Del is trying to sell the "genuine French" tights from his suitcase to a small number of ladies. He asks for 50p per pack, at which point the ladies walk away. After talking to Trigger, he tries again, and we hear him claim they are worn by Charles Aznavour's sister.

Trigger asks Del if he'll go to the funeral, and Del claims to be busy. When Trigger says he'll be the only one there, Del says he will go, along with Rodney and Granddad.

Del: "Is it? I always get those two mixed up. Must be why I couldn't sell that Chippendale teapot last week."

Trigger is telling Del, Rodney and Granddad about his own granddad, Arthur. He tells them that Arthur helped to raise him after his mum died.

Trigger: "He died a couple of years before I was born."

We see Trigger doing his job at the start of the episode, when he is speaking to Del. When he is speaking about his granddad later, he mentions that Arthur was also a roadsweeper.

It is heavily inferred from Granddad's reaction and behaviour that he was the other man. He admits it later to Del and Rodney after they discover Arthur's ashes in one of the urns they have taken from Trigger. Granddad says that Arthur knew and threatened to come back and haunt him.

As Del comes out of the bathroom, he hears Granddad talking to the urn containing Arthur's ashes. Del decides to have some fun with Granddad and speaks to him from the hallway using a traffic cone, pretending to be the voice of Arthur. He also uses a fishing rod to move the curtain.

Granddad suggests Peckham Bowling Club as Arthur was a lifelong member. Del and Rodney take the ashes the following night, expecting the club to be deserted. Unfortunately, some members arrive in the clubhouse, forcing Del and Rodney to flee.

They then attempt to scatter the ashes from a rowing boat on the Thames, but are stopped by the river police.

Finally, Del considers pouring the ashes into a cement mixer, but is spotted by a builder.

Del: "Don't you see the poetic irony? Arthur used to be a roadsweeper. To him, this must be like a Viking's burial."

When Trigger calls Del from Ireland, Del states that he has found his granddad's ashes and offering to take care of them, not mentioning they've already been sucked up by the road sweeper. Trigger then tells Del that his gran was married twice, and they discover the second urn also contains ashes.
