Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Home Sweet Home," the audience learns a rival group has attacked Maggie's people, destroyed their village, and may now be hunting them down as she returns to Virginia. What is this rival group called?

Answer: The Reapers

In season 10, episode 17, "Home Sweet Home," Maggie returns to Virginia. She has been absent six years in the show's timeline, during which time she worked to build up other communities under the direction of Georgie. But the work eventually proved unsuccessful, and the last village she lived in was destroyed.

Daryl tells her that she can come to Alexandria and rejoin her old family. When Maggie comes upon a burned-out building and the corpse of two of her group members, however, she and her fellow remaining group members fear that the Reapers, who attacked their village, have followed them back to Virginia.
2. "Home Sweet Home" introduces audiences to two members of Maggie's group. What is the name of the character who covers his face with a mask?

Answer: Elijah

Elijah first appears in season 10, episode 16, "A Certain Doom" when he arrives suddenly with Maggie to rescue Gabriel from the tower. Elijah lost his sister when his village was raided, which Kelly, who is missing her own sister Connie, can understand. This episode also introduces audiences to another member of Maggie's group: Cole.
3. In "Find Me," audiences learn who named Daryl's dog "Dog." What woman, who was also the original owner of the dog, came up with this basic name?

Answer: Leah

In season 10, episode 18, Daryl encounters a woman living alone in a cabin in the woods. She is the owner of the dog that later becomes his dog, and she named him, simply, "Dog." It's awhile before she reveals her name to Daryl - Leah. The two develop a relationship, but when she issues Daryl an ultimatum that he must choose where he really belongs - with her, his Alexandria family, or searching alone for Rick - he hesitates.

He goes out looking for Rick and returns to the cabin to find her vanished.
4. In a clumsy act of courtship, what does Daryl throw at the door of the woman in the woods in the episode "Find Me"?

Answer: A fish

Daryl catches a fish and offers it to Leah by tossing it at her cabin door. He waits by the door, but she doesn't answer, so he leaves. Later she comes to his solitary camp in the woods and throws the fish back at him, claiming she doesn't need his help.
5. In "One More," Aaron and Gabriel find themselves forced to play Russian roulette at the hands of a madman. Who does the man turn out to have chained to a wall upstairs?

Answer: His twin brother

Aaron comes upon the man's wild boar and kills it when it attacks. After a drunken night, Aaron and Father Gabriel find themselves trapped by the madman and forced to play his bizarre game of Russian roulette while he tells of the brother who betrayed him. After they escape, they later find that brother still alive and chained to the wall upstairs.
6. What is unique about the episode "Splinter," in which Princess finds herself locked in a boxcar by mysterious troopers?

Answer: It is the first "Walking Dead" episode to contain no deaths, even of a walker

As of April 2021, "Diverged" was the lowest-rated episode in "Walking Dead" history, not "Splinter." "Splinter" uses other actors and characters besides Princess, including Ezekiel, who appears as a hallucination. It is, however, the first "Walking Dead" episode in which no one - not even a walker - dies. "Talking Dead," which usually includes an "In Memoriam" section for every person or walker killed during each episode, had nothing to feature for "Splinter."
7. In "Diverged," Carol tells a European folk story in which a hungry stranger convinces everyone in town to share their food. What is this story known as?

Answer: The Stone Soup

In the folktale, a traveler arrives at a village and claims to be able to make excellent stone soup. He just needs a pinch of salt, a bit of this, a bit of that. Eventually, the villagers chip in and share their food, and an excellent soup is made. Carol uses this as a metaphor for the soup she is trying to make to distract herself from thoughts of her fight with Daryl.

She ends up chasing a rat, making a mess of the soup, and pounding holes in the dry wall instead. Meanwhile, Daryl wanders around the forest trying to find parts to fix his motorcycle, which miraculously still has fuel of some kind, despite the fact that the Hilltop has been destroyed and no longer even grows corn.
8. In "Here's Negan," what is the name of Negan's wife?

Answer: Lucille

Negan eventually names his bat after his wife, Lucille. Negan is far from the ideal husband, having cheated on his wife with her best friend. When he finds out she has cancer, however, he ends the affair. After the apocalypse starts, he does her chemo treatments for her, eventually going out in search of medicines when he runs out.
9. What famous Joe Cocker song does Negan sing to his wife in "Here's Negan"?

Answer: You Are So Beautiful

"Easy Street" is the song Negan uses to torture Daryl. "Brown Eyed Girl" is a Van Morrison song. Negan sings "You Are So Beautiful" to his wife, and the song plays in the background after he discovers she has killed herself and turned into a walker. He has just returned with her medicines when he finds written on her bedroom door, "Don't leave me like this."
10. In "Here's Negan," who takes Negan to a cabin in the woods and tells him he is being exiled?

Answer: Carol

Negan asks if it was the Council's decision or one of Carol's unilateral moves, and Carol refuses to reply. While staying at the cabin, he goes and digs up his old baseball bat, reminiscences about his wife, and then burns the bat. When he returns to Alexandria, insisting he plans to remain in the community, Carol tells him that when Maggie kills him, that will no longer be on her conscience.
