past agreement between the Federation and the Klingon Empire to have Riker serve onboard the Klingon ship back in the second-season episode, "A Matter Of Honor", leads to the reciprocation of Kurn coming onboard the Enterprise to serve as Picard's right-hand man. Early on, it proves rather difficult for the Starfleet-trained officers to operate under Kurn's command, whose strict adherence to protocol has everyone on edge, including the ship's chief of security, who soon learns that Kurn is actually his long lost brother.
10. An alien briefly masquerades as Counselor Troi in a failed attempt to seduce an Enterprise crewmember while inside crew quarters in this episode.

Answer: Devil's Due

The scheming and comical Ardra, who is ultimately found to be a fraudulent 'magician' of sorts without any powers of sorcery at all, tries to influence Picard as the proceedings regarding her contract to the Ventaxian people are under way. In a memorable scene, Ardra intrudes on Picard sleeping in his quarters, transforming herself into the beautiful Counselor Troi (wearing one of Troi's trademark light purple jumpsuits) in an attempt to seduce him and get him to spend eternity with her.

The uninterested and supremely disgusted captain, however, declines her offer, and even Ardra's elegant and sexy evening gown aren't enough to attract Picard's eyes and win the captain over.
