Hawkeye: "Why don't we go tell them?" With Margaret out of town for a conference Frank was worse than usual. So Potter told Pierce and Hunnicutt to buddy up to him. They invited him to a poker game which he won with a pair of fives. After drinking at the officers' club Hunnicutt's idea with Hawkeye's help put a toe tag on Frank: "Emotionally exhausted and morally bankrupt." They then passed out in their bunks but a drunk Frank woke up and fell into an ambulance which went to a battalion aid station.

The Captain there called the 4077th to let them know of Frank's whereabouts. Potter then ordered Pierce and Hunnicutt to go and pick him up.
