Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In episode one - "Homesick" - who is in charge of Housing and Welfare?

Answer: Miss Mackenzie

Rodney becomes Chairman of the local tenants' meeting. Del hopes this will help get the family moved away from Nelson Mandela House, as the lift is always breaking down, and Grandad is suffering with his legs. Grandad even feigns illness, to help them move to a bungalow. Miss Mackenzie's first name is Margaret; she is nearly taken in by the Trotters.
2. In episode two - "Healthy Competition" - what is the content of Lot 35, at the auction?

Answer: Fire alarms

Rodney decides to go into partnership with Mickey Pearce. The fire alarms are smoke damaged. Mickey and Rodney buy Lot 37 - a lot of broken lawnmower engines. Del gloats and says that someone sold them to him, so he had to send them to auction to get rid of them. Mickey goes on holiday with the proceeds of the sales, so Rodney joins partnership with Del again.
3. In episode three - "Friday the 14th" - how many years ago did the escaped prisoner kill a party of weekend fishermen?

Answer: Ten years ago

This is another hysterical episode. Del, Rodney and Grandad travel to Boycie's cottage in the country, for a bit of salmon poaching, during a violent storm. The local police warn them that an escaped prisoner from a psychiatric hospital has escaped.
4. When the Trotters are playing Monopoly (the English version) in "Friday the 14th", what is the first property that Rodney lands on?

Answer: Park Lane

Del even cheats at Monopoly, charging more than necessary. The escaped prisoner comes to the cottage, pretending to be the chief of security of the psychiatric hospital. Later, Rodney and Grandad find the real warden tied up, so go to the police station.

They leave Del with the prisoner. The prisoner explains to Del that he likes to lose at games. Del challenges him to a game of snooker on an imaginary snooker table, at £10 a frame.
5. In episode four - "Yesterday Never Comes" - who is the painting by?

Answer: Blythe

Del is selling an old cabinet as a Queen Anne cabinet. A lady called Miranda comes to look at it; she says it is made of banana boxes. Del goes out with Miranda a few times, but Miranda is only tolerating Del, because a painting, in the Trotters flat, has caught her eye.

She manages to persuade Del to part with the painting. But Del has the last laugh at the auctioneers when he reveals that his Gran had stolen the painting when she was a cleaning lady to an art dealer.
6. In episode five - "May The Force Be With You" - who did Roy Slater say Trigger used to play when they used to play pirates as children?

Answer: Long John Silver

Roy Slater used to go to school with Del. He is now a Detective Inspector. He arrests Grandad, Del and Rodney for receiving stolen goods. Del manages to get Slater to drop all the charges. Roy Slater appears in two more "Only Fools and Horses" episodes - "To Hull and Back" and "The Class Of '62".
7. In episode six - "Wanted" - what colour hair does Blossom have?

Answer: Blonde

Blossom accuses Rodney of rape when he tries to help her. Del says to Grandad that Blossom is well known for doing this; she comes out of the mental hospital at weekends. He winds Rodney up by saying the police are looking for him. But Rodney goes on the run and hides in the tank room of Nelson Mandela House.
8. In episode seven - "Who's a Pretty Boy?" - what sort of cake did Del provide for Denzil and Corrine's wedding cake?

Answer: Jam sponge

This is the main reason why Corinne does not like Del, as he ruined their wedding. Although Denzil often mentions Corinne, this is the only episode we actually see her.
9. In "Who's A Pretty Boy?" how much does Grandad pay for the replacement canary?

Answer: 45 pounds

The three Trotters go to decorate Denzil's house, Del is only doing it to get back at a rival painter and decorator, Brendan O' Shaughnessy. Rodney accidentally leaves the kettle on the stove, when the Trotters come into the kitchen; they find the kettle has a hole in it. Also that Corinne's pet budgie, which was in the kitchen, away from the paint fumes, is dead in its cage.

The Trotters presume it was gassed to death, so Grandad goes to buy a replacement budgie. Grandad tells Del the canary cost £50 but really it cost £45, the Painter tells Del and Rodney this later.

It is later discovered that the bird had died before the Trotters had arrived. We are also introduced to the new landlord of The Nag's Head pub, Mike Fisher.
10. And finally, in the Christmas special - "Thicker Than Water" - how old was Rodney when his father walked out on his mother?

Answer: 5

Reg Trotter, Del and Rodney's father turns up and says he is seriously ill, and says he wanted to see his sons before he died. Del and Rodney take a blood test, and it is discovered that they are different blood groups. Reg says that Del is not his son. It is later revealed that Reg had tampered with the blood results; he used to be a hospital porter. Reg is never seen again in "Only Fools and Horses". Hope you enjoyed my quiz.
