Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Happy Returns" what is the name of the boy Del stops from running into the road?

Answer: Jason

In "Happy Returns" Rodney is seeing a girl called Debbie, who works at the newsagents. Del is worried that Debbie may be his daughter, because he was dating her mum in the few months prior to when Debbie was born. Also Del stops Jason from running out into the road - Jason is Debbie's younger brother, which is what starts the whole scenario over the parentage of Debbie.
2. In "Strained Relations" we first meet Uncle Albert at Grandad's funeral. But who did Albert attend the funeral with?

Answer: Jean and Stan

The BBC decided to make this episode as Leonard Pearce (Grandad) had recently passed away, and they needed to find a way to write him out of the programme. Uncle Albert is present at the funeral, having been staying with Jean and Stan who are Del's cousins.
3. In "Hole in One" who was originally meant to fall down the cellar at the pub?

Answer: Grandad

In "Hole in One" Uncle Albert tries to make some money by falling down the cellar at the Nag's Head. When the script was written and filming first started, Leonard Pearce was alive and meant to fall into the hole. However, before filming finished Leonard passed away, so the scene was re-shot and script adjusted so that it is Uncle Albert who performs the daredevil stunt.
4. In "It's Only Rock and Roll" Del gets the band a gig at a club, but what was its name?

Answer: The Shamrock Club

Rodney has joined a band called "A Bunch of Wallies". Del gets them a St Patrick's Day gig at The Shamrock Club. Del convinces Rodney that the band will go nowhere but, after Rodney leaves the group, they get onto "Top of the Pops".
5. In "Sleeping Dog's Lie" how much per week do the boys get for looking after Dukie?

Answer: 60 pounds

When Marlene and Boycie go away, they ask Del to look after their new Great Dane, Dukie. They pay Del £60 per week, which Del believed would be easy money. However, having fed Dukie cold pork they believe that he has got salmonella (or "Sal and Ella" as Del calls it) poisoning, and it's a bit touch and go as to whether Dukie will survive.

However, they discover that they have fed Dukie sleeping pills instead of vitamins.
6. In "Watching the Girls Go By" what is the name of the girl Rodney takes on a disastrous night out at the pub?

Answer: Yvonne

Mickey bets Rodney 50p (although Rodney thinks he means £50) that Rodney won't bring a girl to a party at the Nag's Head. Del sets Rodney up with Yvonne, and the evening seems to be going fine until she starts stripping in front of the whole pub. Del had omitted to tell Rodney that Yvonne was a professional stripper.
7. In "As One Door Closes" what is the name of the supplier Del uses to get the doors?

Answer: Teddy Cummings

In this episode, Del gets a load of louvre doors from Teddy Cummings for the purposes of selling them onto Brendan. However, Brendan decides that he doesn't want this type of door. Del can't return the doors because Teddy stole them from the warehouse.

In order to make up the money, the boys try to catch a rare butterfly. This means that Rodney has to go into ponds and clamber over gravestones, only for Denzil to squash it once it has been caught.
8. "White Mice" was a 5 minute programme which was shown as part of which Christmas special?

Answer: "BBC Breakfast Time Christmas Special"

This was a 5 minute episode in which Del shows everyone how to sell white mice to a wally in a hat.
9. In "To Hull and Back" who is Boycie's business partner during the diamond scam?

Answer: Abdul

In "To Hull and Back" Del becomes a courier for Boycie and Abdul, who are bringing £150,000 worth of diamonds over from Holland. Del is offered £15,000, but realises that the money he was sent to Holland with is fake. He still gets his £15,000 but throws it out of the window at the flat as he says that it is fake as well - it isn't, so it was a bit of a silly thing to do!
10. In "To Hull and Back" who is arrested at the very end of the episode?

Answer: Chief Inspector Slater

Slater is arrested at the end of the episode, as the police are aware that he has been involved in the diamond scam. They have been watching him for ages, and when he thinks he's got away with it, they reveal that he won't be retiring with a lot of money after all!
