Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the Mining Plaza in Agon Wastes, there's a huge statue of a certain creature carved into one of the pillars, but which creature does this statue represent?

Answer: Amorbis

There's a giant statue of Amorbis carved out of a pillar in Mining Access. If you scan it, the game will tell you that it may have been put on it as a warning to travelers.
2. Whenever you enter an elevator that leads from region to region (e.g. Temple Grounds to Agon Wastes), a light always shines on the elevator, right beneath Samus's feet. What color the light is depends on whether you are going up or down. A _____ light means that you are going up, and a _____ light means that you are going down. Which of these combinations of colors will correctly fill in these blanks?

Answer: blue, green

If you are going up on a region-to-region elevator, then the light that appears under Samus's feet will be blue, and the light will be green if you are going down on a region-to-region elevator. A cutscene will always occur when you step into the hologram for a region-to-region elevator, but some of you may press the A or Start Buttons to skip it.
3. Stupid War Wasps! Even if I destroy every Hive from a safe distance, some always emerge from the one that's farthest away from where I entered to room from. If only I could remember the room's name! Do you happen to know which room that I am talking about?

Answer: Torvus Transport Access

In Torvus Transport Access, there are three War Wasp Hives; one by each of the doors and one in the middle of the room. Even if you manage to destroy each of the Hives from a safe distance, War Wasps will always emerge from the one near the door opposite to that which you entered, regardless of which door you come through, so it may prove better if you just make a mad dash for the other door and leave the Hives alone.
4. The word "Ing" is actually a word in the Luminoth's language. What does "Ing" mean in the Luminoth's language?

Answer: Terror

Although the Ing certainly are all of these, the reality is that "Ing" in the Luminoth's language is the word for "terror". You can find this out by reading through the Luminoth Lore in your Logbook.
5. As you may recall from "Metroid Prime", certain rooms will have new enemies after a certain action is carried out. In the Meeting Grounds room of the Temple Grounds, the War Wasps and Sandbats are replaced with Dark Pirate Commandos after you perform what action?

Answer: Return the energy to Torvus Bog

Once you return the energy to the Torvus Energy Controller, the Dark Pirate Commandos will replace the War Wasps and Sandbats in the Meeting Grounds. However, you'll have the Dark Visor with you, which means that you can track them all of the time, even when they disappear.
6. Speaking of Energy Controllers, there's a hologram representation of a Luminoth in the Energy Controller rooms of each outer region (Agon Wastes, Torvus Bog, and Sanctuary Fortress) that will update your translator files of your Scan Visor so that you can scan different colored holograms. However, during the cutscenes where Samus returns the energy back to each of the Energy Controllers in the Light World, the Holographic Luminoth in each room will do which of the following at the end of each cutscene?

Answer: They bow

If you watch the cutscenes to their full length, then you'll discover that at the end of each cutscene where Samus returns the energy to each of the Energy Controllers, the holographic Luminoth will appear behind Samus and give a solemn bow. This happens three times.
7. If you look carefully at U-Mos, you can see that he has red markings on him. Certain other Luminoth also have distinct markings on them, as well; these are the Keybearers. However, the markings on these special Luminoth are different then that on U-Mos. What color markings are on the Keybearer Luminoth?

Answer: Blue

There's a Keybearer Luminoth in the Landing Site, and if you notice, there are distinct, blue markings on it. All of the Keybearer Luminoth have these blue markings; all of the other dead Luminoth have no distinct marking on them.
8. Speaking of the Keybearer Luminoth, if you know that one is in a given room, then you can also say that in that room's Dark Aether opposite, there's this kind of creature. What creature am I talking about?

Answer: Flying Ing Cache

The Keybearers were supposed to find all ten of the Sky Temple Keys and return them to the Sky Temple Gateway; only their leader, A-Kul, managed to get her Key to the Sky Temple Gateway before dying. Thus, the Flying Ing Caches were charged with holding the other nine Keys, and they so happen to be in the Dark Aether versions of the rooms where the other Keybearers lie on Aether. If you use the Dark Visor in those rooms on Aether, you can see the outline of the Flying Ing Caches; only by going to the Dark Aether versions of those rooms can you truly find them and destroy them for the Sky Temple Keys.
9. You can scan Samus's Gunship for a Research entry to your Logbook at anytime before you obtain the Light Suit; after that, you can't get it for your Logbook. If you so happen to get this Logbook entry, it will tell you where Samus's Ship was built. On what planet was Samus's Gunship built on?

Answer: Aliehs III

If you read the Logbook entry for Samus's Gunship, you'll discover that her gunship (at least the one in this game) was built for her at the Federated Shipyards at Aliehs III, not Earth where you'd think it was built. Although the Chozo built her Power Suit, they didn't build her Gunship, so that would eliminate Zebes and SR388, where the Chozo had colonies in other "Metroid" games.
10. While you're just beginning to explore Sanctuary Fortress, you'll come across those dang Quad CMs and MBs that love to turn you into scrap. After you manage to destroy your first Quad in the Reactor Core, you'll come across more in the Hall of Combat Mastery. However, you'll discover that several Quad MBs are lying around, doing absolutely nothing. How many Quad MBs are simply lying around when you first visit the Hall of Combat Mastery?

Answer: Two

You'll find that along with two fully functional Quads, there are two Quad MBs that are lying around in the Hall of Combat Mastery; if you take out the MBs on the fully functional Quads before you take out the CMs, then the Cms will fly onto the stationary MBs and use them as their new bodies. Be sure to destroy the CMs first before you destroy the MBs to make your life much easier.
