Answer: Uncle Albert

Uncle Albert was not introduced to the series until season 4, following the sad passing of Lennard Pearce who played Granddad.

Mike Fisher, played by Kenneth MacDonald, was introduced as the new owner of the Nag's Head.

Denzil, played by Paul Barber, is a friend of Del's from school. In this episode he was living with his wife, Corinne, played by Eva Mottley.

Writer John Sullivan had originally intended to feature Corinne in more episodes, but sadly Eva Mottley committed suicide in early 1985. Out of respect for the actress, Sullivan decided not to recast the role, and instead the character was written out of the show on the premise that she had left Denzil.

Del isn't happy with Brendan because he sold them the wrong paint the previous week. It was suppose to be apple white but was actually battleship grey.

Firstly, Denzil had a canary rather than a budgie.

Secondly, although it was presumed that the kettle was the cause of the canary dying, it was discovered later in the episode that the canary had already died.

Del: "Yeah look at him. He's hopping about all over the place like a good 'un."
