Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many cooperative missions are there in the Southern Shiverpeaks?

Answer: Three

The quest, "Seeking the Seer", obtained in Droknar's Forge, will lead players through Talus Chute to the first of the three missions in the Southern Shiverpeaks, Ice Caves of Sorrow. The follow-up mission is Iron Mines of Moladune, where players can get their armour infused (protection against the Mursaat skill Spectral Agony).

The third and final mission in this area is Thunderhead Keep, and must be completed in order to advance the storyline. Completion of this mission will send players to the last region in Tyria, the Ring of Fire Island Chain.
2. The rare Icy Dragon Sword only drops from Ice Imps in which explorable area?

Answer: Mineral Springs

Prince Rurik wielded the Fiery Dragon Sword, which dealt fire damage. The Icy Dragon Sword looks similar to this sword, but is coloured blue and deals cold damage. Before the 4th Anniversary update, Icy Dragon Swords could only be obtained as drops from Ice Imps in Mineral Springs.

However, with the addition of Nicholas the Traveler and his Gifts, an Icy Dragon Sword is a possible reward for opening one of the gifts.
3. Which is the closest outpost to Sorrow's Furnace?

Answer: Deldrimor War Camp

Sorrow's Furnace is an elite underground area accessed from Grenth's Footprint. Parties commonly form at Deldrimor War Camp, as it is only a short walk from there to the Furnace. Four NPCs situated in Grenth's Footprint offer quests that take place in Sorrow's Furnace.

The first two quests, obtained from Galen Trask and Kilroy Stonekin respectively, are the easiest, with only a small number of hostile foes in the Furnace. These quests are intended to get players used to the map and to learn the twisting passages.

However, the final two quests, obtained from High Priest Alkar and Orozar Highstone respectively, are quite difficult, and require a coordinated party to successfully complete them.
4. The largest explorable area in Tyria lies in the Southern Shiverpeaks. Which is it?

Answer: Snake Dance

Snake Dance is the largest and the most treacherous of all the explorable areas in Tyria. The infamous 'Droknar's Run' passes through here, with many Tundra Giants and Azure Shadows that will take every opportunity to knock the player down. The twisting, winding tracks that form the area can be accessed from Dreadnought's Drift to the north, Grenth's Footprint to the east (about half way down), and Camp Rankor to the south.
5. What is the name of the NPC that offers players infusion in the Iron Mines of Moladune mission?

Answer: The Seer

Infused armour is a valuable thing to have, as it significantly reduces the damage that the Mursaat skill Spectral Agony will deal. In addition to being found in Iron Mines of Moladune, the Seer can be found in Mineral Springs, the Ring of Fire mission, and the Abbadon's Mouth mission.
6. Pinesouls are of which profession?

Answer: Ranger

Pinesouls are Ranger plants that specialise in setting traps around where they are. They can be first encountered in Lornar's Pass, outside Beacon's Perch. Due to the number of people running from Beacon's Perch to Droknar's Forge, Arenanet introduced an update that added the skill Muddy Terrain to Pinesouls. Muddy Terrain makes creatures move slower, and unable to be affected by speed boosts. Pinesouls can often be found with Ice Imps and Avicara.
7. The Avicara are the relatives of which foe, met in Kryta?

Answer: Tengu

Tengu are found in Kryta, and the Avicara are found in the Southern Shiverpeaks. Avicara professions can be identified from their naming: Monk (Ardent), Warrior (Brave), Ranger (Fierce), Mesmer (Wise), and Necromancer (Guile).
8. How many exits does Spearhead Peak have?

Answer: Three

Spearhead Peak runs north-south in the lower central part of the Southern Shiverpeaks. The area is named for the giant spearhead-like mountain that dominates the centre of the area. Journeying up to the top will provide a beautiful 360-degree view of the snow-covered terrain. Exiting Spearhead Peak to the north will move your party to the Granite Citadel, south to Copperhammer Mines, and to the west, into Grenth's Footprint.
9. Icedome connects which two explorable areas?

Answer: Talus Chute & Frozen Forest

Icedome is one of the smallest explorable areas in the Southern Shiverpeaks, but is in no way easy to cross through. Densely packed mobs of Stone Summit and Ice Golems will provide a tough challenge for players as they fight their way through. Battles make take longer than expected due to the fact that Dolyak Masters are frequent in groups, and because the groups are located so close together, it is often that players will find themselves fighting two groups at once, with two Dolyak healers keep the Stone Summit alive.
10. The boss of Thunderhead Keep, Dagnar Stonepate, is seen in which other mission?

Answer: The Frost Gate

Dagnar Stonepate rides atop a Lightning Drake, hence making him an Elementalist boss. When he dismounts from the Drake, he wields an axe and hence is a Warrior. Dagnar is encountered in the Thunderhead Keep mission, at the very end, in the keep itself. Once he is killed, the onslaught of Mursaat and White Mantle begins, and players must defend the Keep and King Jalis.
